    A while back a friend of mine (who works at walmart) got one of these in site to store, and the customer changed their mind and got a refund. It was brand new, never even left the backroom and they had to mark it down cause they dont stock it, so he marked it down to $200.00 and I was there within an hour to pick it up!

    I got mine just after the recent Black Friday for $299. Been looking at it for a year, and when I saw the price, I ordered immediately. I'm a cripple, and thought it was just me having trouble when I had to sit on my butt, and push and scoot with my good leg in order to move it, but looks like I'm not the only one who had trouble moving it. If weight says anything about it's duribility, it should last a long time.
    I intend to cover mine with a tarp so a few leaks won't matter, plus once it's seasoned, those leaks may stop. Thanks for the encouraging news.

    I picked up the two I have a couple years ago. I think they said they were 101 lbs. Definitely Heavy AF. My plan for the set up (when I get there) is the two of them face to face with my 12x12 pop up canopy connecting them as an open sitting area.

    Been looking at these. I definitely like a sewn in floor better. Little creatures can still enter your tent via the spaces between the floor and wall....no big deal to me but women freak out. For the last 20 years I've been using Cabela's alaknak tent. I've had 2. Sent it up in a low level flood ravine( I didn't know) and it rained and three/four inches of rain water rushed thru the area. The floor held tight. Like you said, waterbed effect. However, been looking at this tent, like it, the price is right. Great info. Thanks for the test drive.

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Super Beast yeah a zippered in floor would be awesome that way you could remove it if you don’t want to use it and use it if you do. Keeping the critters out. The alaknak tent looks so cool! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!

    • @superbeast4287
      @superbeast4287 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AdventureswithSpackmann you bet bro. Thank you. The alaknaks are pretty cool. After I bought mine, my friends followed suit. I had the first year made one. Height was 9'6". Now they are 9'. Two problems with that tent.(and I called the manufacturer to tell them how to correct this) The corners will catch water and pool up. Not a lot , maybe a cup or two. But the tent is $900. This shouldn't be a problem. If the corner tent posts were made retractable (shorten in length) that would solve this. Took it on my own to make a prototype.....worked great. Just dropped the retractable pole from 4' down to 3'6" and the rain ran off smoothly. The other problem is the tension that comes across the doorway. Hard to explain in text but setting up the tent correctly puts a lot of stress across the screen and door when you zip it up or down. Mind you, when these tents are set up for advertising they are pearched up on pretty much level ground. I set mine up on a concaved area one time which made the tent sag. (That was my bad too but I really wanted that spot) I went to my truck and retrieved my floor jack and put it under the center pole and jacked it up 5 or so inches and everything came into play. Great weekend. I should be making these videos. Your a great inspiration. I really respect the fact that your not selling a product but rather critiquing it .
      Love how you showed the water drops. Maybe some seem sealer. But I have cautions about that stuff too. That's how I ruined my first alaknak tent. Has to do with tent, seem sealer, hot garage, oh man. The xtc material used on those tents are cool....but it's a layerd system of material. Not to good when pulled against itself via a gooie, gluie, substance like seem sealer coming out of a hot garage. My bad again. However, to make a long story longer, Cabela's gave me a straight up swap for my damaged one for a new one. THAT....was not supposed to happen. Im pretty sure a disgruntled employee gave me that deal then quit. I tried to get the same deal on my second one to get the upgrades and they pretty much told me to piss off. Hahahah....I'm good with that.... hahaha. But thanks for your video. Aaahhhh...have you looked at white duck canvas tents? I'm kinda interested there too. Pretty badass shit. They are cotton that you waterproof by soaking them with water. They are awesome. Bell style tents too look cool for glamping. Please reply bro. I dig this shit.

      I have an update video about snow on it. You should really clean it off or have enough heat it in to clean it for you. I had about 3-4 inches of snow then rain so it got heavy!!!! It bent 3 connector pieces on me. When did you purchase yours? Thanks for watching

    They should have put the stove jack on the wall instead of the roof.

      @David on their larger model they included the wall stove jack in addition to the roof one I believe. If they just had the wall one, no leaking from the roof would take place lol. Thanks for watching
