Thank you Damon, that was incredibly interesting and disturbing. I love your statement at the end... I have lived between James Island and downtown Charleston since I was a small child , and ever since even then, I have been hypnotized by the simultaneity amazing and dark history of this place.

Visited Charleston recently and they STILL have no sign. It is a shame. As I placed my hand on the trunk I was moved to tears as I thought about how a tree of life was used to take lives of innocent human beings. PLEASE continue to share the story.
