  • In this video I walk you through the various features that Nikon Z 8 (and Z 9) offer for photographing in the night. These features help photographers maintain their night vision in addition to letting them better view the scene in front of them, improving their ability to compose in the dark.
    0:00 - Intro
    0:30 - Image Frame
    1:22 - View Mode (Photo Lv)
    2:25 - Starlight View (Photo Lv)
    3:03 - Warm Display Colors
    4:10 - LCD Illumination
    5:02 - Outro
    Let me know if there are any other features you want me to cover!
    Filmed on Nikon Z 9 with Z 35mm f/1.8 S lens.

      Thanks! I’m glad you found it useful. If you don’t know what something does on your camera just try and use it changing settings and seeing what it does. Often times that helps you remember what they do too.

    Good video. It seems like that your portrait looks like the founder of XinDongFang group.

    Great video. Any suggestions on how to keep the top LCD screen on all the time instead of it timing out. Thanks.

      D12 option in your settings will enable the top panel to be on as long as the camera is in standby mode.

    Hi Taku, could you do a video with Macro settings on the Z8 please?

      Hi Peter, thanks for dropping by. Is there anything in particular you're looking for when shooting macro? Are you referring to focus stacking or just straight on single shot macro shooting?

      @@taku_kumabe I generally do single shot images, just confused as best settings to store in a bank, thanks for your response

    the D8 choice was not clear in your video, please can you advise

    • @taku_kumabe
      @taku_kumabe  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! What was not clear about it? How you get to it? It's under Custom Settings (third icon on the left side of the Menu screen), then scroll down to D8. The options essentially let you do one of two things: Have the camera change the Live View display based on your current settings, or it will let you manually adjust how you want the Live View to display regardless of what your settings are.

      @mikeymuk 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@taku_kumabe it was very clearly explained thanks, but which of the 2 options would be best to choose for night photos as that was not said I think

      @taku_kumabe  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Oh, that's just personal preference. Some people may like to see clearer in the dark while others may prefer to understand what their settings will show them. Keep in mind that if you choose to manually set the Live View display to show better in the dark, that you have to rely on the histogram to see if your exposure is correct for the lighting in front of you.@@mikeymuk
