Don't blame Leo. There was literally no way for Leo to practice the matchup thanks to Nintendo using netcode that only works in japan. This really does give japanese players a huge advantage over their western counterparts. They can get the matchup experience they need. People need to complain louder about this. It's scummy behavior and far too many japanese developers do it. Elden Ring has the same problem for instance.
@@alb7466 What? Are you not aware of this? This was the case with brawl whose online mode was basically unplayably laggy outside of japan. With Sm4sh it was the same thing again. With every title its improved somewhat, but the netcode is still fucking trash in Ultimate. And it always works way better in Japan than anywhere else because the netcode has been created with the japanese internet infrastructure in mind. Thus the Japanese have a very active competitive online bracket where their players can practice against each other and learn matchups. The rest of the world doesn't have an online bracket like that because the rest of the world has to put up with so much lag that practicing online doesn't work since the game plays different when there's a big delay on everything. It makes everything less reactable and forces you to act preemptively. There's a huge gap between online and offline smash. Unless you live in Japan, where the gap is way smaller.
