I will be 62 in May! In my career, I always was conservative in my appearance. Now it is my time to let my alter ego play! Thanks, you are just the encouragement I need to break my old trend, that I always hated! I appreciate you!
Victoria Cool Taz I did it while Monique was doing it... so liberating to not be chained to hair dye! Saving money, and my hair is in the best shape ever!!! compliments abound!! DO IT!
wickeddollz ... if you go to beauty supply store, (mine is Sally's), ask for and buy purple shampoo. it kills the yellowy shades and plays up the white/gray of your hair. I promise you will love it!
Yes I absolutely can see a difference it is subtle but there. When you were in the sun and moved your head it did pick up a bit of the aqua in the sun glasses. And with just that little hint of color, it brought out your beautiful eyes. Magnificent!
it makes sense. this acted like a blue toner shampoo and made your hair looks more sparkly, but still white and silver. I have naturally platinum hair at this point and I use them to keep my color sharp . looked good!
After growing out my hair my natural grey for 8 months I caved in today! lol. I've been thinking for a few days that I was not feeling happy with the hair. I woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and did not want my hair grey anymore. I felt old, the grey washed out my face, and I just felt ugly. So went to salon, dyed it brown. I feel so much better, my skin looks better now. Look younger too. At least I tried it. It was good to not have to dye my hair for 8 months, but I'm just not ready to be grey yet. Maybe when I'm 60 I will try it again. It was a pretty grey color and my hair felt silky and healthy. I'm 55 almost 56. :)
Thanks, its kind of a reddish brown, I wanted it more chocolate brown color. But it's very pretty. The lady that usually does my hair was off today, so I went somewhere else and you know what happens when you do that! haha. But it's pretty.
I shaved my head 2 years ago, to get rid of all the coloring and let my natural gray come back in. unfortunately, I still had more shades of brown and blonde still that was over powering my grays. Don't get me wrong, I did the whole gray thing prior and loved it, and my natural gray is the pretty silvery gray :) but there just wasn't enough and so the brown, blonde and gray together made me look and feel older too (and I was only 46 lol) sure enough tho, as much as I wanted to stop coloring and let my hair be.....I went back to changing it all up again! this time....I do the fun colors, purples, orchids, blues, jades...etc. I'll try the whole natural gray thing again at a much later age in life :)
It's a tough decision, isn't it? I'm 56, and I'm likely about 50% grey now. I dye my hair a medium brown, similar to my original ĉolour, but I'm bad at not doing it often enough to prevent an inch or so of roots every few months ! I contemplated letting it go, but I have long hair, so it would take some time. I have two weddings to attend (a friend's in August, and my niece's in September), and it would not be looking good by then, I imagine! I also fear it would age me, although it doesn't seem to do that for Monique! I guess we'll know when the decision is right for us, eh?! Take care, Sherrey in Southern Ontario💗
Hi Sherrey. I clicked through a saw your lovely picture. I think you should keep your lovely brunette hair. It's thick and healthy and truly your crowning glory . I think you would not feel like yourself to make such a radical change before two big events. Monique's hair looks wonderful, but I think if I were you I wouldn't change it until you have another issue with it, like it thins out or something like that. I am 59 and am a bit hair challenged with thin blond hair that's fairly damaged and if I had hair as nice as yours I would be so happy. In fact, I just shot a youtube video earlier this evening about the fact that I'm getting a Brazilian blow-out to try and make my hair look like it's smoother and in better condition like yours. It worked out pretty well so far. Fingers crossed!! Bless you sweetie. I know you will ROCK both those weddings! XXXOOO Beth
Thank you so much, Beth! That was so thoughtful of you to respond to my comment, and I appreciate your kind words! You've made my day! I actually had over 13+ inches of length cut off my very long hair in January, because I just needed a new style; it's still long, but a bit easier to manage. I was also researching the different keratin treatments, similar to a Brazilian blow-out, because my hair had become frizzy, likely due to the change in texture of the greying hair. I tried so many different shampoos, conditioners, etc, but no improvement. Last summer, I did find a straightening brush that I use after washing, and air-drying my hair, and it does straighten my hair, and the frizz is totally gone until it is washed again. Thankfully, I don't have to wash my hair frequently; this hasn't damaged my hair, and heat protectant spray, plus argan oil -containing shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, and plain argan oil applied to my ends has helped my hair stay shiny, and healthy. I'm not going to get a keratin treatment just now, but I hope it works really well for you! It would probably be really helpful if you live in an area where humidity is an issue in the summer, like it is here in Southern Ontario! I'm also a real hat lover, so I will definitely do so to the August wedding. My niece 'pulled a fast one', and her wedding is at 5 pm, so I will have to figure out what to do, not being able to don one of my hats! Maybe I will research getting an 'updo' done, and wear a piece of hair jewellery instead! Now that I know you also make TH-cam videos, I will go subscribe to your channel, and I look forward to enjoying your content! Thanks again, Beth, and have a lovely week, Sherrey💗
I could definitely tell a difference! Although it didn't dye your hair blue, it did make your gray brighter, if that's the word for it. Your hair looked more vivid, shinier--it just really "popped" on camera. Very flattering. I used to use violet shampoo when I had my hair platinum blonde in order to banish any hint of yellow and keep it an icy cool white color, but if I used it too often, my hair would start to have a slightly violet cast to it. If you want more color, let it sit on your hair longer, like regular dye, so that it gets a good chance to deposit.
You inspired me to let my gray grow out. I persevered for 3 months and the grow out was a good 2-2 1/2" long....and them I caved! Felt like I was fading away. But I think yours looks great on you!
Definitely, it seems to have removed any residual brassy-ness that silver hair can tend to acquire and it's really brought out the blue of her eyes even more, like the softness of the tint in her hair intensified everything else.
I believe it left a lovely "tone" on your hair and gave a really pretty brightness. I think a coral pink would look gorgeous with your skin and eye color!
Honestly it looks more silver afterwards and it looks nice! Just found you last night (purple hair/makeup vid) and I love your videos. Thanks for making them! ♡
No no no! I did the same thing with my pastel pink colorwash! You must leave it on for about 3-5 minutes for a subtle, gorgeous tone! Can't wait to see the final product!
I think with your lovely silver hair it's more of a toning shampoo. It did brighten your hair and reduce the yellow tones . I could definitely see that . The price on that is a bit steep if you have a Sallys beauty supply around you I'm sure you could find something equally nice at a better price point . 😀 Tasha
Hi Monique! I would say it brightens up the silver. I guess if you applied it and left it on for 15-30 minutes before rincing, maybe it would show a little more? I used to do that with my blue shampoo and it worked!
Love it! Even though it's subtle, it makes the silver bright & shiny and your (already gorgeous) blue eyes pop. Tried talking friends into joining my revolution when we all hit 50. They stared at me like I was speaking a foreign language. Little did they know silver, white, blue & purple would be all the rage a decade later. (chickens lol) Got a late start (54), but am on the freedom train. Silver, using Purple as low lights over stubborn old stain. (Weird, the battle used to be the stubborn gray). Now, same friends look at me as though I'm an alien. Caring about that is waaay low on my priority list. Besides, the young people love it & it's probably the only return I'll ever see from sending my daughter to Salon School! Absolutely love your bravery & upbeat attitude!!!
My sister is a stylist and just gave me some pink color-deposit shampoo. You def shouldn't use it every day as it will hurt the scalp; but it needs to be left on for 5+ minutes before rinsing for best results. She gave my some pink to use, as my hair is now baby Pink (from bleached platinum). I should add, you look stunning in this video! That lippy is great with your coloring.
A lot of those shampoos are made more for hair that's been bleached, cuticle on the hair shaft would be more open because bleach dries the hair out, so the color would grab. I think your hair is gorgeous the way it is! 😉If you really want to do a color a temporary rinse would work better!
I loved your hair in the sun! it does show but as you say, it's VERY subtle. I have also decided not to dye my hair either but I'm 61 this year and I only have a streak of silver at the parting (on my right side) but it looks like I'll die with salt and pepper hair! Might get it bleached to match yours, because I love your lavender wig!!
It definitely brightened & removed brassiness, Monique. I saw the pale blue tinge out in the sunlight. That said, I'll stick with a toning *conditioner* mixed w/coconut oil as a mask. Blessings! Jackie in NY state
You are definitely brave to do this for us, thanks! I didn't see a color difference either on you. It does seem brighter though unless that's just the camera. All I know is your are as beautiful as ever!
Hi Monique. I just came across your channel and have been binge watching all of your videos. Enjoying them very much. I am now subscribed so I don't miss any of them. ~Jackie from Indiana
Yes, I could see the blue in the tips of your hair. Interesting. Would be interesting in lavender. Love your videos and your wonderful personality! You always make my day. Huge hugs and Happy Easter.
OMG, I nearly had heart failure when you started talking about it, knowing how you need to use only very temporary colours when working! I've had some bad experiences with blue that somehow has a green base and it went that bright mermaid green that was the devil to get out.
It just made your hair look a brighter silver. You can make your own colored shampoo by mixing regular shampoo with semi permanent dye. I do that and tint my conditioner too.
Your hair is toned!! Going through the same stuff with my hair. Use to keep it red also. Saw you in a lifetime movie about a BAD nannie. I was so excited. You were the grandmother and had fixed your grandson pancakes.
I think that particular color would be great for taking out the yellow tones that develop in gray hair. While your hair didn't look blue, it took on a very becoming whiteness. They sell purple & blue shampoos for that purpose, but they're usually pretty harsh. If this is milder, I would so pay that much for it.
I use Attic Fox Hair dye and put it in some of my good shampoo. When I shampoo my hair, I let the mixture sit on my head for a few minutes then rinse. It comes out beautiful. I just want a cast to my hair, not an outrageous color. I chose the purple. :)
I could see blue ends when you held up the white paper! Very subtle, but there :) I think you should keep using it to keep your lovely silver from getting a yellow cast from product :)
I'm old enough to remember when bluing was used in the wash to offset the yellow; blue rinse for hair was used the same way, but when overused created the proverbial "blue haired old ladies" people talked about.
I think the problem with experimental colors or shampoos is that the companies don't have the ability to make the formula hold for a long time yet .like they do with the natural colors.Perhaps with more time, this will happen. It sure will make the people happy who want their. green, blue, orange, ect to stay that way. This shampoo did make your hair brighter, looked nice.
LOL Love this Monique. In certain lighting you actually see a slight teal highlight. It's pretty! Let us know how your experimenting with your hair colour goes! hahaha. I just got myself some nifty face products. Ponds cream for dry skin, Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser and Nivea Cleansing Cream for dry skin and Wow what a huge different! I don't use foundation because I was having so many issues. I now use Super CC powder foundation and concealer to colour correct my one patch of dark colour on my eyelid and my bad dark under eyes. I got a nice Freeman Gel Peel Off masks in Pomegranate for renewing the skin and Cucumber mask for refreshing and my Clay firming mask by St. Ives. I spent a little more for my face. Loving it. 😍😘 You are amazing girl friend and so beautiful!
You look great! I am not ready to go grey yet (not sure how to handle the "in between" time) but when I do I will know it is going to be ok. BTW, you do not look like you have done any plastic surgery to look so good. If so, it is extremely subtle and natural looking. I think though that you are totally natural and just have kept in good health.
Monique, If you'll apply it to dry hair, let it sit for 5 minutes and the add the water and shampoo as regular, you may pick up more of the blue. Think of your hair like a sponge. Just a retired hairstylist trying to think of why it didn't work for ya. It may also do best on hair where the cuticle is open from a previous color. Hey, wait, also try hitting your hair with some heat during or before applying, and rinse with cool water. Ok, I'll shut up now. 🤐🤐
My hair looks exactly like yours all natural - and I've been using L'Oreal® Paris Colorista Semi-Permanent Hair Color. Also not for gray hair however, it leaves enough of a color deposit to last 4 or so shampoos. I've used pink and indigo quite effectively. They also sell a remover in case you need it out of your hair asap.
I live the idea of a a bit of color.....didn't see much of a change in your hair , it seems the blue gave your gray a more settle color like toner would ....love your hair...
I was told you can also get purple hue in your hair by using a purple shampoo and leaving it on longer. I haven't tried it but have been curious. I am all white with some silver and I really like Joico Color Endure, the violet shampoo for keeping my hair looking less yellowish. I thought the color next to your script looked less blue and more yellow but that could have been my computer screen.
That is expensive for sure but I think ur hair looks great! I can see a difference. Ur hair is brighter and more shiny. I love it! Of course I'm using Arctic Fox semipermanent dye to tint my gray. It's a bit more intense than ur shampoo but it's vegan, cheaper and I love it!
Hey! I love your videos and your sincerity😆 I started my going gray journey just before christmas. I'm a natural red head, but covering the grays for about 10yrs leaves the grow out very blah. I've been to 2 hair stylists and we can't manage to pull it completely to the white without completely frying my hair. I'm left with a mix of the yellow blonde (better than the orange from the first bleaching) and a whiter blonde towards the ends which makes me crazy. When i use a purple shampoo the white grabs the purple so for a couple of days I'm purple & yellow. It doesnt look bad on a day to day basis it's just not what I wanted it to be. I got a picture in my head and want to get there. I have to keep myself from trying to "fix" it. I cant do anything with the color because of the yellow and toners don't do much. It's very frustrating and to add to it my daughter is getting married in june . I have to keep reminding myself better yellow than bald. I know I'm rambling I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your videos and thank you for letting all of us watch your journey 💙
On the Celeb Luxury website, the visual effects for their pastel blue product, on bleached hair, is an ice blue in the picture, so it's a lot lighter than pastel blue to me. You probably would have noticed some residual colour if you used the shade 'Extreme Blue'! Apparently, it's supposed to be cumulative as well, depending on the number of shampoos done in a row. Then again, how much dye is really in its formulation, eh? Does it recommend you wear gloves when using it?! It might also be a difficult shade to distinguish with grey, or silver. If you had tried a pink, yellow, or green, for example, it might have been easier to see the colour as it wouldn't blend into your natural shade, perhaps. It is a little pricey, but if you got a bright purple dye job for your hair, and this shampoo contributed to keeping your colour vibrant, and it prevented any fading, it would probably be well worth it, plus, it's also a shampoo too, right?! Hope you are having a great week, missie! Love, and hugs, Sherrey💟💗💟
I am learning so much from you about beauty techniques. Thanks. I wonder if you need to do several applications of the tint. (P.S. thanks for the nutrition vids too. I am watching all of them. I own a vitamixer too. )
It's always nice to try something new. It's very faint and you can see it better when you're in the sun. What color is it when it comes out of the bottle? Did I miss that part?
I will be 62 in May! In my career, I always was conservative in my appearance. Now it is my time to let my alter ego play! Thanks, you are just the encouragement I need to break my old trend, that I always hated! I appreciate you!
I could see the difference right away! After the 2nd one, it's a silvery blue, and I love it!
It makes your hair more vibrant and your eyes pop
maybe you don't notice a difference, but your hair looks more vibrant to me :)
if anything, it seems to have added a lot more body to your hair!
it's cool how very "go with the flow" you are! yep those are expensive, but you are worth it! I'm living vicariously through your boldness!
I like the subtle change this blue gives to your hair. Not only does it make your eyes pop but it really enhances your face.
The blue in your hair looks very nice! It makes your hair more even in tone. I like it on you.
That made your hair a beautiful titanium silver pearl color. It looked amazing in the sun! I can't believe you don't like this shampoo
Honestly the color enhanced your white hair beautifully!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just Love your videos!!!
I'm going to embrace my "white/silver" hair.
Fearless and Fabulous!
Victoria Cool Taz I did it while Monique was doing it... so liberating to not be chained to hair dye! Saving money, and my hair is in the best shape ever!!! compliments abound!! DO IT!
YAY!!! I am doing too...old pic to the left...I have not died since this last new years eve. Can't wait!
I wish my grey's would be silver like that mine is just a dull yellow :( I would totally embrace my grey
wickeddollz ... if you go to beauty supply store, (mine is Sally's), ask for and buy purple shampoo. it kills the yellowy shades and plays up the white/gray of your hair. I promise you will love it!
Thank you Leah :) I may try at the moment I am dying it all kinds of interesting colours!
The suttle blue in your hair brings out the blue in your eyes! Gorgeous🔷
Yes I absolutely can see a difference it is subtle but there. When you were in the sun and moved your head it did pick up a bit of the aqua in the sun glasses. And with just that little hint of color, it brought out your beautiful eyes. Magnificent!
I actually really like the outcome! Ringlight looks awesome aswell!

I can deffinately see you blue tint. Can't wait to see the pink!

I love your videos. They are so much fun to watch. Grey hair is so versatile. You can change your look so easily.
Yes, Monique, when you put the white paper behind your hair I saw a definite section, small, at the tip that was definitely blue. I like.
I really like the blue hue. It livens up the hair just a bit, but not overly dramatic!
i really liked the hair after, maybe it was the ring light but its a subtle change but very flattering and i love you with minimal eye makeup aswell
You inspired me to let my gray grow out. I persevered for 3 months and the grow out was a good 2-2 1/2" long....and them I caved! Felt like I was fading away. But I think yours looks great on you!

it looked brighter....more refreshed!

blue tones yellows, so yes it made her hair look more silver and I think its pretty.
I like it! I'm going to give it a try. Thank you for letting us know this product exists!
I believe it left a lovely "tone" on your hair and gave a really pretty brightness. I think a coral pink would look gorgeous with your skin and eye color!
I like it! It looks like an wintery blue, like ice. If I had gray hair, I would try it to brighten it up.
I can see it! I see the blue. But it is faint and overall -it seems to make your hair a more silvery color. Pretty.
Love your energy and spunk!! Just started watching your videos a week ago and I love them!!!

Thank you for trying this out and sharing. I bought extreme purple this afternoon and was a little hesitant to try. Think I will give it a try now.
I think that this color gave your hair a nice, brightening cast. Nothing crazy, very elegant.
have you ever tried adding a small bit of dye to conditioner for a pastel look? they're temporary and fade within a week.

Checkout overtone conditioners, I did the pastel pink which worked on my highlights. Super fun. Dry hair picks up more pigment

Hey Monique, was a very subtle with the color but,OMG love what the new light did to your eyes very cool. : )

Overtone is a good one as well. Especially to help make blondes silver with their silver shampoo. They have dye as well.
I think that particular color would be great for taking out the yellow tones that develop in gray hair. While your hair didn't look blue, it took on a very becoming whiteness. They sell purple & blue shampoos for that purpose, but they're usually pretty harsh. If this is milder, I would so pay that much for it.
It definitely made your eyes more blue - maybe one of the other colors would bring out the green in them more - as usual, you look gorgeous!
I use Attic Fox Hair dye and put it in some of my good shampoo. When I shampoo my hair, I let the mixture sit on my head for a few minutes then rinse. It comes out beautiful. I just want a cast to my hair, not an outrageous color. I chose the purple. :)
I think the color wash made the silver in your hair look crisper. I think it looks great.
love it Monique! soft and prettier than before and very subtle! lol
the purple one works well on gray hair, I did that when I had my gray colored hair. it lasted over a month with only 3 reaplys
I could see blue ends when you held up the white paper! Very subtle, but there :) I think you should keep using it to keep your lovely silver from getting a yellow cast from product :)
I see a difference in your hair. It looks brighter white and refreshed.
I'm old enough to remember when bluing was used in the wash to offset the yellow; blue rinse for hair was used the same way, but when overused created the proverbial "blue haired old ladies" people talked about.
Omg your channel is everything i need!!! Ive been wanting to try Celeb Luxury Viral
the hair looked refreshed, I like the result
you looked pretty with the subtle blue. I liked it.
I can tell the color. it is light but your hair is gorgeous
I have a video on the lavender one from this brand. It came out really purple on my blonde extensions, and I bit more muted on my blonde hair.
Monique your hair looks brighter. So all good. Dawn from the UK. xxxxx
While the color is very faint, you can see the color & on the grey it is very pretty!
You look great! I am not ready to go grey yet (not sure how to handle the "in between" time) but when I do I will know it is going to be ok. BTW, you do not look like you have done any plastic surgery to look so good. If so, it is extremely subtle and natural looking. I think though that you are totally natural and just have kept in good health.
good morning from the UK Monique. I most often watch your videos whilst getting ready for work ..it's 7am here and sunny :)
that is exactly how they are supposed to be used to deposit pigment instead of maintaining colour.
Your silver hair suits you! Beautiful :)
Matrix brass off mask is good!! Or purple shampoo leave it on dry hair for about 10 min
Hey! I love your videos and your sincerity😆
I started my going gray journey just before christmas.
I think it looks amazing, exactly baby blue
i really like it on your hair!!!
Love it , makes the hair brighter
I just found your videos, and I love them...Hello from Nova Scotia Canada!
Love, and hugs, Sherrey💟💗💟
fit you really well, very sophisticated.
I am learning so much from you about beauty techniques. Thanks. I wonder if you need to do several applications of the tint. (P.S. thanks for the nutrition vids too. I am watching all of them. I own a vitamixer too. )
Actually, I think it toned your hair beautifully. It gave it a more blue silver cast.
yes, it's pale baby blue and the Bob looks great today.
Monique Parent, my hairdresser suggests washing with lavender shampoo every three weeks to keep your silver bright and shiny (prevents yellowing).
What are some good color wash shampoos for white/silver hair? Thank you
I think it made a difference, and your hair looks very shiny and pretty. What lip color do you have on ?? I love it ! x
It may not have turned out the way you thought but it did give your hair a gorgeous sheen though.
It's always nice to try something new. It's very faint and you can see it better when you're in the sun. What color is it when it comes out of the bottle? Did I miss that part?
Love the sunnies where o where did you get them?
