and the girl definitely is only acting out because of grief. if her father had gotten her into therapy, her behavior probably wouldn't have ever gotten this bad. she might have still been abusing substances, but otherwise it might've been alright (speaking from experience).

In Africa you always refer to your elders as mom or dad if they married or are old enough to be your parents and you always refer to youth older than you as brother or sister not by their name.

When they starting holding hands after Hannah’s detention I stared up cause you could tell how depressed and hopeless Hannah feels during school.
This was the most chill episode ever , these kids aren’t even that bad
The parents were kinda bad tho. They cared about the children but some of their caring values were harmful
I always skip the beginning and start to watch when they first meet the new family.

They said what they expect from them but, there was no shouting no screaming.And the change in those young adults was tremendus.

Batswana are known for being very peaceful and calm people, they strongly believe in resolving issue thru communication /talking,generally they dont believe in violence

You know, this family was actually very nice and gracious. They are just very set on their rules. I would love to spend time with this family! Although, I won’t be eating those worms lol. I think it was so sad that the teens found it painful to be nice. Shows that they hung out with the wrong crowd back in England.

This was one of the best episodes I've seen. The host family were awesome, the school was brilliant and the two teens were lovely. Especially Leigh. He put in so much effort. Hope they're all happy and doing well

When lee explained why he though she wasn’t joining in in the dancing he was so spot on! I felt that way in high school and that’s why I didn’t participate in gym for awhile
This was the best host family ever!! Such love and compassion but firmness in the way these parents handled each situation.
I like the whole washing each others hands thing. Idk why, I think its sweet. It shows you love your elders

I really think Lee is an amazing person. He's wonderful through and through. From the get go he entered that home with openness and willingness to try.
The other kids in the school loved him. He loved them back.

We lived in Botswana from 1998-2001. Much different than South Africa, but it was amazing. From the nature reserves to the kind kids at the preschool. We were very happy there. I still have stuffed donkey my parents bought me there. Great memories!

Once adults give in, another boundary and another boundary will be broken. Too much compromise by parents because the of the lack the perseverance to stick to their rules.
These teens are actually the nicest teens on this show. Yeah I get their behavior was not the best but all they needed was patience
They needed discipline.
That was the best episode ive watched with genuine results from two broken kids and not from wanting to be but from their environments. Good luck guys keeping wanting the best for yourselves regardless your environmental obstacles!

Both these kids and their new Botswana family are fantastic! The kids are some of the more insightful and mature kids we've seen on the show, and the host family as the most warm and welcoming, with the perfect balance of discipline.
When Hanna tried to debate and the principal stopped her dead in her tracks and said “ I’m not here to debate with you, report back here” Hannas face dropped like oh wait your not your to put up with my crap? Lol

This family is lovely and they must be so proud of their children. It was so nice to see all the school children so happy and getting so much out of it. This is how to bring up happy, confident and successful children. Without hitting them though!! We all could learn so much from other cultures. We might not agree with all their different views., but every culture has things to learn from.
