    I want to thank you for keeping my motivation up for Dm'ing. My group is soon done with The Lost Mines of Phandelver and are soon moving into my own campaign, and i've found it hard to organize and concentrate on things lately. It's always been messy behind my dm screen with dice, papers and pc, so it'll be nice getting rid of some papers. So thank you for helping me stay motivated for me and my players.

    From a cursory glance, this is more or less how I organize my scrivener file for my campaign setting. I put a bit more emphasis on locations though and fold in important NPC's based on their location.

    I don't know if you are still active here, but I've discovered an easy way of linking pages together. If you use double brackets like these: [[...]] you will link to a page in your notebook with the same name. If there is none with that given name, it will create a new page and link there. It saved a lot of time for me using this way.

    • @IcarusGames

    I just found these videos and I find them amazing. I really am working to get my world and notes into OneNote to help me stay organized. I wanted to know if you would put your thumbnails of NPCs somewhere I could download them so I can try to stay consistent on my descriptions. If not maybe some advice on how to get a large amount of them going so I can pick and choose as needed.

    Hey, This is a great resource.
    Unfortunatly when i try to copy each section the copy and move potions are greyed out making me unable to copy them over. Am i doing something wrong or is it just not enabled?
    Thanks again!

      All I can think is you're on a different version. It works fine for me on the windows 10 version available for free on the windows store. I've tried using Onenote online and if definitely doesn't work using that for me.

    • @cosmicbrambleclawv2
      @cosmicbrambleclawv2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      can confirm, doesnt work on 2007 onenote

    • @IcarusGames
      @IcarusGames  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not familiar with the 2007 version. As far as I know, if you open a notebook using OneNote online while signed in it should sync to your account and be accessible from any version after that.

    Very nice video. I downloaded the template and before I gut it any advice about adapting this to games that this old OSR Grognard runs (Basic/1E/2E D&D and clones thereof - particularly Swords and Wizardry)?

    • @IcarusGames
      @IcarusGames  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most of it will port over without change. Only the character sheets will need changing really. Most of the rest of the notebook is templates for factions, gods etc. Hope you find it useful!

  • @agitadora60
    @agitadora60 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What an incredible amout of work. Im certainly going to take some ideas from this. But the amount of information and graphics totally freezes my screen.

  • @GlenHallstrom
    @GlenHallstrom 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very good! I can see a use beyond this edition. Since I'm an OSR grognard you think it'll take much work to convert this DM Bible to something more OSR-usable (Basic/1E/2E/retro-clones/etc.)?

    • @IcarusGames
      @IcarusGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldn't be much work. A lot of the templates in there are pretty setting ahostic and it's only really the characters sheets that would need a major overhaul!

      @@IcarusGames Good to hear. I have a lot of my own campaign notes in OneNote but I can always use more structure and organization, seeing as I have about a half-dozen rule systems in there. :)

    I know this video is a year old but I'm really struggling here. Help! I don't know if it's an update in the last year, but I'm about to have a stroke trying to figure out how to copy the pages to onenote. I have the program open, desktop version, but the link only opens in the web version. That prevents me from copying the pages. If anyone can help, I'd be grateful!

    • @IcarusGames
      @IcarusGames  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This should work in either version;
      Start by making a new notebook and naming it.
      Then in the DM Bible, right click on a section (such as "locations").
      There should be a move/copy option. Click copy and it will open a dialogue box that will show all the sections in the notebook. In the top left of that box should be an arrow that lets you navigate up to your notebooks where you can select the new notebook you created and put the copied section there.
      That should then sync across all your signed in accounts and be openable on the desktop version.

    • @SamanthaSmith-fp1ez
      @SamanthaSmith-fp1ez 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IcarusGames Thank you so much for the response! Unfortunately, I did try this, but when I open the link it won't let me copy anything. All Copy options are grayed out. It's open in the web version, which i think is part of the problem. It won't save anything in the desktop app, which removes most of the options for changing notebooks and such. :( Any help would be very appreciated!

    • @IcarusGames
      @IcarusGames  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SamanthaSmith-fp1ez Are you signed in on the web version? If not, then sign in then click the link again. That *should* add the notebook to your account, so when you open the desktop version you should be able to open "more notebooks" and see it in the list and copy the sections to a fresh book.
      If that doesn't work, pop an email to info@icarusminiatures.com and I'll manually add you to the notebook on my end.

    Does anyone know how to remove you're Sections from the top of the screen? I have them set to the left but they are also on the top which is very bothersome.
    I got into trying to use this because of this channel and plan to one way or the other but i find it a bit distracting i'd rather have it all on the left.

    • @IcarusGames
      @IcarusGames  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know all on the top is OneNote 2016 and all on the left is OneNote UWP, so you just need to change the version you're using!
