  • A few items have changed in the kit, flanges are now aluminum centerless flanges much better quality, less vibration and will fit any grinder. the white pad is now a blue/white mix or a domet flannel and the menzerna bars are new and imporved also green for cutting and blue for finishing.
    thanks for watching, Denis!

    Hi Dennis. Great instructional s , you do such a awesome job . My question to you is , I,m working on my 28' aluminum "I" frame boat trailer that has been in and out of salt water , do I follow the same steps as you do for the other aluminum that you polish ? I want the trailer looking as sharp as the work you do . Keep up the great work Dennis thank you again...... Kevin from Michigan

    dennis, just bought so old style freightliner rims, but they have a lot of old asphalt and road wear, I acid wash them but still can't get clean enough to polish. should I start sanding or get a wire brush

      I use a flat screw driver or a scrapper to remove the big chunks, then SOS with varsol/mineral spirits to clean the rest and it should be ready for sanding. thanks for watching!

    Great job on the videos. I did a pontoon boat like the one in one video, but during the summer, the logs started to tarnish. So, I'm back to sanding again. Do I need to start with 220 and work all the way to the end as if I'm doing this for the first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

      If you just polished it at the beginning of the season often you don’t even need to re-sand. But 600 and 1000 is usually enough

    What is finish approximately ..what grit ???
    I own a natural stone restoration company. When we refinish marble for instance...The final grit before a vitrification polish process we stop at 800 or 1800. Even though the polish will have a 500 grit property in the polish.. have you ever taken aluminium up to a higher grit?
    Thank you

    • @DCSuperShine
      @DCSuperShine  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a DA I stop at 600 and when I use a high speed rotary I stop at 1000 anything higher is a waste of time when you use quality compounds. Hope this helps

    I saw a video where a guy sprayed a small amount of WD-40 on when they sanded....Any thoughts?????

    • @DCSuperShine
      @DCSuperShine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya some use oil or grease when they sand, it helps with heat and makes the paper last longer... that’s what they say anyways.. imo it’s fucking waste of time and makes an unwanted mess. :)

    • @DCSuperShine
      @DCSuperShine  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My bars have changed a bit since this video. I still use Menzerna but they came out out with a much better heavy cut bar... the 439T green heavy cut. And I finish with the 480BLF blue hope this helps and thanks for watching
