I don’t think that Wilhelm was lying to himself or still figuring himself out. I think he knows exactly who he is and what he wants, but he’s boxed in by his situation and expectations placed upon him. And now with Erik’s death, those pressures have magnified dramatically as the future king.
Yeah, he's not really figuring himself out. He know he likes Simon. But he is also purposefully unlabeled. The writer didn't want to give him a gay or bi or pan label..because its totally okay if you don't want to lable yourself as anything! You don't HAVE to. So it's intentional...but yeah, he fully know he likes Simon
1. Notice how Eric used gender neutral language when asking about the crush??? 2. August had the resources. His mother tells him to sell something to pay his bills. He just doesn’t think he should have to.
There was another reason August didn't want to sell any of it. It would make him lose his status as a rich noble, and it would effectively make him lose face in front of all his peers.
i think most people dislike august. the actor is perfect, the way he does the smug faces, so well, even with language barrier you can just tell how he is
Yes Wilhelm just lost his brother, the only person that he truly adored, he his now the crown prince, for a 16 year old prince that's just too much pressure now, Edvin the prince in real life he was just 17 when filming YR) it's a great story lots of twists and turns will keep you involved but it's a great love story can't wait to see your reaction 👍
also the fact that before getting that call Wilhelm talked to his brother about not going home that weekend and that being their last conversation breaks my heart everytime I think about it
When i tell you i GASPED so loud when the news about Erik dropped. As someone who lost an older brother myself in a hit and run that shit hit me like a ton of bricks. Especially the one scene in the next episode with the empty seat at the dinner table. It's so abrupt and you're expected to just continue functioning like everyone else when you just feel so empty. Like all of a sudden this person just isn't there anymore, and they're not coming back. It's insane.
And here we are with the plot twist ;). It is NOT getting easier. I love your reviews and looking very much forward to e4 (THE best one thought, even if all eps are f* amazing).
I like how this show kinda also goes into the class difference between Simon being poor and Wilhelmina a prince royalty and wealthy and who they show how Simon challenges the status quo and how his life is different a lot of American shows could learn a thing or two cause i swear Netflix foreign original show writers never disappoint they should be booked and busy
And they are more real...young actors playing their age, skin problems which teens have and they dont all look like walking models. Shows from Scandanavia are very authentic..🙏
With the death of Erik, Wilhelm is also the next in line for the throne meaning even more pressure on him with figuring out his sexuality and whether he wants to be with Simon or not.

And I always thought that Wille was never figuring himself out, his issue was more about his image, he's royalty, there are expectacion about him and being with a guy it's not one of them

Simon is no angel. Stealing the pikks was wrong, no matter what his dad did. Grades are not a reason to become a drug dealer. While they're not like hard drugs or anything, so it's not nearly as bad'as it could be, you still shouldn't be passing around medication.

Erik knew his brother want straight and nothing anyone says can convince me otherwise. He knew and he didn’t care.
I think August can't let go of his father's heritage, not just for sentimental but obvious status reasons, too

I think when wilhelm declined the call when talking to Simon I think it was Erik trying to call him
