  • Hi - welcome to this weeks mass making workshop. Here we are making some fun chipboard tiles, they can be used for a variety of different things, but hopefully you will join me for next week's mass making where we will use some of these for another project. Hope you manage to craft along, and get some serious mass making done with me during these workshops which I am hoping to upload every Tuesday. Many thanks for watching, and I would really love it if you could give this video a like and subscribe to my channel, Tinax

    These chipboard tiles are wonderful, Tina! tfs. I have so much chipboard stowed away, and off cuts from doing arti things, so now I'm glad I saved them instead of binning the small pieces. I'm definitely gonna be making the tiles. Your videos are amazing, and you have such a lovely gentle personality. At first I thought that your finger was merely stained from red paint, but when you explained that it was a burn mark I was horrified; it looks as if it was a bad burn, even now actually. Glad that it's getting better. I don't have a lot of stamps yet, and those that I do have I think that I might have been a little too naive when purchasing them, since some of them are awful, with curling edges and too little depth to the actual stamp on them; but I do have hundreds of stickers, some very tiny; and I know that that may sound like cheating, but well... lol.
    I do hope your finger gets better real soon. :)

      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much Lauren, I was really touched by your kind comment. Thank you. Yes, my finger is healing well now, but it just flared up really badly and kept burning and spreading. It does look a little like a stain from red paint, lol. I think we've all made those same mistakes when buying stamps unfortunately. Great idea for using tiny stickers, have fun with your tiles x

    Hi Tina, glad to see your finger healing up nicely. I used a bit of paint on my chipboard, then I added decorative tissue over the paints, and I added the gold or bronze around the edges. Glossy accents was the last layer and they look so beautiful. On the back I did a stencil and a tiny label so the backs really look finished. Hugs from Florida.

    I am thrilled to learn that you are going to be presenting a "beginners" series. You are SOOOOO right about how a newcomer like myself will put off actually starting a journal! I have been purchasing supplies and making ephemera since the beginning of the pandemic, but no journal yet! I felt a little sheepish about the fact that even though I had never even made a journal, I still needed to "Tidy Up" on Fridays with you -- only, in my case, it was trying to find a good way to store all of my BRAND NEW SUPPLIES!! So, thank you , Tina, for saving me from having to attend "crafting purchasers anonymous" meetings. (Hi, my name is Joy D and I am addicted to glues and ink pads...") Really looking forward to embarking on the journey with you!

    this is so perfect, I have so so many chip boards, because my family seems to want to absolutely support me in what I am doing that they save eveeeerrrrything for me and I have I think 10 pounds of the stuff, Other than using for book covers and the thinner ones for journal cards and tags......I ran out of options. I was watching a video the other day. Unfortunately, I don’t remember who it was. She was talking about things to use for crafting from the Dollar Tree here in the US. She used clear nail polish to seal little tiles and give it that shiny look. I haven’t tried that, but it seems like it would work and a good alternative. Hugs 🤗

    In the summer I have a little desk fan to dry things. Plus it keeps me cool while I craft. The cameo stamp that doesn't stick you can put glue stick or double stick tape. I use triple thick instead of glossy accents because you get 3 times mor for the same price. The only thing is that you have to use a brush. I don't know if it would work in a squeeze bottle. Chip board tiles is a great mass make item. ❤❤❤

    TFS this mass-making tutorial, Tina, I have a bunch of peg stamps, and other than making washi tape, I was wondering what other use they had. For folks who may want peg stamps, try eBay. I got mine from Esty. Looking forward to trying this project!

    Hello, new sub here! Happened upon your channel, and so happy I did. A little tip: instead of sandpaper, I use cheap emery boards on edges of small pieces. Easy & quick.

      Another tip. It's easier to rub the chipboard on the sandpaper rather than the sandpaper on the chipboard- if you get my meaning!

    I'm thinking I might use the "Tim Holtz" tissue paper over the stamping and add small metal embellishment under the Glossy Accent.

    I have loved this video Tina and was hopping that you would do one on chip board tiles, the chip board is it the same thickness as you would use on a cover to make a journal? What colour acrilic paints did you use please x

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I think it is the same sort of thickness. I just used what I had in my paint basket, just a sage type green, an olive green, a pale lilac, an ivory and a pale pink x

    I’ve wanted to see this since I saw them in one of your tidy Fridays. I have puzzle pieces I’ve stamped with script and some I can cut. The glossy accents is what I’m needing so I can pick some up but have everything else done. May have glossy mod Podge I can try and see if it works. Lots of tiny stamps, too. Thanks Tina

      P. S. I, too, a looking forward to your beginner series. I made only one journal in the last year. It turned out nicely, but I think it was a fluke and I am intimidated to try another.

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tiny flowers were from my English Country Garden flower fussy guts set, I printed them out 4 to a page to get them so tiny.
      I am sure that your next journal will be just as nice as the first, maybe even better :-) . I know what you mean though, sometimes if something goes well, it's almost off putting to try it again through fear of disappointment. My beginners series will be coming soon x
