Hahah i think I DID actually talk for around 10 mins about Boggart in my Dung Eater video! He deserves the spotlight. Thank you for enjoying my video regardless :)
Horses can eat frozen fruit no issue. I freeze grapes in the summer still on the vine and will hang the frozen grapes on hemp strings and it helps the horses comfort in the hot weather of summers. Sliced banana frozen can be a nice treat too.
It would be amazing if you or another could create a "Real" cookbook based on the lore. I bought one based on the game "Skyrim" and a great time making many of them!
Yes!!! I love those video game cookbooks, have a couple actually. I was surpised that one doesn't already exist for Elden Ring. Hmmm we will have to do something about that!
@@jpegPS1try melting marshmallows and butter then adding it to rice crispies and red velvet cake mix. Stir it with some red food colouring and then shape it into the dumplings. For added effect bake a sponge cake, cut it to the shape of the jar shared and then cover it with brown fondant.
Great, now you got me hungry lol. Part of me wishes they kept the option to have Torrent hang around and graze when you dismount him. Would add a little bit more immersion, and Torrent is a good boi who needs his rest and Rowa seeds.
I have never used any of the food items before so this feels like discovering a whole new part of the game even if it is as small as food it adds so much .
Well crafted video Miss Chalice! Nice detailed info, gave the ingame food much realism indeed. Also shoutout to Boggart for cooking my favourite meat in Elden Ring!
I never thought Elden Ring had this much detail! I didn't even think twice about the ingredients I picked up along my playthrough. Knowing that every item has this much thought put into them makes me love the game even more!
I love this video, as someone who has eaten some of these foods (I have eaten Snapping Turtle, Chickens Feet, Liver, Seafood Jerky) and a lot of this is very good. SUBSCRIBED!
I would love to see more kind of obscure approaches to the lore of Elden Ring like this. Like tackling some of the elements we take for granted. Other item types would be super cool too.
Day off, it's raining outside, this seems like a good video to pass some time. On the topic of cooking or simply just crafting, I think it's wonderful that the option is there and you can get through the entire game without ever using it once as I have, which is funny considering I love cooking irl.
these vids are still amazing as ever glad to see you back another youtuber is doing entire sectioned play vids on 1.0 disc its crazy the amount of stuff has changed since then
3:30 so i always just assumed that the turtles eat crab eggs, crabs, maybe even land octopi if they are small enough. Possibly mosquitos and slugs and whatever else
Nice, I was looking forward to your next video :) By the way Miss Chalice, I switched to Opera GX since your last vid (I was so tired of Chrome & Edge), it's soooo much better! Thank you and congrats on getting sponsored by them!
The connection between the Rowa fruits and the Cranberries blew me away. Just when I think Fromsoft has boundaries when it comes to inspiration and the research they do, something as simple , common, and forgettable as a fruit tells me otherwise. It's the little details, and the sum of all those details that confirm me that games are actually cheap considering the amount of work that goes behind them.
This was so relaxing and interesting to listen to! It was cool seeing all the connections between food in the game and in reality. Lovely video Chalice :]
Just to also throw in, I looked up what a bolus is since there are quite a few of them. Apparently it’s “a small rounded mass of a substance, especially of chewed food at the moment of swallowing. ‘mucin holds the particles of food together in a ball or bolus’” so whenever you use a bolus in game you’re like a baby bird eating pre-chewed food
Honestly, the boluses are pretty practical when you think about it; they're a spongey ball of moss presoaked in an antidotal/medicinal solution. The mouth feel would be atrocious, but making use of moss's ability to retain fluid to pre-measure doses of curatives for swallowing on the go is sensible.
I haven't finished the video yet but I want to ask this question before I forget so if you answered it in the video don't worry about it cuz I'm going to finish. If Torrent is a spirit, why and how does he eat?
It's a super intresting video and i'm starting to love your content, asmr elden ring lore is something i never knew could exist and now, altough i didn't like elden ring lore that much i'm fully invested, but why when you talked about turtle neck meat you showed videos of dogs?
I’m glad I was eating while watching this, cuz the way you presented the exalted flesh made me salivate over the dish I was already eating 😅 Ps. I was eating rice with steak and some fruit salad
Since you're back, have you done an episode on the membrance Erd Tree Blessings (environmental rune increase without consuming the golden crawl foot)? If not, would be a fun topic to hear you go over.
I believe the reason the neck meat is used because of its long, thick appearance. I think any meat from the turtle would be nutritious and boost stamina. But if it is supposed to be a male aphrodesiac then association by appearance is also desired.
With regard to Boggart calling it "prawn" ... it might be a translation thing as the terms prawn, shrimp, lobster, crayfish & crawfish all kinda mean the same type of crustacean depending on the culture. In Australia, prawns & lobsters are marine animals & shrimp, crayfish & crawfish are fresh water animals.. but in the USA, shrimp & prawn are more or less the same thing. I think ! ;)
I honestly never knew about the cooking with a bone fact, but now that you mention it, I wonder if thats why they do that in the anime one piece, also I gotta try this with moose meat, maybe a cow bone could do as we can buy those easily. Thank you so much for making this video, I missed your voice and I have theory crafted so many different recipes as I am typing this.
I'm not even playing Elden Ring right now, I still enjoy these lore videos 😋 ER videos are something you would presume to be "ugly and cruel" but Miss Chalice makes them beautiful
I really almost skipped this one cause, well I didn’t care about the food. But again you crush it and show how important it is to the creatives that built this world.
In BoTW and ToTK I have a rule and that is do not harm a fox. In ER, do not harm a turtle. I will buy or earn the meat, but I will not do the bidding myself.
Thanks for pointing out that the market for "aphrodisiacs" that don't actually work made from endangered animals. Big problem. Also this video is one reason I love Boggart. I like a man who can cook
@miss_chalice hi, big fan! Could you please do a video on my favorite character, Alexander the Warrior Jar? ❤ all your work & I’m very excited for the bloodborne video!
Bro. I commented on an Honored Madman video on how more lore TH-camrs should cover food in Elden Ring and I mentioned Miss Chalice. Did I just predict the future?
Haha that's a crazy coincidence. OR IS IT. Oh but seriously manifestation is REAL Thanks for commenting something like that ! Glad I could make it come true
Now this is the type of lore I’m subscribed for
My favorite Elden Ring snack would have to be Shabriri grapes! I sure love grapes, it would be a shame if anything nefarious were going on with them!
I was expecting 10 minutes talking about best boy Boggart, but hearing Miss Chalice talk about all the other sources of food was just as welcome.
Hahah i think I DID actually talk for around 10 mins about Boggart in my Dung Eater video! He deserves the spotlight. Thank you for enjoying my video regardless :)

You never hurt the Turtle Pope, he's the purest source of light in the Lands Between.

This was perfect. The song in background, the fancy book page graphics for the items, the work you put into the lore, your soothing voice as always!

Oh same!! That would be so cute. I'm still devastated that they gutted the armor/customisation of Torrent. Love that boy
It would be cute if some sites of grace in grassy areas had him walking around in the background as you sit at it
This video has the bakings of a true Well-Done Lord

Thank you so much!! It was so satisfying to link the fictional items to real food. I'm glad you appreciated it as well! And I second that shout-out!
Thanks for the video! This combo of coziness, nerdiness, and "deep-dive" feeling scratches some sort of Elden Ring itch.
I love this look into such niche lore, this is phenomenal
