Rowdy is on the Canidae Pure Sea (Salmon) which the Westies could have had, but our doctor thought it would be a better idea to try a food whose main ingredient was completely new to Wrigley.

The same type of thing happened with my beagle. The biggest issue with his was continued contact so the skin couldn't heal. My vet gave me medicated shampoo, allergy meds, etc nut nothing worked long term. I ended up having my beagle wear a t-shirt for two months until his skin completely healed which worked. I told my boss the same thing whose dog was also having similar issues for over year and it also worked for him. A lot of vets think its food related, but its environmentally related (generally speaking). Chicken is the most easily tolerated food by dogs over any other protein which is why it is the go-to when animals are sick. I would definitely give it a try if he can tolerate wearing a t-shirt.
I must give you a huge thank you for showing your makeup area when you just don't have time to put everything back in its place...I thought I was the only one who did that...mine looks the same way after I have done my makeup and hair, and I husband always says " there is no way you used all that stuff " ....so at least there is someone else that does this...thanks for sharing...xoxo
oh I forgot, I've been feeding our dogs the Purina Pro Plan Focus for sensitive skin and stomach. Its made with Salmon and I didn't see anything chicken in the ingredients. I have switched the dog food 3 times because of allergies. The only dog out of 3 that have this problem is our Jack Russell. I also went on Amazon and bought Zymox, they make a hydrocortisone spray for dogs and this has helped and they make a shampoo and conditioner for them too. It treats skin allergies and fungus and yeast, etc. on them. I hope the change in dog food helps Wrigley. I noticed our dog getting better in the cooler months and then when it got warmer (N. TX) she started the chewing, itching again. Thanks for the vlog, I look forward to them.

Hi! I grew up Conservative and was confirmed at the end of 10th (Sophomore) year. It is post-bar/bat mitzvah learning of history and customs. And I'm 43 now and this had been a practice in my synagogue for 30 years before I was confirmed. So it's not a new idea. :)

I get dog food delivered every 6 weeks. So much easier than going to the store for those big heavy bags. they do carrry the Canidae dog food, I checked before suggesting.
I do like them-but our local store is SO close and they'll price match! Plus it gives me and Michael a good upper body workout once a month or so! ;) But Chewy.com is a GREAT option!!

Had to comment as soon as I heard the dog food allergies: We have the same issues with our dog. All of my friends thought we were crazy that Dozer had to eat grain-free AND no chicken. We do Canidae Bison as well. It's really hard to find dog food (and treats) that have no chicken anything in them! But it makes a huge difference for our little furry guy.
Oh My Gosh! I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that doesn't like the Loreal Cleansing Balm. It does make your hair feel yucky. I do still use it though. I reverse wash my hair with it. I put it on first and leave it on for a little bit, and then I wash my hair with shampoo. It conditions it enough that I don't have put on another conditioner. Poor Wrigley. I hope the new food works for him. One of our puppies had allergies and just recently developed an allergy to chicken as well so we had to change his food too. I also love seeing we aren't the only ones with baby/dog gates all over their house! LOL!

I highly recommend Halo dog food. I don't think it has ever been recalled. I think Ellen De Generes has an interest in the brand. ( I use those frozen garlic cubes, too. Good, but the real thing is better. :-) )
Lori K., I have two AKC Grand Champion Norwich Terriers and they get chicken from Whole Foods that I poach in plain water; this was part of the diet recommended by their breeder who has taken dogs to Westminster. (I believe that the way chicken is processed by most dog food manufacturers is the culprit rather than the protein itself.) I do feed my dogs primarily Orijen Regional Red (which is grain free and without any chicken)and I add wild salmon oil to their food. They would gladly eat only the Orijen and they do so when they are boarded. My vet says that the oil is the key reason they have some of the most beautiful coats he has ever seen while never experiencing allergies of any kind. Another thing to consider trying in dogs with allergies is a raw diet but research is important as not all raw diets are of the superior quality that owners should demand.

We do Canidae Bison as well. It's really hard to find dog food (and treats) that have no chicken anything in them! But it makes a huge difference for our little furry guy.

Oh My Gosh! I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that doesn't like the Loreal Cleansing Balm. It does make your hair feel yucky. I do still use it though. I reverse wash my hair with it. I put it on first and leave it on for a little bit, and then I wash my hair with shampoo. It conditions it enough that I don't have put on another conditioner. Poor Wrigley. I hope the new food works for him. One of our puppies had allergies and just recently developed an allergy to chicken as well so we had to change his food too. I also love seeing we aren't the only ones with baby/dog gates all over their house! LOL!
Our vet told us about the chicken allergy in dogs 9 years ago. Our dog has allergies, too

I highly recommend Halo dog food. I don't think it has ever been recalled. I think Ellen De Generes has an interest in the brand. ( I use those frozen garlic cubes, too. Good, but the real thing is better. :-) )
I have four dogs and stopped giving them chicken 10 years ago when I heard that small dogs can have sensitivity to chicken.
Lori K., I have two AKC Grand Champion Norwich Terriers and they get chicken from Whole Foods that I poach in plain water; this was part of the diet recommended by their breeder who has taken dogs to Westminster. (I believe that the way chicken is processed by most dog food manufacturers is the culprit rather than the protein itself.) I do feed my dogs primarily Orijen Regional Red (which is grain free and without any chicken)and I add wild salmon oil to their food. They would gladly eat only the Orijen and they do so when they are boarded. My vet says that the oil is the key reason they have some of the most beautiful coats he has ever seen while never experiencing allergies of any kind. Another thing to consider trying in dogs with allergies is a raw diet but research is important as not all raw diets are of the superior quality that owners should demand.

They're off Iams! No more Iam's for them! We're sticking with Canidae! Our trainer (who also shows dogs) said Rowdy has the most beautiful coat she's ever seen!
