@gonadiator Alex is one of the most organic sounding musical persons in the planet. It's not about the chops for him. It's the real deal. Truly one of the greatest condero and drummer of our time.

I mean no disrespect to any body, but Latin music is no the same as other kinds of music. This guy is playing what comes out of his soul. You guys wish you could do what this guy does.Playing drums in the same pattern for 30 songs it's easy because its something you learn and practice the same all the time, but playing latin jazz, latin percussion is very different.A lot of you guys are stock thinking drums are only to play rock music and bang them as hard as you can.YOU ARE VERY WRONG!!!

Isn't a solo where you show off your chops @ gonadiator?

  • @aeroslipton

How can you say this guy blows, master percussionist and drummer started playing with Elvis Presley and has recorded on hundreds of albums most recently the new Star Trek Movie. He is soloing how can you say theres no beat in what he is playing are you even a musician? @GoofyLongBoarder455

Kevin Ragsac It would probably take you decades to understand the "beat', so let go, and enjoy, yes, monster chops :)

I had a clinic with Alex years ago. Trust me...
This guy could play circles around most rock 'legends' - because most of those guys play 'linear' and they never bothered to extend their minds to poly style thinking...even the great Bozzio cannot hold a candle to Heratio Hernandez because he plays linear ostinato style which is cool and original...but still limited and linear - like most drummers out there.
