I like this Urban a lot more than the previous s90v version made in Italy. This is a much better price, even if I still have some issues with the QC on the product I receieved.
Hey Chris, did you get one of the recent batches? I heard the previous ones did have some issues. I've found the UKPK and Urban seem fine... Although I can't really compare them direct with the issues the previous batch had
Great video thought about buying Spyderco Cat for carrying in Chicago they have a 2.5in.max on the blade,i live in Indiana and we can carry anything but a ballistic knife or throwing stars.
Hmmmm...No wonder I've never seen an old Indianan sat on a hot porch slicing an apple with a ninja star. Makes total sense now 😂 I hope you're well Ron
Thanks for this. My own version arrived last week. Have you seen the third and smaller one? So the UKPK is the largest of the slipits but there is also the squeak. I like the urban a lot but actually prefer the squeak as it’s so much smaller it feels more ‘acceptable’ as a carry. Have you seen it yet?
Hi Warren. I have the Urban and really prefer it over the UKPK. I think the leaf shaped blade seems less 'stabby' when people see you use it. I'll make sure to check out the Squeak. Thanks for watching buddy
I agree. It’s odd as the blade size difference isn’t that much but the blade shape (as you say) and the handle size has a real affect. That’s why I like the squeak. My normal carry would be a victorinox pioneer or pioneer x and then maybe a Luna or a squeak to go alongside. I think you’d like the squeak. But thanks for the reply and also, as usual, for the excellent content.
Hey Loki 😆 That comment made me chuckle... Mrs Moorlander calls me a "Goober" when she's taking the piss out of me 😅 I hope you're well buddy and have an awesome weekend
It looks a lot more innocuous compared to the UKPK, although it's seemingly only a tad smaller. I do prefer it over the UKPK - I have four variants of the Urban.
Hi Ben. 100% agree. This has a less aggressive look and feel to it. Having used the two the Urban is my favourite of the two. What are the different variants you have? YOu must definitely prefer this one
@@MoorlanderEDC I've got this version that you're reviewing, the other HH S90V, the AEB-L and the N690. I really like the practicality of Spyderco knives and they way the designs shy away from the overbuilt designs you see from a lot of other companies. But they are a bit too expensive for what they are.
Having had an ‘ickle’ Spyderco honey bee knife for a while, I can testify to the quality of these knives. As always, another detailed and also UK relevant review (this is very important for us lot on this island). Thanks much from up Norf’. All the best from this Yorkshire Lad.
It's a funny name choice. Does it make it more acceptable to carry in urban areas? What's the difference between urban and cosmopolitan? Apart from urban sounds a bit grittier. Although, then I hold it... I can hear 90s drum & base in my head... my therapist tells me that's from too much LSD 😂
Thanks Chris. I knew I'd got the wrong one at the time. I was thinking about the Clipit joint. If I remember rightly, didn't they start with the clipit, which eventually evolved into the Slipit joint?
Main difference between a traditional slipjoint and the Slip-it is that the backspring splits into a fork at the pivot, so that the backspring itself doesn't move when actuating the joint. According to Spyderco it's also smoother to open but that's debatable, and has more to do with the shape of the cam surface on the blade than anything else.
Ah... You're right... Everything is easier with the correct tool 😅 from my chats with people on sharpening knives, I get the impression for the everyday man (or woman) it can be daunting when trying to sharpen at first though
PINK!!?? 😅 ... I think the camera may have made it look pink. Heinnie Haynes have a range of knives using specific read in their logo. I had to grab this from my draw as the red is a wee bit pinker than they other red scales 😆 The spine isn't that bad in fairness although I guess time will tell. All the best John and thanks for watching buddy
Legend! Cheers for the shout! Another cracking video 👍🏻👌🏻
You're more than welcome buddy. Moorlanders for life 👌
I just ordered one in S90V, crazy good price!
The Urban Hennie is a upgrade from the original which had N690Co blade steel.
Great pocket knife in all departments.
It's definitely a nice knife for sure. I think I much prefer this over the UKPK

They used to call a microphone windshield a 'Dougal' which I think is nicer. It doesn't even look like a cat... 'goober'

I've seen those wee Spydie knives. I might pick one up. All the best from The Kingdom of the Moorlands 😁
Not being able to flick a slipjoint wouldn't bother me. In fact a slow roll open is probably less intimidating, which can only be good for a UK carry.
Hi Rab. There's a few people in the comments that can Spydie flick one. Maybe my flick game is just weak 🤣 thanks for watching buddy
Mate what jacket are u wearing pls?
Hey buddy. That's the Rogue hoodie from Helikon Tex. Really cool hoodie... th-cam.com/video/0-8ul8lR0hc/w-d-xo.html
It’s gone on the wish list. Cheers bud!
Ha ha ha... I don't know about you, but my list is never ending 🤣 you're more than welcome buddy 👍
Hello-Hello!!!!
😃😃😃😃
Sup homie! Hope you're well 👍
I always wonder what people think when they label something “urban”.

Spyderco call it a slipit rather than a slipjoint. But it doesn not really matter. It is a non-locking blade.
Thanks Chris. I knew I'd got the wrong one at the time. I was thinking about the Clipit joint. If I remember rightly, didn't they start with the clipit, which eventually evolved into the Slipit joint?

s30v is not difficult to sharpen in the slightest. you just need to have something hard enough to sharpen it.
Ah... You're right... Everything is easier with the correct tool 😅 from my chats with people on sharpening knives, I get the impression for the everyday man (or woman) it can be daunting when trying to sharpen at first though
😃👍
I'd get one if it wasn't pink, !! And,, I bet that sharp spine wrecks your pockets, never mind hurting when you put your hand in your pocket too,, !!
