"Drape in the same type of fabric that you eventually want to sew with." THANK YOU! Why didn't anyone tell me this before?! You just saved my hair from me pulling it out in frustration!!🥰

Oh my goodness! 50 years of sewing and I’ve learnt a hugely valuable technique today. I’m so very grateful… not only for you sharing your knowledge, but for your calm, clear and relaxed teaching method. I’ve tried to learn this from books, but this is far better. Thank you so much. Greetings, once again, from the U.K. 😊

Draping is my favorite lesson to share with my students. Thank you for showing draping different styles right off the bat. Great tips.

    Thank You!
This is the only time I've seen this being explained... draping and constructing a dress on a manikin! Normally I'll see a quick video of fabric being pinned to a manikin, then the video ends. At least the videos I find, there isn't any further instructions on what to do.
So thank you very much for this detailed video on draping on a manikin! Please do more of them if you have time!!! I'm a new subscriber to your channel and love your videos!
Thank you also for just being you and talking normal. Nice to see a real normal person making videos. Very relatable , just love your videos!

Another video! Thanks Catherine. This is something that I have always been reluctant to teach the students. I personally love to drape to make custom pieces. Thanks for this video. It’s interesting that we don’t know what we don’t know. Thanks for all the little things I didn’t know. Excellent. 😁💜

Thank you for such a clear, thorough demonstration. I work on fashion dolls and draping is probably the best method to design things beyond basics, and your video alleviated a lot of my anxiety regarding this method. Nooooow I just need pinnable dress forms of the dolls. X)

Thank you so much for mentioning and addressing knit fabrics! I'm trying to upcycle/refashion a friend's old loop scarf for her by pinning on my dressform (set to her size) and was so worried it would just be a sack on the real person 😆 - but of course knits won't do that!

that's a method that I would love!! I want to recreate a dress I saw and this will be the way to do it. Also I find it hard to find dress patterns that don't have a horizontal waist seam, I prefer the long seams from the top of the bodice to the bottom of the skirt and they are fitted. I find the horizontal waist seam can make a person look shorter. I love a straight long skirt with a mid thigh slit right up the side seam
