    I hope that you enjoy owning and driving your Landie - I had a 1963 Series IIA 109 - very similar looking to your vehicle. I kept it for 13 years - it was great to have when the family were growing up! The kids all love Landies - they never really forgave me for selling it but sadly it had come to the end of its life!

    Wonderful!! What a lovely sound that engine makes...brings back memories. Must get mine running again soon...

      When a Land Rover 2,25 litre engine is perfectly tuned, with electronic ignition upgrade, correct valve adustment and timing, it runs really smooth!

    I love the simplicity and utility of the 109s and 110s. Just remember , if you see a Ferrari while on the road, he most likely envies you in the 109. Yours has the sun shade roof and the alpine windows! Just the perfect look!👍
    Very very rare here in the U.S. I love it!

      They are quite rare in Sweden also, but it sure is a lovely car. Even though it's a shaky noisy and slow ride with heavy steering and little to no comfort, It always bring a smile to my face every time I drive it :)

      Since commenting 2 years ago, I have fallen victim to the Land Rover allure.
      My 1966 S2A gets more attention than any other vehicle I have ever owned. I love these things.
      Many smiles per mile!👌👍😊

    My favourite vehicle of all time. I have owned a similar Series III Station Wagon as well as a Defender Wagon and many Series I, IIa and III Land Rovers. The 2.286 litre four cylinder motor is great. A bit thirsty but quiet and quite torquey. The old 6 cylinder is smooth but pretty gutless and very thirsty. The four cylinder diesel is great if you are not in a hurry. These days I am driving a Discovery II with the td5 diesel motor. But then, when we really need to go somewhere, we have a Subaru Outback Diesel. It is brilliant. But I really miss my Series I 1952 80 inch which I restored from the chassis up.

    Be careful with how much you put on the roofracks Landrovers roll easily.If the left hand wheels leave the ground turn your wheel to the right and they will drop down.If the right hand wheels leave the ground turn to the left and they will drop down.I was quite skilled at driving my Landrover on two wheels it is very easy to do not that the passengers found it very enjoyable.

      Thanks for the heads up! I did not know this but looking at the car, with it's high point of gravity and narrow track it makes sense. Good thing it's a slow car

      If you want to buy a 109 wuth V8, you will have to buy a 109, Stage One ... they had V8 and the 4wd system the later 110's had. And, they are searched and expensive 🥺

    What brand is the side mirror on the wings? Never seen one like that before..

    • @mudden
      @mudden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was put on the car by a previous owner. There is a marking, "Auto Speed Copenhagen" but it's really an "Albert style" replica, so if you google "Albert wing mirror" you will find lot's of examples from different brands.

    Aaah Series motoring, it’s a left field driving experience…sort of like visiting the Mountains after a month living in a busy city.
    How did the electronic ignition work out?

    • @mudden
      @mudden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Driving the old Land Rover always brings a smile to my face🙂(and just about everyone that sees it in traffic)
      The electric ignition is absolutely brilliant, what a difference! The engine starts easier and runs smoother. I bought mine via simonbbc.com and they where very helpful. Remember that you also need to replace the coil if you convert the ignition!

      @@mudden thanks for the info…I have my eye on a petrol 109 here in the U.K. But I have spent the last 20 years driving diesel Land Rovers Discoveries

      @@andrewgulland3925 How are the prices and availability of old land rovers in the UK? Me, being from Sweden, can tell that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Series Land Rover in traffic so they are quite rare over here, although I know of some standing around rotting away behind barns. Also prices for nice ones are getting higher and higher.

    • @andrewgulland3925

      @@mudden I bought a 109 S3 Station Wagon in 2005 for £1000 the same road going version today would be worth from £8000 upwards. And though rare you can still find them but you don’t see them on the road so much…
      Only going from what I have seen on TH-cam I wonder if Land Rovers were more popular in Norway than Sweden ?

    • @mudden
      @mudden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewgulland3925 Might be that Land Rovers are more popular in Norway. I guess since Sweden had it's own two car brands, most cars here back in the days was either a Saab, or a Volvo. One thing I have noticed is however that Land Rover Defenders are really popular in Germany. Almost every Defender on the road in Sweden I see is with a German registration.
