Listening to you about your printer....mine is doing that right now. I too tried everything. I remembered in my working days that when all else fails turn everything off then turn it back on. Low and behold it worked. Now it still acts up, but I just cancel my print and then shut it down.
Onto your migraines...I get them often and yes, the aura before and yes, you can't do anything, but when I go into my dark bedroom to lay down all I can think about it what I want to do...ha, stress is a big one for causing migraines. Lol
So I put on relaxing music and put a jell pack on my forehead and it helps me to go to sleep. It really helps me.
By the way, I love the acetate windows. I have done the slides like that. The butterfly ones and vintage photos look great on the acetate and put into the slide frames.

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Oh aren't printers just so infuriating when they decide to play up? Yes, like you say quite often just switching off and on sorts it out, but not this time :-( .
Thank you for your tip about the gel pack, I might have to get one of those, like you I struggle to relax and not be feeling frustrated that I can't be getting on with other things.
Great idea for making the slides this way too x

Really like these window pockets. Good idea. If the glue on your hand bothers you, keep a wet kitchen towel or cloth rag on your desk, perhaps in a plastic container. Otherwise,it's your business, not ours.

I am so sorry about your migraines, I get them all the time and they can last for days sometimes … I usually get very confused and they can bother my vision at times. I hope it goes away soon. Hugs, Laurette! 🤗🌸🤗

Thank you Laurette, I am feeling much better now, but yes it caused a kind off dullness for the entire day, and a headache (but thankfully not the type that I had to stay in a darkened room for the whole day). They are just terrible aren't they? You definitely have my sympathy having them lasting for days at a time, how awful. Take care x

Love these pockets, I have just ordered some acetate for printing on, so can’t wait to make them. I hope you feel better soon. I too suffer with migraines so sympathise, my doctor prescribed me “Sumatriptan” which you take one tablet as soon as you feel a migraine starting and they prevent it turning into a full blown one. Touch wood, since I’ve been taking them I haven’t had a really bad migraine. I had to smile when you mentioned me as your TH-cam friend while talking about HTGAWM. I have sent you a message on Etsy. Xxxxx❤️

Thank you Heather, and also for the name of the medication for migraines, I will see if I can be prescribed some, as just preventing them from turning into a "full blown" one would be great. They really are awful when they happen, and inconvenient too! Yay, I am pleased to have made you smile :-) . I replied to your message a earlier this evening. Hope you're having a good evening x

Heyyy Dollface, So I have had you on autopilot... 24/7 not kidding... youtube recommended a playlist and I have been down a rabbit hole and little (single white female with a splash of hand that rocks the cradle) lol Oh my goodness... and I have been crafting along... So here's the thing... I wrecked my tidy... I realized I can't get up an open a box in the middle of being in a zone... I know you know what I mean... so I made some stuff and made it a home as I go... some had a home but out grew it... So it got evicted but it's all good. Oh I made your paper flowers they were fiddley so I revised it to simplify.... you'll die it was so easy... and fun... big tub of those... I made butterflies... had to draw most... I did paper and fabric.. I made gypsy vagabond SHABBY tassel bows Soooo cute.... Oh I put all my naked,, showered and half dressed papers back into the box I made like your ikea one... had to needed that close... and I spray painted some containers... I have been trying to push through but so discouraged without a printer... oddly as I'm typing yours broke... "It wasn't me" Lol but now you know how the peasant printerless live HA!!! everything I have is hand made and painted just frustrating is all... your things are sooo beautiful... hence the stalker in me... not sure I can mass make anymore ... I'm not selling so it's a lot of stuff to keep moving around... It's funny the questions you get asked... why would it bother someone where you wipe your glue blows my mind... You have a YUGE child's playful spirit... I had a little girl about your daughter age in my class that did that.... it's wierdly cute lol... and it never matters How you get there as long as you get there......here's my quick tip Hot glue a credit card to a soft hair tie and put on your left hand like a mini plate to wipe your glue... or keep doin' you either way it works... lol I lied making stamped images mass making Uggghh I found a vacant lot to fill... yeah!! I been stampin on the acetate too I got a roll on refill at staples for like $3.00 seems to work... it's an office item so it should stay put we shall see. ha!! I suffer severe migraines Doc.... is running out of options as I have adverse reverse effects... I see globes before the eye pain and sit in darkness a lot... peppermint essential oils on wrists and where you would put vicks... a cold compress behind your neck While your feet are in hot water helps... sometimes... mine can last over a week while on preventative migraine meds as well as one for break through... I have a tenant upstairs like Rachael enough said... so tootles for now Oh p.s. I added you to my pinterest... or I followed you whatevssss girl... I hit you up there same name...k ttys x I wrote another book... going to play...yeah

Hi Tina, these are awesome. I’ve made them with lace because I don’t have any acetate. Now I’m definitely going to get some.
You mentioned the weather. Today is our 3rd day of constant snow. We have about 32 inches so far and it’s not supposed to stop for another 6 hours 😀. Take care and hugs 🤗

@@shabbydabbydoodah we ended up with about 34-35 inches and it finally stopped yesterday afternoon. Then last night we got another inch during the night 😂.

Yet another fun and informative mass make. Well, mini-mass this time! Whenever you add the black lace I have such mixed feelings about how it looks. Great book page pockets !
Printer : I’ve had them issues with my ink jet printers in the past ... it could be possibly the thicker paper your using in the printer the rollers don’t last that long when you use thicker papers card stock. You should look up what gsm of paper it can hold . Printers are my worst headache ! Hope you get your new one soon . Tfs

Hi Tina, I have the HP 5660 printer and the Instant Ink program and I am having the exact same issues as you. I found out it is defective ink cartridges. The minute you install a new cartridge the problems go away. I was told to call HP and let them know you have defect cartridges so they can replace them. I had an entire batch of bad cartridges they had to replace. It isn’t your printer. 😊 Great pockets, love them! Wow, what an interesting book you're using. All that WWII history and photos. I hope the heavy subject matter doesn't transfer to the finished product. Love using the transparent film. It looks great. I like using a UHU gluestick to do book pages. It covers a large surface area and isn't so warpy to the paper. But to each her own glue!

I just got a new replacement HP printer today. Mine stopped printing the color Cyan. Come to find out they had a bunch of defective ink cartridge. I also have the instant ink program. The cartridges were made in Malaysia. Also, the yellow had a problem too. I have the Office JetPro 8350 series. I would call HP, they might replace the printer. The rep told me it ruins your print head.

Oh how annoying. I did wonder if they had been sending defective printer cartridges. I have a replacement printer finally coming on Tuesday, can't wait!!!! Enjoy having a printer again :-) x

Oh Tina, you're going to laugh at this. They gave me painkillers that make me drowsy and I dozed off watching this. I dreamt I was trying to help you find something you'd made in a huge room full of boxes of paper and you kept saying " but I tidied this last Friday " 😂😂😂, so funny. Love these envelopes though 💖

I was thinking they have gift bags that are clear and could be used. Not sure about printing on them but they would be good a window. I don't know if they have Dollar Tree where you live but I would think any craft store would have them.

I love the window pockets idea, will put them on my to do list!
I have a HP Envy, and when she prints properly she’s brilliant, but then for some reason prints everything yellow? Drives me crazy! I’m on the instant ink bundle and find
    1. Don’t seem to get a lot of prints from the cartridges.
    2. Often prints things in very deep shades when they should be pastel, and
    3. Wastes ink and paper printing everything yellow!
I’m wondering if it’s the printer or the cartridges. I think I need to call HP and see
what they say? I must say I have always used HP, always loved them and never had any problems until I got this one.
I also have a Canon Pixma but she likes to eat the edges of the paper now and then, but I get a lot more prints from the cartridges! Aren’t printers brilliant but can be soooo annoying?

Thank you so much, and also for your feedback about the printer! They are just a nightmare when they play up aren't they? Like you say they are brilliant when they are working, but just beyond frustrating when they play up!! Yes, phone HP as printing everything yellow quite often doesn't sound right x

It always amazes me that you can cut such a perfectly straight line on the edges and thing's. I have an HP Evny something I had instant ink and I hated it. I have 3 boxes of instant ink that I will never use. They would charge me at the first of the month and again at the end and then at the first. So I was paying them twice a month for ink. And if the second payment was not covered they would turn my printer off. And refused to turn it back on. And then it would go back to paying twice a month. So I now after it sat unusable for a year, I started buying the ink from Amazon.

Oh no, I am sorry to hear about your poor experience with the HP Instant Ink, I have been really lucky and haven't had any problems, I really love it and find it great value x

Dear Tina, I love your channel and your art is absolutely gorgeous. I was thinking maybe you can try to use a little bit less glue....This thing with extra glue on a hand is really painful to watch. Of course you don’t have to take into consideration some thoughts of a random subscriber. Really I believe people should do what’s best for them. I just thought that since you started to use a new bottle for glue it has a bigger tip and it dispenses more glue. Also extra glue seems to dry slower. Regardless your channel is great. I just thought maybe less glue will help. I am sorry if this looks like a critique. I am just struggling with this new habit of putting glue on hand. Don’t know why it causes so much discomfort. Sorry about that 🥺

Hi Alisa - thank you so much for your taking the time to comment, and for your kind words. I really do appreciate your constructive criticism, and absolutely no worries, I am not offended. You have a great point, the extra glue is because of the switching out the bottles, which makes it hard to control the amount of glue flow. I will try and not wipe the glue on my hand from here on :-) x
