      Thanks, Judy. Like I explained to George, below, I thought the video presentation needed to be 'mood mapped'!

    Great camera work again. Liked the bear.

      Thanks, Rick. The bear had actually traveled from the right side of the road before crossing then into the field. In my other Cades Cove videos I do have some with bears crossing directly in front of me. The zoom image was captured while hand-holding the camera. I need to start carrying my tripod(s), I generally have several on hand for these situations. Besides, the extra weight (of tripods) gives me a better work-out................; ug!

      Did you used to have a coiled tether attached to your canopy for your camera? I thought I saw one in the mirror in one of your older videos.

      Good eyes! Yes, I used it for years but I couldn't keep the mechanical connections (snaps & hooks) from making noise. Then I had issure with the mic wiring picking up noise and even now there are some noises produced if the mic wind-muff brushes up against something, even if it's from my touch. The hook that hangs from the tether bar is where I hang the camera when not in use; it rests on my chest.
      The noise that the mic picks up is actual noise generated from being 'trapped' under the canopy. I generally don't deaden the sound because some is natural. I may ease off on the Db (loudness) so listening to the video is more comfortable.

      This video is NOT about shortcuts or bargains, but rather enjoying the moment. FYI: The last light I purchased listed for well over $200US......., I figured it was a wise investment because it just might help protect me so I can enjoy tomorrow! Best wishes with your build.

      That wouldn't pay for one of my lights......., without a battery!

      What are the grades like on the loop?

    • @LogNotching
      @LogNotching  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was asked that the other day! There are a couple of 15% rather short downhills but the uphills are longer and more gradual (some at 8%?). If you study the layout, the 1st half of the 11-mile loop is downhill, the 2nd half returns to the start, uphill. Water flows in the direction of the 1st half.

      LogNotching Thanks again. I have a lot of training to do. 😉 I'll plan on next summer.

      Thanks, George. It was such a peaceful day to ride the 'Cove'; I wanted to capture that with 'natural' sound.

    Yay, Ed's posted another beautiful ride! The bear and the raven were an extra bonus. Was that a Park Service guy there where the bear was? Making sure people didn't get too close. Sweety says we can go to Pigeon Forge. It's a long way from Utah but it would be worth it if we could "hook up" with you for a ride. She wants to know when is the best time of year; spring or fall. Had knee trouble this winter so didn't get much riding done. Hope it goes away when the weather warms up. Thanks Ed for another great ride!

      Wow, Bob! Tell yer 'Sweety' thanks for a very kind gesture. Would love to have ya down....., no particular time but will definitely need to coordinate because I do travel around.
      I may try to pt something together around the Dolly's Homecoming Parade weekend. I'm researching the possibilities. Mark your calendar for May 4, 2018 (parade evening), perhaps May 3*-6*, 2018 (* mid-day). Send me an email so I can keep you posted. Thanks for your interest.

      Thanks Ed! It would even be fun to do the parade if they allow "out-a-towners". Thanks for getting back to me, Will keep in touch.

    What's the flag on the front for?

    • @LogNotching
      @LogNotching  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, days are 'windows of opportunity' to find something to enjoy.
      The flag serves several purposes including personalization of the equipment (trike), it helps to catch the attention of those around you (don't run over me!), and this particular flag is flown to help bring attention to indigenous peoples around the world: th-cam.com/video/m_6cfBzuHrA/w-d-xo.html

    My Comment in regards to Truffles is this; White Truffles are a type of mushroom that is a deli case the current price on White Truffles is around $240.00 or more per ounce. I am a Chef and so truffles are a cherished commodity.

    do you go camping thare ?

    • @LogNotching
      @LogNotching  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't camp on the 11-mile loop but there is a nice (& big) campground available near the loop road exit where I have tent-camped. In the Summertime when you ride the loop road there are critters all around, you can see their eyes. But the thing that bothers me most are the snakes (Copperheads more than likely) that are on the warm pavement.

      I about ran over a rattle snake last summer (thought it was a stick in the road) fortunately going fast enough that when he lunged he almost got my back tire. Whew!
