Love Jim's voice he could read the phone book and make it interesting.

This gives me a greater sense of who Jim was than anything else I've seen or heard. The occasional rudeness of the interviewer--insulting comments and annoying questions--and Jim's ability to shrug it off or deflect it with a humorous response was especially interesting. I'd had the impression Jim went somewhat crazy and drank too much and became violent and rude himself at times. It seems his fame and music attracted so much unpleasant attention that he ultimately struck back and became rather harsh himself. Famous, popular artists and entertainers have a rough life; everyone taking shots at them. It's particularly tough for young people who don't have a perspective that allows them to cope with it constructively. It's nice to see this friendly, open side of Jim's personality. Makes me want to listen to my Doors albums again.

i like your comments and i agree 100 percent. :) Jim seems very reflective and patient in his comments. Good stuff.

Me too! I had never noticed the similarity between those songs. So many songs use similar chord progressions--especially in "popular" music--that I think some of these accusations are wrong. In this case, I think these songs are sufficiently different that calling one of them a ripoff is a mistake. They're both good songs. I suspect "Hello I Love You" came into the minds of the musicians without any thought of "You Really Got Me."

Jim was a very compassioned person. He really was a good reader of people. Thats why he could handle these people but ultimately it was what would bring him down too. Because he feel too much, he felt everyones energy. He was an emphath who could not figure out how to exist in this world

I love how Jim pauses and thinks before he answers most of the questions.

Morrison was so on about how they were hated at the time but eventually that would change and people would revere them as time went on and realized that you cant really have better songs or be more memorable than the Doors. That's pretty brilliant

I like Jim a lot. Sure he was a hard guy to figure out but he was ultimately a polite, kind guy who let the drink take him. He wasn't entirely to blame, and he's forever a legend. I regard him as highly as all my Greek legends. Times have changed, for the worse I fear.

I was never around Morrison so I can't say what he was like normally in private, but in every interview I've listened to with him, he seems like a cool laid back guy with nice manners and good conversation. The Oliver Stone flick made him look like a complete out of control prick. A guy you wouldn't want to be around for five minutes.

if you read the description it says This is more of a conversation with a friend than a interview. i think its healthy and good for friends to be able to be honest and criticize each other in a productive or just in an opinion way. id rather a friend tell me what they dont like about something than to just tell me how wonderful i am.

If this interviewer did not recognise that " Hello, I Love You " was a Doors song after the first bar ... He knew nothing about music, instrumentation...SOUNDS!... At 4:20 by the way. Jim is very mellow considering the insult the guy provided the Doors in his preamble to the question.

In a way he thrived on the storm he created until it engulfed him. He really was a shooting star not meant for a long life or to grow old. Also unfortunately, his GF was a heroin addict who I feel was duplicit in his demise. She joined the 27 Club 3 years later & was said she died of guilt. 😪

I’m adopted, I did my DNA, I’m a match I’m also bipolar, had an alcohol problem very poetic, if you saw me when I wasn’t overweight like now, or maybe I resemble him more now, idk but I was a product from his College days. Sometimes I’ve got so many projects going at once the. I get completely bored out of my mind. ( it drives my family nuts ) Jim was an extremely smart man.. I’m about ready to call Ms Patricia Kennealy out! I’m sick how she just added Jim’s name to sell books cause she couldn’t cut it!! The bitch actually set up a gofundme Page! Listening to him just makes me cry. According to my biological mom he never knew about me..

Fate and God, had a different plan for Jim Morrison. I'd like to believe he would have used his money to help the poor people like the Grateful Dead did.
