    I just bought the new 2017 Ecoboost two days ago and always have the gas feature. This is a great fit for people who commute and have one child. I'm my opinion this is a great cross over for new time users to a small s.u.v. Interior is upscale and features are amazing. I like how it has a built in Sirius XM button.

    Dude, your videos totally rock the automotive presentations world! You're totally on to something big here and I like the way you cover everything while keeping it moving. I like the way you offer your personal comparisons on other similar vehicles. Great videography and details, features, specs, price etc. Don't stop and please keep up the great work. I and we (the rest of the world) need your expertise in this segment!

    60% of Escapes sold go to women. They look at cars differently. We bought a 2017 Titanium the end of September. We drove the Edge (which I liked) but my wife wanted another Escape. The lease on her 2015 SE was expiring. This one we purchased. I am a big guy and I didn't like 2015 because I felt cramped, especially on the passenger side. Couldn't get the power seat then. The newly reconfigured center console gives just the right amount of extra room and I love driving this one. Yes, the Escapes are a bit pricey, but if you are in that marketplace, a few bucks in either direction aren't going to sway you. One thing she doesn't like is that it is thirsty. She averaged 27 mpg on the 2015 with the 1.6L engine. We get 22-23 with the 2.0L on premium fuel.

    Nice Review. I like this car alot, but see the real benefit of the 2.0 engine being Escape as Tow Car. Word is out that Escape Rocks as Tow Car.

    Dude keep this up. The small attention to detail and knowledge of trim levels and cross shopping tips are what i wanted to hear... and i work at a damn dealership and this was just reiterating things i overlook. pricing for one, and packaging. idk. do you.

    Awd drives differently in dry weather. It's very rear biased launching from a stop or powering out of corners. Same thing with the sportage.

    • @carbuzzcom
      @carbuzzcom  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, AWD typically drives differently in dry conditions.

    same thing with the ford ranger truck and the mazda that was built in the Edison NJ assembly plant .I am a retiree and looking at the escape titanium now since I own 2 explorers from 2001 and feel now that I need a smaller vehicle .The prices are getting lower on the escape and more things are standard that are not standard in smaller crossovers that are noisy inside and charge more for options and the doors on some of the other crossovers feel flimsy when you open and close them .When you live in the south the vista roof heats up the vehicle .I prefer to not have one .The smaller engines can be gas savers but when you have all hills to drive like in VA it is like driving a lawn mower

    But do you want or need the options and what size vehicle do you need .The edge and explorer will go up with options just like any thing options cost .

    When you mentioned the 'new' Equinox by Chevrolet, as a competitor,..what about the towing capacity ? For those of us who'd like to tow our 'toys', this is an important point.

    • @7inchsoldier397
      @7inchsoldier397 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Escape has the best towing capacity in the compact class. If you get the tow package its rated to tow 3500lbs. Most of the others only tow 1500-2000lbs. Escape has the strongest power train. Mazda CX-5 tows 2000lbs. Forester tows 1500lbs. Not sure what the Chevy tows. At 6:54 he says the Escape tows 3500lbs.

    • @regsparkes6507
      @regsparkes6507 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, 7 inch soldier, he was correct. I just bought an Escape with the 'factory' towing package for 3500 lbs.
      and advertised 245 HP from a 2.0 litre turbo 4 cylinder. It's does seem to have plenty of 'get up and go', and so far the fuel economy is as expected at 8.7 litres per 100 km ( as you can see I'm in Canada) .
      SO I hope now that this one lives up to my expectations.
      Cheers!

    • @7inchsoldier397
      @7inchsoldier397 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some say the fuel economy is not the best on these Ford ecoboost engines, but I think they will probably do pretty well as long as you keep your foot out of it. A buddy of mine is thinking bout getting an Escape. Is yours front wheel drive or AWD? Does the tow package come with both FWD and AWD?

    • @regsparkes6507
      @regsparkes6507 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure, but I bought the AWD version as these vehicles usually have a better trade in value. At least in my 'neck of the woods.'

    • @7inchsoldier397
      @7inchsoldier397 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      True you guys get a lot of snow. We're down in Texas. Don't really need AWD.

    Does anyone know what package has the paddle shifters? I have a 2018 titanium escape 2.0 and no paddle shifters. Every titanium escape video review I've watched all have paddle shifters.

    • @LastMumzy
      @LastMumzy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you have to have the ecoboost engine to have the paddle shifters

      dave chappelle i think they cheaped out as my 2019 Titanium with 2.0 Ecoboost also does not have them. They also had LED rear tail lights on the 2017 with an amber turn signal. My 2019 does not have any LED tail lights and the turn signal is not amber. Since the 2017 is the same as the 2019 I don’t know why this change was made.

    That infotainment screen looks awkward to use. They should of put the control wheel on center console. Also the interior looks cheap.

      Mazda makes dated interiors? Dude, I think the last Mazda you must've sat in was a 1998 Millenia. And no, I'm not biased towards any make or model (OK, maybe the Mazda Miata). I just call 'em how I see them, cars I mean.

    This car is really the worst car in this segment. I heard so much about the escape online that I went for a test drive. Cheap chinese like plastic all over the car. Just go and feel the plastic at the back door handles inside. All over the materials are very cheap. The 2 L turbo is not at all responsive and it doesnt have a linear acceleration, very jerky. At the dealership, I didnt see a single customer...totally empty...and this is in California...There are good things about this car too but that has been talked about at various forums already....stands no chance against the cx-5

    • @tommytruth7595

      The ecoboost engine is to be avoided.

    • @bmw803
      @bmw803 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      and other companies dont use that same plastic? in had a 2013 jetta and it was hard plastic all over the place. its all the same with all of them

    • @rlwainwright
      @rlwainwright 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      "The 2 L turbo is not at all responsive..." WTF?! I was immediately impressed when I put my boot to the wood with the 2.0L Escape that I drove. The motor is *very* responsive. That's to be expected when you have over 200 lb. ft. torque available from 2k RPM and above. Your "not at all responsive" comment is not to be believed. Have you actually driven one?

      Vikram Malhotra worst in the segment?, bahahaha! This dusts the competition. Some things have to be hard plastic for durability. Tell us what it’s supposed to be. You want soft door handles? Everything in the vehicle cannot be soft.
