The mayor of my town is a customer of mine, and early in her career as mayor she was a bit shady in her city dealings along with the police chief - like you see in a lot of these videos. So whenever anybody ever asked or complained about not being able to contact her or get a response from her, I would send them her full contact info. She was really pissed at first, but she is still a customer and eventually took it in stride as the cost of being mayor and became more transparent and easier to contact.
At around the 12:30 mark, PNHN points out that very fact and the look on the male cops face and him literally scratching his head as if PNHN's comment didn't compute is very telling. I'm thinking that cops are so pre-conditioned to believe the caller especially if that caller is another government employee (i.e. one of their own kind) and their tendency to want to escalate everything into a crime, is a real problem.

If we (collectively) down-sized them it'd end up taking at least twice as long to get anything done. I dealt with mid-level & lower state/local bureaucracts for over a decade and the lack of motivation was quite apparent. There were some dedicated people but not overwhelmingly. Some places were far better than others although I doubt but a few were knowledgeable about civil liberties and their responsibilities towards them. JMHO
They love to try to protect people right to privacy in places that right doesn't exist....but regularly try to violate others right to exercise their right to free press.

There are enough Karen's in the private sector as well, sadly. Especially when or where the 'owner' is not on the work floor. To fire them isn't the solution, they need to be educated, selected properly, made aware of their tasks, etc. This is an American cultural problem, being confrontational in every regard, in every situation, while collectively proclaiming the opposite. There are bad public servants all over the world, but usually intentional, and not in denial.

The first officer was okay, but still had trouble with feelings. The second officer was a joke. She deserved what she got. Respect is always earned. If we (collectively) down-sized them it'd end up taking at least twice as long to get anything done.
I dealt with mid-level & lower state/local bureaucracts for over a decade and the lack of motivation was quite apparent. There were some dedicated people but not overwhelmingly. Some places were far better than others although I doubt but a few were knowledgeable about civil liberties and their responsibilities towards them.

I'm quite certain that identical behavior from members of the public would not be tolerated or waved away with a simple, "Oh, they're probably nervous." It's always different when it's them. Accountability is nonexistent, and apart from independent media, the corruption is either completely ignored or covered up. This country is failing badly, and unless things drastically change, there's not much hope.

I’m 4:00 mins in an just had an epiphany while reading the comments. Consensus in the comments is to fire these rude people. This must be why the private sector is not like this, they get weeded out immediately and do not interact with the people more than once, if the owner wants to stay in business.
There are enough Karen's in the private sector as well, sadly. Especially when or where the 'owner' is not on the work floor.
To fire them isn't the solution, they need to be educated, selected properly, made aware of their tasks, etc.
