Down from His glory, Ever living story, My God and Savior came, And Jesus was His name. Born in a manger, To His own a stranger, A Man of sorrows, tears and agony. O how I love Him! How I adore Him! My breath, my sunshine, my all in all! The great Creator became my Savior, And all God’s fulness dwelleth in Him. 2 What condescension, Bringing us redemption; That in the dead of night, Not one faint hope in sight, God, gracious, tender, Laid aside His splendor, Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul. 3 Without reluctance, Flesh and blood His substance He took the form of man, Revealed the hidden plan. O glorious myst’ry, Sacrifice of Calv’ry, And now I know Thou art the great “I AM.”
Carl, This rendition is filled with class and graciousness. I'm singing it at my father's funeral this week and continue to find courage each time I listen to it. Extremely well done. Thank you.
I've had this song on my mind for days so I finally did a TH-cam search and found this video. This is the most beautiful version of this song that I've ever heard! Thank you for sharing such a blessing!
Your heartfelt worship comes through in this song. Touching. Yesterday we buried my mom (grandma by birth) and we played a recording of her singing this song 40 years ago. So I have just been reintroduced to this majestic hymn.
Thanks you for this song...it was on my mind today and after listening to it a dozen times by different singers...here is the best one...gives glory to our God and not the performer....my testimony for sure...my All IN ALL!
Really beautiful. Sung as the writer intended and NOT spoilt with ridiculous "interpretations" as so many singers do to "show off." Truly a pleasure to listen to !!! God Bless (from AUSTRALIA).
Carl, this popped up immediately after another video I was watching...totally unexpected. I notice this is from way back in 2013. Your selection, your interpretation, and the message really touched me. THANK YOU
I recentky heard your beautiful rendition of this wonderful old song on another video that credited you. I'm so happy to come hear and see you sing. You sing this song the way I always heard it when I was a child. The simplicity of the piano and smoothness of your voice makes this song so comforting. Your rendition magnifies the simplicity in the song's message: All is well, be still and know, the one loving Creator God came in the flesh to save us from our sin and Jesus was his name.
This is a very beautiful song and it explains how God (Spirit) robbed himself in flesh (Jesus) to bleed & die. " And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him (Jesus)". Eph 4:5 " One Lord One faith One Baptism." That doesn't leave any room for the Trinity man made doctrine. And there are many other scriptures in the 66 books of the Bible attesting to one God.
The Great Creator became my Saviour how amazing is that.
Hallelujah, bless the name of the Lord
beautiful song
Absolutely the best ❤
❤the Lord reigns over all good gifts unto men.

Amen and amen! Isaiah 9:6!
Amen... the fullness of the God dwells in Him.... Jesus is not in the Godhead! The Godhead is in Jesus.
Is this where just one cornetto got it’s tune from
