I just had a thought. Every time this plays, it's in a non story related boss fight as the story ones have their own tone they want to create. So, due to the fact we hear this a lot for our bosses, does that make it OUR boss theme, and not the other way around?
@@pst5345 about this, a curious fact. In the castilian spanish dub, the actor who puts the voice for Jin Sakai is the same actor who puts the voice of Kratos in all the previous games (so, the greek themed)

It'll always be the duel in the drowning marsh for me when I think of this theme You're blundering around in the fog looking for Umugi Cove or anything you can find, all of a sudden you see the silhouette of a cage in the distance. Not knowing what it is you go up to it and enter then see a civilian run off in terror while a Ronin proclaims "I knew you'd find me here eventually, Ghost!" He taunts Jin proclaiming he hated his guts cause everything was handed to him and now with the invasion it's the perfect time to finally prove his superiority. Then cues the classic samurai movie scene of close ups of both opponents drawing their blades against the background of the all consuming fog. Honestly I feel that duel is the most iconic(besides the final one) cause the atmosphere is perfect as most player probably found it by accident before they knew about Kojiro and the fog gives that perfect sense of isolation that waterfalls or leaves just don't have.
For me it was always the Spider Lilies duel I'll stumble into. Happened on my first playthrough as well, I was just like, exploring Akashima and I stumbled across this guy standing in an arena, and I thought that it was like, someone who needed help perhaps, and so I went up and talked, turns out it was a Ronin duel.
What a fucking title. I wish we got to know them more. The mad dog, the one looking for a honorable duel, the one keeping his word, the one with jealousy in his heart. I can't wait to meet kojiro. Our battle will shake the earth and awaken the warriors of heaven to witness our clash
Listen to the percussion. You'll hear a repeating pattern that goes: long, long, short. If you count the continuous rhythm that threads through those beats, you will find that the music is repeating over a 5 beats: (1)2(3)45 (1)2(3)4(5). The brackets represent the accents.@@steellegion7054

Did anyone else have a particular issue with the ronin up in the mountains with the autumn leaves?I think it's actually the background of the video lol,Lethal mode the whole way through but I got stuck on him more then the khan.
I didn't get this theme for this particular battle (duel under autumn leaves), are the duel themes random? This was definitely the hardest of them all IMO.

Ryuzo: "A lifetime ago."

It contains the elements of the Yarikawa theme.
But it isn’t Jin Sakai’s theme but more so, The Ghost’s theme
So your theory is right
It’s big brain time!

We’re getting co-op tho.
Serious God of War vibes. Which are the best vibe for these battles.

I may be a ronin but I keep my word.
One of the few straw hat ronins I respected. Shame he threw his life away for the wrong cause.

Playing on the Lethal Difficulty with a broken controler made me hear just the beginning of the theme at least 10 times on *every* duel I fought
Awesome, the beginning of this theme reminds me of something you would hear in the old God of war games
