- Bolt Action second edition is finally here! In the form of the new Band of Brothers starter set! Hooray!
In this video I have a look at all the things that come in this new starter set from warlord games, tell you what I think about those things and assemble some of the shiny new US Airborne figures.

Thanks for the vid. Finally decided to jump in to Bolt Action. lol Just ordered this and a US infantry box and a German infantry box. Looking forward to assembling and hopefully getting a game to the tabletop.
Once I get a job and start saving enough money, this will be a tempting set for me to buy...
I really hoped you'd take a look at this because it looked really cool
First.. but more importantly i really like the set; the packaging is nice and i like the inclusion of all the lecture... the Figures look great as usual, and i especially like the inclusion of a pigeon.. it really adds to the set. That halftrack will build and paint up quite nicely.. Overall this set works best as advertised... as a starter-set
Great video! Got the box today. You can highlight the numbers on the red markers with a waterproof overheadprojector pencil too ;)

Great video. I picked up the box set myself and think its great value. Not 100% sold on the paratroopers, only from a historical perspective with the Market Garden uniforms and D-day haircuts
right, I think there design is also on the more heroic side as I prefer the much cooler looking standard paras, the machete was a little much with the enlarged head and weird features it made it look like a group of severely burned Airfix Australian Infantry

Use document protectors to put the pages into a binder.

I know I'm more than a bit late but, the same sort of thing happened to my 3rd ed flames of war book with the text starting to early. I just suffered and had to use context clues to find out what the words where but it worked fine
Get plastic sheet sleeves that are already ring bounded then you just simply slip the pages in.
Personally though i prefer having the pdf books on a tablet, easier to book mark and flip through also.
How long until we can see an 'update' kind of vidoe. It doesn't matter how good they look, only to see where you are up to and how much you have assembled/painted. Great review by the way, it's inspired me to get the starter set

What would be your thoughts on playing Bolt Action vs playing Flames of War?
I did not yet get into any of them I have some 1 to 72 models ... Bolt Action seems to have larger and Flames of War smaller miniatures ...

Herbert, I am planning on getting mah first infantry set, but what type of wargaming brands should I buy? Especially in 1:72 scale :/
Oh, btw you got me in the beginning until I saw the "I'm so funny" subtitle.
I don't know a whole lot about 1:72 scale, but plastic soldier's stuff in other scales is always good. The trumpter T-34 I did was a nice model.
You must make this journey yourself. Or something :)

What about Italeri quick build kits ?
The website shows plenty of kits for all armies (and i know im late on late reply lol,but wanted to sneak in here)
(T-34/Tiger/Panzer/IS/Shermans/ETC and are wargaming approved so they are very sturdy but very detailed too
14-18€ for two tanks+decals in a kit.

How many points would this box contain for each side? About?
I'm not sure off the top of my head. It totally depends on the options you take. Bringing veterans, for example would make for a higher points cost than regular infantry.
I think I worked out the Germans to be around 250 points for the most basic regular setup.
It depends, but the Germans kitted out in the exact way as the Band of Brothers booklet and all veteran is 425 points whereas the US all veteran comes to 472. If you take out the two BARs it drops the US down to 430 and that makes it pretty balanced.
