Hi there. My son is about to be seven and has an awesome man bag that is a mini version of the one my late husband wore. He lost it for a while and recently found it again and is both excited to wear it and worried that the girls will think he's carrying a purse. I googled for pictures of men wearing man bags to alleviate some of his concern. We came across your video and he's watched it multiple times. I know we are not your target audience, but I want you to know that your video has given confidence to a little boy who has to figure out soooo many of these things without dad around. Truly, thank you.
It's good that your son learns to not worry about what other people will think of him, how he styles himself, or how he carries himself. I wish I had learned this when I was younger, and I wish I was taught better. Anyways, now that I'm older, I have taken pride in being the best dress guy in the room, even where I work (and I have been mistaken as the manager multiple times, and when I got hired for my recent job the manager thought I was the health inspector). Alpha definitely helped boost my confidence, and I hope Aaron will empower your son when he understands more of the way the world works. Good luck!
I’ve been rocking a messenger bag for a while and it really makes thing so much easier and in my opinion stylish. Where what you want who cares what people think. I don’t care what other people wear why should they care what I wear
I'm a girl and I'm so used to carrying around some form of bag to put things into that I take it for granted. I'm actually surprised so many guys get by with just their pockets. This bag is a practical tool that guys shouldn't shy away from.
I picked up a raggedy old army ammunition bag at a flea market this past summer. It's basically a messenger bag. My buddies had a great time with it at first. They teased me over it endlessly. I absolutely could not live without it. My days are long and busy. It's great to have everything I need to make it through the day.
129jaystreet Great men in history who carried BAGS from daily work to war, also known as Sporrans, possibles bags, possibles pouches, hunting or fowler bag, black powder & shot bags, a farmer's seed sowing bag, ... all are early patterns for the now messenger and laptop bags of today. Consider a bag to carry daily items actually a MAN'S wardrobe item, not a woman's. Why?? >> Remember: Men were the hunters and gatherers needing a BAG. The women did not have a need to carry a bag since they were not usually travelling out from the camp or the village. They used BASKETS for their on-site purposes. The women cared for the children, prepared food, made clothing and home preparations -- they did not need a bag like men. Men had bags first. Add that to your tool belt of knowledge.
As a freelance creative professional often adrift in an urban environment I live out of my shoulder bag. It's more stylish, adult, and just as practical for an adult male than a backpack. I use my backpack for hiking.
can we please stop calling them man bags they did have a name. it's a satchel people, and men have been wearing them for a long time. the Egyptians/Africans Greeks and Romans etc many ancient society in fact.
Man bag promotes better because guys are insecure about bags... I know, strange. I had actually forgotten the word "satchel". I'll have to start using that. Thanks !
Aaron, thank you for this video! It articulates all the thoughts I have whenever someone attacks my manhood because I carry a man-bag. I will now reference this vid to all the haters who can't admit they need one. I cannot tell you all the times I have been glad to have an on-hand place for my daily essentials; I never leave the house without one. Plus carrying a man-bag adds that little elevation to one's style that just makes a statement. Gotta love 'em.
I know this video is 8 years old but thank you for putting it out. I started using one when I travel but recently decided to use one all the time. It so much easier to carry your phone, keys, wallet, meds, sunglasses and more. I have never liked keeping my phone in my pocket. Years ago i used to wear a belt with a phone pouch to carry my phone. Now i wear suspenders cause I have NO butt to keep up my pants that used to sag in the back. With no place to put a phone pouch carrying a bag made that much easier. I actually use 2 different bags. I have the man bag dammit by nutsac for my daily walks, its a little smaller and just right for a walk. I use the Magsatch 11 by nutsac for everything else. I'm 63, and used to be self conscious about carrying a bag. Now I don't care, I carry what I need and I'm happy.
Alpha I have seen a lot of your videos and I want to thank you for them. I grew up without a fatherly figure that teach me how to be a man in the sense of style and all that stuff, and thanks to you I feel more confident now. again thank you. José from PR
Great job Alpha, Been carrying one for two years now and have never looked back. Built up a collection to match shoes and belts. I am of European origin and am used to calling them bags... I hear you on the meds. On the sartorial and accessories side, extra shoelaces and spare fountain pen ink cartridges are also a must. The biggest benefit, however, is the pristine condition in which carrying a bag leaves your clothes, as pockets are not weighed down and battered by stuff… If you get the hang of it and run with it, it’s a whole different world. Keep up the good work...
Some comments here said BAGS are only for women and real men wear tool belts ... Well ... then we need to forget the great men in history who carried BAGS from daily work to war, also known as Sporrans, possibles bags, possibles pouches, hunting or fowler bag, black powder & shot bags, a farmer's seed sowing bag, ... all are early patterns for the now messenger and laptop bags of today. Consider a bag to carry daily items actually a MAN'S wardrobe item, not a woman's. Why?? >> Remember: Men were the hunters and gatherers needing a BAG. I've been living in Japan for the past 4 months. Every guy here has a bag. I adopted it and now that I've gotten used to it, I'm never giving it up. I don't like the term "man bag." I like "satchel" for a smaller bag (Check out "Master Piece" - a Japanese company. Hand made. Awesome quality)
Those look so sloppy if canvas!! I gave my ex one to ride his bike, and now the leather has aged looks so beautiful. A nice thing is when a man's bag is more vertical rather than horizontal. Optically tends to fade and look smaller. Ditch the canvas, doesn't look cool.
depends on the bag though.. not technically a "man bag" but I use a camera bag by a company called Billingham that makes their bags from canvas and full grain leather.. but i do agree those old military style canvas bags can look "sloppy" but i guess it just depends on your personal style.. lol
fun fact: man-bags have been a thing in the Philippines since as early as 2005. At the time it felt a little weird but the "messenger bag" was trendy among white collar guys. Japan might have been doing it earlier as indicated by the popularity of high-end brands such as Louis Vuitton selling options for men. however in Manila, it often was either a carrier of a guy's PDA or primitive smartphone, a few toiletries, and a planner. Pretty minimalist.
More men should just let go of their hangup with carrying a bag. Purses, bags, satchels, whatever you call them, are so functional, and it feels more secure than sticking something in your back pocket. As a woman I can't imagine carrying everything I need in my pockets.
Back 10 years ago my ex rode his bike with a backpack, and it looked sooo bad I gave him a man's bag. Since then his collection has grown so much he has more purses than me! I only wish more men wore them, but pick carefully. Faux leather or leather preferred choices. There are some extremely nice on Amazon.
been watching your vids and have received many compliments due to the changes I've made thanks to these videos you have made. I just bought the black and brown NutSac bags and tell you what .. THANK YOU for the insight. Comfort has improved incredibly for me as far as all the accessories I carry daily. My pockets are really free . I was skeptical at first when I thought of it but now I'm super hype with them. First day I used the brown NutSac and right out the door got a complement. Now I just had to spend $260 more on 2 more bags cause my son just fell in love with the aspect and the look and how much attention and comfort the bag bring to your life.
Bobzeda ;all through history, men have carried a bag, a salt pouch, a fire starting kit, mountain men called them "possible's pouch, the Scottish men used them in mid evil times , they were called feed bags,to carry horse feed in, also bread bags, to carry wherever your going to eat with you , so there!
Just use a tactical breifcase. They are much tougher, comsomizable, able to carry guns, and are better designed as they are created by people usually creating very organized military gear. The eberlestock breifcase is a great example.
I bought a nutsac disc golf bag for my husband and upon seeing how damn well it was constructed and designed for functionality with no wasted bulk, purchased one for myself. SO glad they are now making other bags! Worth every penny. Went through tons of bags until I got my nutsac disc bag, and it has lasted being dragged through the woods, rain, etc and still looks great.
Every man should have one!! those who don't have any with them usually don't even carry a pocket of tissues just blow the content of their nose on the street it's so disgusting. And I hate when a man asks me to put this and that into my bag. Why? Just because I have a bag with me? They should carry their own.
Just received my Alpaka 7ven Messenger bag last night- Have been using shoulder bags of some kind for the past 7 years this is by far the most versatile man looking stylish bag ive ever used.
I have this bag that was actually for toiletries. It fits my books and other items perfectly so I use it sometimes as my man bag. It's a little smaller than normal and I get it all the time that it's my purse. I just tell people that yes it is and I rock that shit. lol
Honestly I have tried many shoulder bags over the years. It always motivates me to cut way back on EDC and pocket litter. The less the better. A wallet. A car key. And I wish I didn’t have even that!
The field medics (I mean heroes) of WW2 and the Korean War, carried these so called "man bags" that modern people feel the need to hate on. They did so while under heavy enemy fire, carrying precious medical supplies to save allied lives. They called them, messenger bags, and they're awesome. Much respect to your video, and great content.
This channel is basically teaching men how to care about their appearance as much as women. Real men may carry bags, they just don't care if it looks cool or fashionable, presentable is about enough.
I was always reluctant to have a 'man-bag', but after using a sling bag for a week , I realized how convenient it is and living without it is impossible....pick the right bag & it's a fashion accessory
You know I'm a girl but I still love your videos! If a girl is dating a clueless guy, your videos help her to help him. They are a good reference f a girl wants to buy a gift for the guy in her life. I wish a woman would make videos for women the way you make videos for guys. Keep up the good work!
Jezus, the negativity in the comment section... I have type 1 diabetes, and have to carry a shit ton of stuff with me, lest my health suffers. I mostly use backpacks in my daily life, but it's embarrassing to carry a backback if you are wearing fancy clothes. A tasteful bag is a nice compromise.
MGTorque Well then we need to forget the great men in history who carried BAGS from daily work to war, also known as Sporrans, possibles bags, possibles pouches, hunting or fowler bag, black powder & shot bags, a farmer's seed sowing bag, ... all are early patterns for the now messenger and laptop bags of today. If the situation calls for a bag absolutely use one but if it's for style purposes and you decide to stuff it with things you can do without than it's a purse and you shouldn't be using it unless you like purses than it's okay go ahead and wear a purse
If you live in the Midwest, like me, you keep your crap in your car. You take your car with you everywhere, because everything is too far away to walk.
Love the fun attitude. My more formal man-bag is a black Buddy bag from Aunts & Uncles. Very nice leather, a little on the bigger side--you can technically fit a 13" Macbook in there--but it lets me have a notebook, pens, suglasses, keys, and, yes, an inhaler.
I am form Europe and many guys have "man bags". However we don't call them "man bags". We simply call them bags. We also don't call backpacks, backpacks we call them rucksacks.
There's nothing wrong with carrying a bag to keep all your stuff.I use an army surplus map case: olive green canvas, hard back if I need a writing surface. But seriously, stop calling it a "man-bag." Just stop calling everything that men use "man-" something or other.
Pre and Post-contact Native American men carried manbags, more commonly know as bandolier bags to carry tools (e.g., for flintknapping) and medicines. They also were commonly beaded and a source of pride.
My boy just spent 6 mins overexplaining carrying a bag, emphasizing is ok for him to carry a bag if he calls it Man Bag. Imagine being so insecure that you have to assert you're a man with everything you own... Lmaooo💀
I thought I just bought my husband his second Man Bag. But now I know he has one Messenger Bag and one Man Bag. Sent him the link to NutSac. He needs that bag. Great video! Thank you for sharing
Back packs will always rule, weather you like them or not because they are cheaper and they get the job done, real talk, suit or sport wear, back packs will always be on top, not all of them are two straps, some are one straps
Well then we need to forget the great men in history who carried BAGS from daily work to war, also known as Sporrans, possibles bags, possibles pouches, hunting or fowler bag, black powder & shot bags, a farmer's seed sowing bag, ... all are early patterns for the now messenger and laptop bags of today. I have the small NutSac. At first I wasn’t liking it because it was stiff, but overtime it starts breaking in and can hold a lot. I love it now and will go for an bigger one.
I have a Saddleback product - the Indiana Gear Bag. Totally awesome quality; 100 year warranty; $249. It's a bit taller than the Nutsac in your video, but otherwise similar in appearance.
Small to medium Messenger bag is my best fit. Big enough so if I need laptop and extra stuff without having to hassle around with multiple bags. I can easily carry it but its also low key enough to be an edc bag for. And consequently nutsac makes a satchel 15 model just for this.
As a lady, I’m so sick and tired of carrying a bag, that I’ve bought a few pairs of men’s trousers/pants in my size, and the deep pockets are so great. Heck; I carry an EPIPEN, and it fits in one of my front pockets. Yes, it shows, and I don’t care if it looks like something else. 😅🤣 And, if I really don’t feel like carrying it in my pocket, I’ll wear a jogging belt. On an average day, I feel so free.
I use a Armani Jeans leather small man bag, it was £105 however its very usefull i still have room for a usb battery bank, my phone, earphones, glasses , ahstma pump and my wallet. The price was a little steep but it was totally worth it.
I just recently bought one of these and love it! I am very confident in my "manhood," that I couldn't care less what other people think. And, If they had the balls to make a comment to my face about it, I would school them real quick on my "manhood." Anyway, the bag is great, and I use it every day. Great quality product.
+masso172 I agree! I carry everything I need on me: wallet, phone, keys; and everything else is in the car. If I'm without a car, like when I'm traveling, then I'll carry a man-bag. I think these guys that have elaborate EDC, are a little crazy.
***** For me, it feels better to walk around without carrying too many things because its less weight on my back or shoulders, plus on most ocasions there isn't many things that I need other than my wallet, phone and keys.

It's not a purse, its a satchel...........Indiana Jones has one!
I'm going have to quote Mr. Chow back at ya: 'It's a purse, Kayyy!!?'
Fat Freddy
Indiana Jones carried a satchel (with maps and spare ammo inside.) That's a damn man purse.
Fat Freddy who let the dogs out !
I thought this was a potato salad reference until I saw the comment was a year old
Demesvar Clerge lmaooo same 😂

Agree! 💯
We dont shy away, we just love to not cary many stuff around, haha. 😀 But yeah, depends on where iam going, i kinda like bags.
It's a *SATCHEL*
Or messenger bag.
Cute Leper or just bag
Jake McCoy is right but I am going to add this we get it, people joke you have a purse. You’ve said it multiple times.
Idk if they get the joke Jerry
I got the joke

Indiana Jones used a man bag long before anyone of these hipsters did.
HE WAS IN THE DAMN DESERT...HE NEEDED SUPPLIES...WHIPS ....SNACKS AND &!@%^%^
mixflip yup and he rocked that shit too
True!
If I could like this twice I would, that’s why I made an entirely new google account so that I could like this again.
mixflip
You do know Indiana Jones isn't a real person right?
I like how he doesn't edit the bit where he confuses his words, just skips over it, i find it charming
I love how much I can carry in my NutSac
Doesn't sound right 😂
XVMatty What ever could you mean? It is not my fault that my NutSac is ginormous
Hundreds of seamen.... Sailors if you will

Nut Sac is an excellent recommendation!
Historically men were carrying bags long before pockets were introduced into apparel design.
Yes, but now we have pockets. If it doesn't fit in one you probably shouldn't be lugging it around. What's next, a man's parasol?

I’ve carried ammo and grenade bags all over their world. Somewhere along the line, I just got used to carrying them.
Oh come on now JunkMailBoxStuff, Sporrans are usually worn with tartan skirts surely...
Samuel Johnston That same argument can be used in the same context of woman with bags lol.
I carry an original WWII m1936 musette shoulder bag.
It’s the perfect “man bag” and no one ever mistakes it for a purse.

Finally! Someone who knows the actual name, "messenger bag!" Or satchel, if you prefer.
Messenger bag and satchel are the same things, but they’re my go to.
Indiana Jones had one, good enough for me. Also secure enough in my own masculinity to laugh at the haters.
And guess what, they’ve just released Nutsac Jones 13.

"Do you even have textbooks anymore?"
College students - hahahaahAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you're so funny.
No, not all do sometimes the main is a tablet with downloaded books on them. I live in South Florida and Google Lynn University... no books.
Yeah those things that put us in debt and weigh 47 lbs? Yeah are familiar with those.

Alpha M is so more calm and nonchalant in these videos nowadays he’s so more hyped up and motivated but still great quality I love it
Traditional in the early days of man travel, it was called a satchel
Every time I hear "man-bag" or "satchel" I immediately think of Bradley Cooper in The Hangover...
for more rugged style options. try tactical gear bags. I use a trifold medical satchel by fireforce
I just tell people that yes it is and I rock that shit. lol
you found a purse to match your earrings, right on
Your content is absolutely amazing Aaron, and so helpful! I'm a newbie to your channel, and now missioning through all your videos ;)
I have asthma too
Inhalers are my life saviors
They help me when im out of breath and dying
best video I watched today, thanks !
Honestly I have tried many shoulder bags over the years.
It always motivates me to cut way back on EDC and pocket litter.
The less the better.
A wallet. A car key.
And I wish I didn’t have even that!
I love your videos man! You are so down to earth and give reviews without being obnoxious

The fact that you have to call it a "man bag" gives away the fact that it's everything but.
Viktor Dimitrovski then start calling it a nut sac
Viktor Dimitrovski yeah he sounds like, totally gay.
Dude purse
He should have called it a satchel or a messenger bag, which is more accurate.
@@notapplicable9207 or as your nan would call it a purse.
There's only one kind of manbag - it's called a toolbelt.
I was flexing while reading this
I agree with you 100%
It suits you.
MGTorque
Well then we need to forget the great men in history who carried BAGS from daily work to war, also known as Sporrans, possibles bags, possibles pouches, hunting or fowler bag, black powder & shot bags, a farmer's seed sowing bag, ... all are early patterns for the now messenger and laptop bags of today.
Wait, so is he the LinusTechTips of fashion? The way he moves, the voice, the camera angle, and the earrings make him just like Linus.
I've taken to calling mine a Utility bag. Sound important! "Hey is that a man purse?" "It's not a man purse! It's a utility bag!"
that sounds better
a tactical utility bag
Yup! It actually is a military style bag I use!
I call it a "satchel." Mine looks like a satchel though.
You should get a utility belt to go with that utility bag.
My man bag is an actual purse, a woman's purse and it is pink. I had one for years.
I think this video needs an update
i know the way this would get a bunch of hate if it was posted in 2024
Love the fun attitude. My more formal man-bag is a black Buddy bag from Aunts & Uncles. Very nice leather, a little on the bigger side--you can technically fit a 13" Macbook in there--but it lets me have a notebook, pens, suglasses, keys, and, yes, an inhaler.
watching this 7 years later
I am form Europe and many guys have "man bags". However we don't call them "man bags". We simply call them bags. We also don't call backpacks, backpacks we call them rucksacks.
I call them messenger bags
Phantom Wolf Are you American?
+swissnor yes and I wanted the full thing and he talked about messenger bags
Phantom Wolf Why do you American give everything names?? It's a bag. Nothing more.
Yeah, well Europe is full of losers.
There's nothing wrong with carrying a bag to keep all your stuff.I use an army surplus map case: olive green canvas, hard back if I need a writing surface. But seriously, stop calling it a "man-bag." Just stop calling everything that men use "man-" something or other.
Oh, and by the way, I call mine a "Haversack."
The best part about a "man bag" is they don't make you take it off when you enter stores, unlike backpacks, for some reason.
This is so true
Gender fluidity
Pre and Post-contact Native American men carried manbags, more commonly know as bandolier bags to carry tools (e.g., for flintknapping) and medicines. They also were commonly beaded and a source of pride.
i was watching some clips of friends right before switching here and right before i heard " how you doin" :D. Cool
A must have!!! I love mine.
Nice. I need something to hold extra mags
Um, you could go with the time tested backpack, lol.
Well....you're not really a gray man if you're making comments on the internet..
I don't need a man-bag. All I need is a freaking beer holster!
What next ? ,advice on earrings, where do we put our eyeliner ?
Satchel is the correct word .
Man Bag thats just disgusting .
Can you make a video about ear piercings?
Ash & Serena :)
its super gay.
Muhammed Ahmedoglu what? ear piercings?
+Muhammed Ahmedoglu maybe ur just gay cuz u think it's super gay
Back packs will always rule, weather you like them or not because they are cheaper and they get the job done, real talk, suit or sport wear, back packs will always be on top, not all of them are two straps, some are one straps
Got a Nut sac satchel pro Great everything I use in it from multitool to tablet made to last
"how do we handle the need to carry crap with style and class...." LOL!!
I thought they were just called satchels.
..."it's not gay, it's European!"
+Toast what's the difference? They do it on that show

@IHate MyPast "iamverybadass"
You are just pathetic
@@JunkMailBoxStuff do you just go around copy and pasting that same comment on this video?
I like this speech style a lot more than what you use today alpha
My bags are Pacsafe, Osprey, North face and eagle creek,,,theyre functional and very durable
Hipster crap. it's not a man bag, it's called a satchel.
It's not hipster crap. All throughout Europe classy men wear them.
*maxpedition bags are the best*
Yeah but they arent wery stylish
I've used Maxpedition for almost ten years and they are still awesome and I still get compliments.
Who wears tac gear as an everyday thing?
When I was walking in the street some dudes stole my man bag including mi iPhone 6+, it was brand new 😭 they also tried to stab me
It was an original gucci btw
pssst...no one cares
I also fucked Madonna on the set of the new starwars
+MafiaT An "original Gucci, btw?" I hate to say that you were asking for it. So I won't.
Shit i woulda robbed you to
I have the small NutSac. At first I wasn’t liking it because it was stiff, but overtime it starts breaking in and can hold a lot. I love it now and will go for an bigger one.
Omgosh yes! You and I have shared a similar journey in dealing with severe asthma in our younger years, forcing us to adapt to an EDC system.
Indiana Jones wore a man bag. Debate over.
Arthur Morgan also had a man bag. Arguably the manliest
if they ask if its a purse, just tell them its your NutSac
I am form Europe and many guys have "man bags". However we don't call them "man bags".
its kind of the opposite, in the western side of the world.
What about fanny packs?
I have a Saddleback product - the Indiana Gear Bag. Totally awesome quality; 100 year warranty; $249. It's a bit taller than the Nutsac in your video, but otherwise similar in appearance.
Small to medium Messenger bag is my best fit. Big enough so if I need laptop and extra stuff without having to hassle around with multiple bags. I can easily carry it but its also low key enough to be an edc bag for. And consequently nutsac makes a satchel 15 model just for this.
Can't take a man bag to the club though...
+RJSusan but then where else are you gona put all those hot cosbys?
+GladX Personally I prefer those slow cosbys....
RJSusan You mean true luuuvvvvvvvveee
+RJSusan Then you use your man-clutch
You can just the nike ones
I recomend Tumi, a bit priced, but very good quality
I just leave everything in my car
For some people that would be very inconvenient. If leaving everything in your car works for you, then I guess a bag isn't something you need.
Tat2Dragons well i suppose :/
+masso172 I agree! I carry everything I need on me: wallet, phone, keys; and everything else is in the car. If I'm without a car, like when I'm traveling, then I'll carry a man-bag. I think these guys that have elaborate EDC, are a little crazy.
***** For me, it feels better to walk around without carrying too many things because its less weight on my back or shoulders, plus on most ocasions there isn't many things that I need other than my wallet, phone and keys.
+masso172 Wait until it gets broken into and you lose all stuff at once.
I carry a man bag, a nice leather one; and I'll slap the taste out of the mouth of anyone who sasses me.
That's what my jansports for...
I like using loungefly for my man gas. They’re always so cute and playful looking
oh yes, i remember. this was the first alpha m video i watched. i was looking for bags back then lol. subscribed right away.
