    I bought an arc 5 and a Philips 7000. I never imagined how good the Philips could be. So comfortable and an excellent shave, although I'm not after complete smoothness but you still get an extremely close shave. So easy to hold, glides over the face and rinses easily under the tap. The Panasonic is a superbly built shaver but something just doesn't feel right.

    Excellent review. Thank you. I’m at Costco and I’m picking up the Braun Series 9 Sport + because of your wonderful review and comparison.

    The Philips shavers might look flimsy, but it are the foil heads on the brown which are most fragile. Mine easily broke and the replacement cost of 35 euro's (versus 60 for a new S5!) is a major reason for me to switch back to Philips.

      Thanks for sharing your expirience! To be fair though, they cost just as much as for philips devices. The Blades themselves seem more durable though, you´re right! We didnt like the connection between the shaver and shaving element though.

    The Braun with its oscillating blade tends to chuck hairs out of the foil whilst the rotary blades tend to retain hair in the shaver body making less mess I have found.

    I've have the latest Phillips series 9000, the Panasonic Arc5 and Braun S9 Pro plus.. Phillips is the closest and quickest but leaves a rash/reddish under neck if getting the flat hairs .. Braun is the best IMO, especially when going over same area a few times with the tricky hairs under neck line, very gentle, the Braun pro plus trimmer (a upgrade compared to std pro model) is a far better trimmer than the phillips or Panasonic models.. Hope this helps 👍😊

      Thanks for the comment m8, that sounds interesting. We havnt checked the 9 Pro plus yet. The 9 pro already performed really well. We think it provided even smoother results than the Series 9000. How would you compare the shaving performance of the 9 pro plus to the series 9000 or the standard 9 pro?

    I can't decide between Braun Series 7 and Philips Series 5000. Braun costs twice as much.

    • @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195
      @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It depends on what your expecations are in my opinion. If u want a shave wich is as smooth as possible(no matter the cost) you should go for the braun series 7 or 9 pro.
      If you are looking for something more reasonable in regards to price/performance , the series 5000 is pretty good. More comfortable on the Skin, less skin irritation than braun. Not as good in regards to the shaving result. But a reasonable choice in the end.

    Also the triangular head is huge and very difficult to maneuver more than anything on the upper lip the sideburns and behind the ears.
    In addition, rotary discs cut further from the skin than BRAUN sheets.

    12:49 - That protrusion makes it hard to shave under the nose. Another bad thing about the Philips rotary shavers is that they just don't do a great job when shaving the head. Practically any foil shaver will do much better.

    • @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195
      @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah foileshavers work way better on "flatter" areas. Like under the nose or sideburns. Didnt shave our heads with those though. Skullshavers usually have the rotary blade system. We tested a couple of those as well on our german channel not too long ago. We will upload them here as soon as we got the translation and edit for that ready.

      It is possible, but I wouldn´t recommend it. It would be better to have a device with a included skin protection mechanism or something similar. Like a OneBlade Face and Body Variant for example.

    Can any of these shavers cut your skin?

    • @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195
      @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally speaking cuts could happen, yeah. I´d say with all of them. Its not like you cut yourself with every shave. But over the lifetime of these shavers it woulnt be suprising if you´ve cut yourself a couple of times. Those are only tiny cuts though. Not like with a wet razor. Whats more likely is that you will just get some sore spots or irritated skin.
      The foilshavers seem to be a bit more "rough" on the skin. But they do provide smoother results.

      The ones from philips in this case? Comparing these 8 shavers I can at least say that the philips shavers peformed a bit worse but where more comfortable than braun. The cutting results arent as good though.

    Great review!
    I had a Philips 1000 for many years. Did a decent job. About 2 years ago I bought a Philips 3000. While it’s a big improvement, I’m not impressed with the result. I expected better? Looks ok but doesn’t feel as smooth as I would like. Am I going to notice a significant improvement moving up?

    • @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195

      To be honest, that was kinda like the impression for us as well using electrical shavers for the first time. If you expect something like a wet shave you´d be dissapointed.
      In regards to your question: Yes they do get a bit better. Series 7 or 9 pro from Braun where defintetly better than lets say the series 5. but its not THAT big of a difference.

    I see no need to dry shave...unless your lying in a hasty slit trench on the edge of a rice paddy with incoming mortar fire. For dry shaving or preferably with a pre electric splash the Braun 7 AND 9 get the nod. For wet shaving the Phillips Norelco ( North American Electric Company= thats from the ' 60's lads)the 9500/9800 with a thin film of creamo (NOT FOAM) will get you as close as a safety razor. Keep the heads wet. Those light rings are not a gimmick. Like everything worth doing consistency is the key and the light rings help with that. Ha! which one to get? No one tool does it all!

    • @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195
      @wunschgetreu-reviewsmadein195  หลายเดือนก่อน

      😂 Kinda agree with you. Its way more comfortable und offers better results if you do a wet shave. Thanks for the info about the Phillips Norelco models. Maybe we check those out at some point.
