I want to say... You are by far the BEST reviewer and information about the consoles I ever watched. I received abit more income; and thought about buying a Xbox to play Killer Instict and Sudeki as well as a few other retro games. I didn't want to spend too much money on the X; but thanks to you I know that the S can play just the sanme games as the X can. Albit not as nice as the X can. So I bought a S! I think for myself, I would stick with the Xbox one S for the following reasons. I don’t own a 4K TV and have no real desire or need for one, as far as I know, no tv content is broadcast in 4k, we are lucky to have a handful of mediocre channels in HD never mind 4K. I definitely wouldn’t buy a 4K tv just for a games console. The cost of the Xbox one x for me is a lot of money to spend on features I wouldn’t benefit from. I don’t get any pleasure from technology anymore. I find some folk spend so much time analysing a consoles performance rather than just enjoying the game they are playing, they are so obsessed and focus on the least important things and forget to just enjoy the game.
I understand what your saying. There are plenty of 4K options on sky Q, Netflix etc. Also more 4K blu rays are coming out. I have an high end 4K TV with HDR 1000 so went for the X and wow. I have the PS4 Pro and that was decent but the X is another level. And movies and TV programmes are insane.
brassornament94: ya but that's China, and by 2020 the majority of TV stations will be displayed in 4k. but recording hd videos with a 4k digital camera is different than video games, it's much more demanding creating 4k graphics than it is 4k resolution. the xbox one x and ps4 pro are the beginning stages of 4k resolution, by the time the ps5 gets here and if Microsoft makes a next gen or not which i believe they will despite what other people think, video games will run in 4k resolution. but the graphics engine will be created in 1080p, because for right now all the video games your seeing are created in 720p and then the developers choose what resolution the game will run in. for the base xbox one and one s the game runs in 900p resolution, and on the base ps4 and ps4 slim the game can run in either 900p or 1080p. now that you have the ps4 pro and xbox one x, developers would have to make an enhanced version of the same game that was originally created, but unfortunately the ps4 pro is getting shafted. because people just ain't buying it, and developers see that and companies only go where ever the money is.

A 12yr old will not be able to tell the difference between the two. The Xbox one x is more expensive (almost double of One S)but has slightly more powerful hardware, so it might last a bit longer as games in the future will need more and more powerful hardware.

I will buy an xbox one x The problems of xbox one s: -after 5-6 hours it will shut down himself -the 4k from xbox one s is just a joke, a lot of the games on 4k are almost not runing (they will run at 20-30 fps) -Even on 1080p a majority of games will run at 30 fps , on xbox one x all the games will run at least with 50 fps

I think for 95% of people the S is the logical choice. Even those with 4k premium hdr tvs like myself. I've got a Sony x930c and a xbox one X and S. Sure the X looks better but at the premium cost and with little to no real 4k content it just doesnt matter. The s does a fantastic job at upscaling and 4k blu rays are a much better use of your 4k hdr screen than games. The X is more useful for the frame rate and stablity upgrades it adds to games that ran like crap on the original xbox than it is for the 4k gaming. Its really just a leap gap system that wont ever be utlized and next gen systems are only a few years off.
Honestly, I own both. While I was (and still am) very happy with the Xbox One S, the Robot White Xbox One X was on sale during last weekend, so I bought It to play games such as Forza Motorsport 7, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4 in 4K. They look absolutely stunning. The only sad thing I can think of is that the Xbox One X draws three times more power than the Xbox One S which makes using it more expensive. Also, it gets hotter, especially on the top since there are no vents. The last thing for me is the placement of the disc drive, which I prefer on the Xbox One S. Overall, both are great systems and whichever one you get, you will be in for a treat!

Good informational video. I upgraded to the X and the pertinent takeaways you need to be aware of are it is MUCH more powerful, supports 4K and, one of the most noticeable things for me, support for High Dynamic Range (HDR). Negatives though are the much increased demand on storage for 4K / HDR enabled games and of course it costs a fair chunk more. But now, over a year later, lots of discounts to be had. Happy Gaming!

If you dont have a fucking HDtv you dont need to be buying either system. Shit even tube crt tvs after the year 2004 are mostly all HD. That means your tv is at a minimum at least 15 years old. HDtvs arent even the standard now as we have 4k.
I have a 4k tv and the one S looks fantastic on it as does the HDR, I think the S is better value since we are prob looking at the next gen consoles in a couple years. My one S runs fantastic aswell, even though its upscaled 4k it still looks great
In my opinion for the long run its better to buy Xbox one x .the S is running new games at a low res even lower than 1080p in some cases, if You're just a casual gamer who wants to enjoy a 1 hr chill gaming session then i guess it doesn't matter to you so just go for the S. hardcore gamers don't care about resolution, but the xbox one s runs games in 1080p. it's just in 30fps not 60fps like the One X, but your talking about frame rate not resolution. a casual gamer wouldn't even play on the One S, there more likely to play on there phone or laptop.

After using the S on a 4K tv for a few months, I’ve noticed that it drops frames and slows down randomly during games. FIFA is probably the worst I’ve seen. Upscale is decent. The X makes a huge difference in image quality because it’s native 4K. Forza 7 surprised the most as to the visual quality over the S

I bought the Xbox one S last week. I upgraded from a 360. I couldn’t justify the $250 difference in the two consoles for a slightly faster load time and a slightly better quality. My local GameStop showed the difference between the X and S by displaying the X on a 4k and the S on a 1080p.... very very little difference... during gameplay it’s not even really there. Anyways, that’s why I didn’t go for the X. 🤘🏽

That actually depends on the game they used for the example, not all games actually render in 4k. RDR 2 is 4X improved on the X, a MASSIVE difference. Furthermore Forza 7 Runs 4K at 60fps. no other game on any console does this.
I can compare identical screenshots in SDR, and HDR, SDR is more greyscale, not as bright, and rich with color....finally 4k Textures are unreal, WHEN the game actually supports it.
This was super helpful. I was thinking I might splurge on the one X, but I'm also moving so I might as well go with the S since it's so much cheaper (and I'm not a stickler for the best of the best graphics). Mainly, I just wanted to have something I could play my 360 games on anyway. I don't normally go out and grab the newest games (a few companies excluded) so I'm good with what I have. Plus, with a new generation possibly less than a year away, 500 for improved graphics doesn't seem worth it, to me.
Got both but the x plays 4K gaming! Get the X I just use my S for videos and streaming! Plus the elite controller is a hefty price but it’s worth the money if you’re a gun game type of person also racing. It plays very well with madden and 2k18 also. Plus get a good tv something like a Samsung or a Lg 55-65” and a surround system. I’m bout to loose my family because I stay stuck in the man cave for hours on my off time lol 😂! Again get the X in my opinion!

Agreed kids today just think xbox one or PS4 and rest is rubbish graphics and not worth it so wrong. My first console was a NES and being the youngest out of 4 lads we had most consoles over the yrs my older bro’s were on Atari’s and spectrums early 80’s I’m kinda lucky cos I had a ps one but didn’t need a ps2 cos my bro got one so I went Xbox but yea if you have played computer games for 30yrs even games like super mario 3 and sonic on the mega drive bring back good memories and if it wasn’t for these games we would be where we are today and now I have both ps3/360 slims and both x1/PS4 slims og Xbox a wii and a vita. Of course it’s nice to see beautiful looking detailed games of today it it’s also part of the history and evolution of gaming where we were back when. 👍🏻

I love how this turned into a video talking about how great the Switch is. It's truly the greatest console out there at the moment. I was trying to decide between the Xbox One S and X recently because I wanted an upgrade from my old Xbox One. The X looks great, but it's really not worth the money. The S is still a decent upgrade over the original, and I got it for a great price. I ended up only having to pay $65 (because I sold my old Xbox) and I got an S bundled with Sea of Thieves. 4K gaming on the X would be nice, but I don't think it would've been worth the extra money, especially nice I don't play on a 4K TV.
Aussiejay was it 500gb though? If so then that's not going to last long I'm afraid as it will soon be filled up especially after Microsoft update after 1st boot up takes up a big chunk of space..Though I'm not sure if that's the case with an s version as my original ran out very quickly after a couple of downloaded games..

Well, i kinda agree with what you're saying. But, i already have a switch, and my parents are willing to spend money to get me an xbox one x. The xbox one s does have amazing limited themes, but the xbox one x is a much better console. And the xbox does have a new edition. So i would go for the One X. But this video helped me sooooooo much. I was still going to get the X, and then i realized that the X is so much better in power and speed. From what I've read, I think it makes sense to go for the one X. The one s only plays 4k movies, not 4k games. The one X is far more capable at playing top quality games that are beautiful to look at graphically as well as fps. Now when it comes to the end of consoles life span, the games get even better so just imagine what great looking games are yet to be released and the one X is the one that will play them far better than the one s. It just makes sense to get the one X for the long run until another xbox is released in a few years.
Not hard to do this time of year. Can probably get the same price if you trade in an S model towars it to Gamestop during this weeks sale. If an older model you can trade it in for $95 credit, add $25 bonus, and $70 off BF sale, that's $190 off the list price making it $310. I did a different sale combined with an employee discount at a different retail outlet. After I sell my Xbox One for $100 final price will be $260. Again, no excuse.

Xbox one X = Nintendo Switch + Xbox one S it's better value. Only get an Xbox X if you have a 4k HDR TV or else you won't see much difference. Mean while I'll be waiting for those Xbox exclusive games.

The S ONLY offers 4K Video streaming, and Blu-Ray. THAT'S IT.

As a owner of both, go with the S if you aren’t looking to game very heavily. Only go with the X if you do play video games a lot.

Good informational video. I upgraded to the X and the pertinent takeaways you need to be aware of are it is MUCH more powerful, supports 4K and, one of the most noticeable things for me, support for High Dynamic Range (HDR).
Negatives though are the much increased demand on storage for 4K / HDR enabled games and of course it costs a fair chunk more. But now, over a year later, lots of discounts to be had.

But this has helped be stick with the S which is still GREAT console. I got it for £169 with assanins creed . Keep up the good work mate.
If you dont have a fucking HDtv you dont need to be buying either system. Shit even tube crt tvs after the year 2004 are mostly all HD. That means your tv is at a minimum at least 15 years old. HDtvs arent even the standard now as we have 4k.

When it comes to Ventilation, Microsoft put a lot of work into the xbox one x's cooling system so i wouldn't worry too much about that.
I have a 4k tv and the one S looks fantastic on it as does the HDR, I think the S is better value since we are prob looking at the next gen consoles in a couple years. My one S runs fantastic aswell, even though its upscaled 4k it still looks great

In my opinion for the long run its better to buy Xbox one x .the S is running new games at a low res even lower than 1080p in some cases, if You're just a casual gamer who wants to enjoy a 1 hr chill gaming session then i guess it doesn't matter to you so just go for the S. hardcore gamers don't care about resolution, but the xbox one s runs games in 1080p. it's just in 30fps not 60fps like the One X, but your talking about frame rate not resolution. a casual gamer wouldn't even play on the One S, there more likely to play on there phone or laptop.

Go and try playing AC: Origins... you'll see how weak the one s is... and yes I know optimization blah blah but at the end of the day the specs ARE weak. One X allllll the way!

After using the S on a 4K tv for a few months, I’ve noticed that it drops frames and slows down randomly during games. FIFA is probably the worst I’ve seen. Upscale is decent. The X makes a huge difference in image quality because it’s native 4K. Forza 7 surprised the most as to the visual quality over the S

I bought the Xbox one S last week. I upgraded from a 360. I couldn’t justify the $250 difference in the two consoles for a slightly faster load time and a slightly better quality. My local GameStop showed the difference between the X and S by displaying the X on a 4k and the S on a 1080p.... very very little difference... during gameplay it’s not even really there. Anyways, that’s why I didn’t go for the X. 🤘🏽

That actually depends on the game they used for the example, not all games actually render in 4k.
RDR 2 is 4X improved on the X, a MASSIVE difference.
Furthermore Forza 7 Runs 4K at 60fps. no other game on any console does this.
I can compare identical screenshots in SDR, and HDR, SDR is more greyscale, not as bright, and rich with color....finally 4k Textures are unreal, WHEN the game actually supports it.
Lastly, your games will rarely, if EVER run at 60fps.

I was thinking I might splurge on the one X, but I'm also moving so I might as well go with the S since it's so much cheaper (and I'm not a stickler for the best of the best graphics).
Mainly, I just wanted to have something I could play my 360 games on anyway. I don't normally go out and grab the newest games (a few companies excluded) so I'm good with what I have.
Plus, with a new generation possibly less than a year away, 500 for improved graphics doesn't seem worth it, to me.

Got both but the x plays 4K gaming! Get the X I just use my S for videos and streaming! Plus the elite controller is a hefty price but it’s worth the money if you’re a gun game type of person also racing. It plays very well with madden and 2k18 also. Plus get a good tv something like a Samsung or a Lg 55-65” and a surround system. I’m bout to loose my family because I stay stuck in the man cave for hours on my off time lol 😂! Again get the X in my opinion!

I love how this turned into a video talking about how great the Switch is. It's truly the greatest console out there at the moment.
I was trying to decide between the Xbox One S and X recently because I wanted an upgrade from my old Xbox One. The X looks great, but it's really not worth the money. The S is still a decent upgrade over the original, and I got it for a great price. I ended up only having to pay $65 (because I sold my old Xbox) and I got an S bundled with Sea of Thieves. 4K gaming on the X would be nice, but I don't think it would've been worth the extra money, especially nice I don't play on a 4K TV.

Aussiejay was it 500gb though? If so then that's not going to last long I'm afraid as it will soon be filled up especially after Microsoft update after 1st boot up takes up a big chunk of space..Though I'm not sure if that's the case with an s version as my original ran out very quickly after a couple of downloaded games..

Well, i kinda agree with what you're saying. But, i already have a switch, and my parents are willing to spend money to get me an xbox one x. The xbox one s does have amazing limited themes, but the xbox one x is a much better console. And the xbox does have a new edition. So i would go for the One X. But this video helped me sooooooo much. I was still going to get the X, and then i realized that the X is so much better in power and speed. Even though you said to get the One S, i am still going to get the X. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!! XD!!!!

From what I've read, I think it makes sense to go for the one X. The one s only plays 4k movies, not 4k games. The one X is far more capable at playing top quality games that are beautiful to look at graphically as well as fps. Now when it comes to the end of consoles life span, the games get even better so just imagine what great looking games are yet to be released and the one X is the one that will play them far better than the one s. It just makes sense to get the one X for the long run until another xbox is released in a few years.

I did a different sale combined with an employee discount at a different retail outlet. After I sell my Xbox One for $100 final price will be $260.
