I miss Gideon too, but I feel like it might have helped the show in the longevity department. The team dynamic was so much built around him. Morgan even stated his surprise they were doing ok after only a case or two without him. His departure forced them to change that dynamic to more of a team vs a teacher. Saying as little as i can about Rossi, and where his character goes, I am glad they did not just replace Gideon with him in the same general role. His character can offer the experience without being the only voice that ultimately matters. It helps the story, and it fits a real life equation, where Gideon was probably there for every hire, and he trained them. Rossi is a colleague, a highly respected one, but still a colleague.
2:53 - a small dog is also a good alarm system. Big dogs tend to like everyone and can be easily lured away. A Pomeranian will scream to high heavens if someone approaches the house, his "mom" or himself.
I had a Rat terrier who would just start walking around the house barking at absolutely nothing even strangers like the mailman or garbage truck now I have a 13 yr old dog who also barks at nothing and a new 15 month old German shepherd all bark at everything and more

I've watched this show for years & just now realized Aaron Hotchner & Erin Strauss. Same sounding first names. I always liked Rossi! But Reid & Garcia are my favorites. Emily played a girlfriend of Joey's on Friends. I saw an interview on tv, with a man who spent time in prison for breaking in homes & stealing lots of $$ worth of property. He said one the best burglar alarms is a small dog. A large dog can be satisfied with a hunk of meat but a small dog will not shut up. What did you mean by "she just got eliminated from American Idol & you're really gonna do her like this?"?
I have unpopular opinion, not a fan of Rossi, to me he is blah, since you're not doing top 10, I will do one myself of agents we have so far: 1. Reid 2. Garcia/Morgan (love them equally, cannot decide who is better) 3. Gideon/Hotch (same as above) 4. Prentiss 5. JJ 6. Elle 7. Rossi and I would throw some bad guys in the mix 😂
