My circle is small and it grew even smaller by my late 20s. There came a day I scrolled my contacts to ask for a movie partner and realised none will work out. That's when I decided to watch movies alone in theater and boy oh boy it gave this fulfillment of superior cinematic experience all by myself.
Agreed 100%, No Interruptions is the best part of watching it alone. I toh still put my phone on silent during home watching also. Infact, used to ignore calls of my friends in 2015-16 sitting at home and watching movies.
Going for a movie alone have been a therapeutic experience for me. I could able completely immerse myself inside that film's world and when the film ends, I could able to peacefully recollect every single good thing about the film without getting clouded by anyone's opinion.
I am a 63 year old Film Fanatic. I see 200 films a year IN THEATERS. I go alone most of the time and like to sit super close with no distractions. I do not need a person next to me. I always say " Do you need someone with you when you read a book???"
Very relatable,Raunaq. Mysskin once said that 'Cinema acts as a therapy'. I started realising that when I started going to the theatres alone. I know a lot of my friends/family still judge me for it but it's one of the very few places I feel comfortable with myself and a place where I can emote whatever I feel while connecting with the characters on screen. :')
Today was my Uni freshers celebration (though I am in sem 2) which I ditched and went to watch a movie by myself. Itt was cathartic to bravely enjoy my own company and immerse myself into a well crafted tale. I might never get the chance to be 18 and attend freshers party again but I sure won't the regret the way I decided to spend the day today. I finally decided not to miserable and pretentious ( I don't have that many friends), and do something that I truly enjoy. I took a different turn than intended and I feel so calm and contended.
I got so used to eating alone during my college days and somehow in months i got away from the fear of being judged. I hated whenever the question arises " Why you eating alone? where is all your friends?". Dude, ofcos its amazing to do things with your loved ones and at the same time it is also 100% okay to go to a restaurant by yourself and eat! and not just restaurant, it can be anything. Watch a movie, to a bar, for a vacation, literally anything. Except for a wedding dude! No i didnt like it. I'd rather not go. Experienced it, regretted and learned from it. Even though u are going for the food, Vendave vendam! Athuke yetho oru restaurant ku polam. My first movie all by myself was OK KANMANI. Took the train and reached 15 min right before the movie. 10AM sharp! The theater ticket dude was looking for my partner. Deyh naane thedaleh, nee yen pa feel pandreh. Theater was filled with couples. But yet i enjoyed the whole experience! No regrets. okay bye bye
funny you mention the wedding - I did so a few years ago and nearly peed my pantses. Found two lovely sisters to hang out with though and in the end even sneakily took my chair over to their table before dinner began because I didn't know anyone else and didn't want to sit at a strangers table ;-D
Beautifully articulated. I could relate to every sentence you spoke. I've been going to films alone since my college days. It's truly a magical experience. No dependencies, no expectations and just unbiased individual experiences. In fact, I also love watching big-budget spectacles alone. You're just one whistle away from making a new temporary friend, where the rapport lasts only till the credits appear. It's beautiful. And the best time to experience a movie like it's meant to be is a night show, where people who are really interested in watching it would show up. I remember watching Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The hall had very few people but the connect in our responses to scenes was magical. When you're making a plan with your friends, it no longer remains your plan. You are expected or obliged to change it for those who had a second-hand interest in watching it. I wish more people ventured out into watching movies alone. Now with alternative seats, I somehow feel it's become more beautiful.
One hundred percent relatable video. I always used to go to theatres alone. The experience of consuming the movie from its tittle card till the end card is always so exciting and satisfying. And also no one will ask any dumb question in the middle of any scenes. Entering into that movie world and engaging with those stranger audience makes the entire experience so special.
I have been watching movies alone since my class 10. I am 31 now. Not every movie but minimum of 10 movies per year. I enjoy going to theatres alone, watching movie with strangers. I also don’t have the habit of eating anything or using mobile phones. Actually, many times i would switch off my mobile when entering theatre. My last outing to theatre was 1917(alone) in sathyam before the lockdown starts. Waiting for a good movie to resume my theatre visits again.
Most relatable video ever 🤧 It's been two to three years since I started going to the movies by my self.and every single time it has been a great experience. The first time It was very nervous and scary but after that every single time I ask my friends if they want to come just for a formality and enjoy the movie by my self . 😌
Since the Age of 17 yrs I'm watching movies alone by myself & going to Theatres all alone. Even i dont like interruptions at all watching movie alone literally changed my cinema taste, perspective about how filmmaking is an also an art.
When I was in my 9th grade asuran was released . I am a ultra movie-Buff and go and watch each and every movie that releases in the teeter near my house . That day on my own I managed to collect each and every money note and went on my own and bought the tickets . That day I was alone at home and finally got a ticket for the afternoon show and rest was magic
I actually didn't know it's considered weird watching a film alone in the theater when i first did. I always preffered watching alone except when the other people had a shared interest with me about the film(actor, genre, music director, animation), to this day I wouldn't ask my friends to come to a movie if they are not fully interested. The first time i went alone to watch a movie, it was a very serene experience, you can laugh, cry, feel happy/sad comfortably than with some company. I hate when people point out whats bad in the movie right when the movie ends, dude stop, just..., let me contemplate/process and appreciate whats been good. The last time i went alone was for Frozen 2, loved it, now that theaters are opening, looking forward to go to many more And yeah hate watching a movie with friends is the best
As an introvert I could relate so much myself to this I've always been there for myself doing things alone never mixed up into any groups or circles in a childhood times my fam and some of my class teachers and mates would often taunt me for being super quite and alone nobody understood me back in my college days I would often go to beach alone by skipping lectures where I would feel myself more in nature plug over my earphones and listening to music.. being in a lonestar state I do several amount of things by myself such as going to run, cycling, even going to movies, travelling and many more.. until later I met one dude and we turned on to be good buddies back in days we use to gossip a lot about marvels dc and lot of adventure activities we felt interestingly common about in each other we did ton of things together but later he got shifted to another place likely far from where I live but even tho he still use to manage to come over to his previous place and still we would carry up with our stuff before covid everything was running better and in steady state but now after covid he's kinda changed a lot in lockdown period we would mostly discuss on phone calls about the stuff and all we promised to meet up soon as this lockdown gets over but now after it he doesn't tend to come up and meet over we even planned about to travel but he doesn't go along with it especially on weekends we spend an hour talking on phone calls only discussing i ask him everytime that what's wrong going? he says that's everything's ok we discuss on our topics and he everytime promises that we would meet up someday face to face just like nearly an year is passed out and from last almost 3 years we haven't seen each other face.. it ain't like that we're not talking to each other the only thing is that he is not giving importance to our priorities i get mad on him most of the time trying to explain to him but he never listens.. but it's ok now in the end it doesn't matter sometimes we shouldn't expect from someone to be out there for us we gotta let them go even tho we're being close for years but it's ok I don't really insist him anymore tho neither I don't keep any hopes from him.. time will show up someday for now I'm just on living by myself staying blessed for what I have around😊 keeping faith in god.. and yeah i'm also gonna be going for avatar 2 obviously alone😄 which is releasing few days from now been eagerly waiting up for it
I totally relate to this! 2019 Jan 1st was that day all this happened! New year's eve I cut a cake all by myself and enjoyed. The next day traveled 40kms to Trichy and saw Seethakadhi.. I just enjoyed the entire process💙 Watching a movie here in Bangalore might be challenge to me. But, I'm in! In some months🤩 waiting for Fanstastic Beasts and the Secrets of Dumbledore
I went to watch ' No time to die' alone in theaters because it's nearly impossible to convince anyone to watch a nearly three hour long movie with no subtitles and yeah the feeling of arriving on time no waiting and that sense of independence is a really greaf feeling you don't have to explain any scene someone missed and yeah even if the movie turns out average or bad there's no one to complain.... Wowww imagine that you did something terrible and there's no one to complain that's literally dream world
Accidentally I watch pariyerum Perumal alone in theater, cuz of my friends leave me and gone to watch chekka sevantha vaanam. I hated went alone but I just stunned while the film starts. I'm feel free to watching it and happily cry without fears. It teach lot of lessons. I hope that's one of the greatest cinematic experience ever.
It's always good to enjoy your own company and a movie theater is one of the best places to do it. Enjoying the travel, the theater ambiance and the movie all by yourself is a whole different story. 😍😍
I used to watch a lot of movies in theatre alone after my family stopped watching movies with me in my teens. I used to watch alone, then I was joined by a friend who is also a movie buff like me. After a long time, I watched Venom alone a couple of weeks back since he was busy, and it was a different experience. No one to discuss the scenes during the interval and after the movie, didn't have to check with him when he'll reach the theater.
Mostly I watch Movies alone in theaters.. Because I don't like to have any kind of distractions while watching it. And I can able to understand and think peacefully about the impact which every single film gave me.
I always love to watching movies alone in theatre, cuz my circle is small only few people they are not always free and they're not always connected to my taste, This is connectable to my life ❤️and when am going alone in theatre itz gives me some confidence,
I have watched Silence, Once Upon a time in Hollywood, Ford V Ferrari, Parasite, Birdman,The Revenant, The Batman, Dune, War for the planet of the apes, It chapter 1,2 and my favourite Blade Runner 2049 alone. Some of these are my favourite films in recent years. I wouldn't enjoy the film with my stupid friends for whom cheering and shouting is definition of good cinema.
Most relatable 😅. First I was used to go with friends and family, but in 2017 decided to go alone for a movie and it was amazing and doing it for 3 years and enjoying each movie. Hopefully will continue so on like this.
Some of my friends laugh at me when I say I went to the movie alone. I'm like why not 😀. For a while they made me to feel bad on watching a movie alone. What can you do when you have no friends around you to hangout. You should be alone and I understand it's not a sin ☺️
Finally I found my group filled with crazy people in my friend circle they always told me why the hell are you went theatre alone . It's just so damn comfortable to focus your every sense to feel analyse and experience that picture from every direction and to put yourself in that movie as a character to experience.
I been Watching movies alone in the theatres since I was 17 and 16 maybe and it's been one hell of a kind experience and recently this movie released called d u n e but unfortunately my exams came in my way and my mum and dad won't let me go I have 7 days to prepare for my exam and I didn't study anything but I will go for a movie after I'm done with exams
I could totally relate myself to this topic.. It was "Attakaththi" for me back in 2012, when i just decided to go for a Random movie (I decided just 30mins before its showtime, in a theatre that was walkable from my home, without knowing anything about the movie except title :D ) and I remember the movie experience till date.. The movie was good of course, but that was the day I realized benefits of watching a movie alone (after which I had watched some amazing movies and few bad ones as well, alone in theatres) ! I really glad you made this video man :D
I have been watching movies alone since my college days. Like you said, I engross myself in the movie with full focus. However, like you said in Mass commercial movies, I feel bad coming alone as everyone enjoys with their friends. But to be frank, I once went with my friends for Imitation Game movie without subtitles because of which I hardly understood the movie. When I shared this, I get judged for not understanding English without subtitles. 😑 Above all, I could relate this very much when any much awaited movie is open for booking, I should ask people whether they are coming or not. By then tickets will be sold out. But when going alone, we are one second away from booking it. Pure bliss. 😁😉 Raunaq, you always connect with the audience by just being you. Thanks for another cool video as always. 😊
today i went to watch a movie alone (kadaisi vivasayi) , it was different experience, no disturbances ,no stupid partners ,no expectations .You and the theatre screen. I will not say big different wholesome experience but you will enjoy it(trust me! )
My wife and kids laugh at me all the time because I go at least twice a week to the movie theater alone and I love it lol. I look so forward to it. Watching a movie in the dark with no one around me. It truly is my Hobbie lol
I had never gone to a theater ever till the age of 22 ( This year) but when laila majnu was re released and none of my friends cared to join me I went alone 😊
While I don't consider myself a cinephile, in terms of film appreciation, I rank myself in the top 30 percentiles. I go to the movie theatre on average at least once per week, so maybe not surprisingly, the vast majority of my viewings I've went by myself. Going by yourself to the movie theatre has so many benefits: you can fully focus on the presentation without immediate proximity distractions; there's no expectation of giving theatrical reactions to certain scenes; and you can decide to patron a theatre on a snap decision.
I've been going to movies alone many times and I really enjoy just being lost in that world for 2-3h. But the first set of reasons applies to majority of people who just don't respect theatres and cinema.. coming in late with big gang flashing lights in your face yelling seat numbers, talking to the next person, using phones, bringing kids and babies to clearly non-kid friendly movies, shouting comments, the worst of all - eating all kinds of junk, literally through out the movie and making noises by slurping, crunching, etc (ugh you only came to eat, it just happens to be a movie running in front of you, right?).. These stuff really ruins my experience being in theatres 😓🤦🏻♂️ wish I had a professional theatre like setup at home. And there's also friends who don't appreciate anything or just sees cinema as mere "time pass" and not a big deal if the movie is low quality/problematic, or shitty theatres
The first movie I watched alone was pichaikaaran. It felt weird because people were giving me the stares but I enjoyed the whole watching alone experience when I came out of the theater. Ever since then I have enjoyed watching movies alone. I totally relate to every single point you told in this video. :)
I can totally relate with you, I am a telugaite but my husband is gujarati, we both go for various movies but when it comes to regional movies sometimes he wont be interested to watch it in theaters then we had a mutual understanding about it and I dont want to force him to come with me ... So i started watching movies alone and it was really awesome ,i felt so free while watching because I dont need to constantly translate him what's happening I was completely invested in the movie.
YES....!!!!! & the worst is.....when you are LITERALLY the ONLY 1 sitting in the theater watching movie😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 it happened to me 4x.. NO BODY in the theater, but only me😢sitting alone in the theater😢😮
Today itself I've watched Dunes all alone.... This not only give me the raw prospective but also connect me with the actual story line at another level.... Actually I used to watch movie alone for most of the tym.... And to be honest I thoroughly enjoy the movie watching with myself....
No Way Home Got Released.. my friends watched the movie.. and they uploaded story in Instagram .and all. But, At Monday I'm gonna watch this movie for the first time in my lyf..all by myself and all alone🤩.. very very.. excited to go and.. experience..♥️.
Brilliant narration..... Your subscribers will always look up to you... I would badly want a movie to work for everyone if i was the one who initiated the idea. I would be sitting anxiously throughout the movie.
I used to watch films with my friends in a theatre and with my mother at home but it was never an enjoyable experience for me because they used to talk and laugh multiple times while the film was going on. Whereas, i enjoy watching films with full focus and attention to understand the minor details in the film.
Okay to be honest my friends are not like that!! Specially the ones I usually I go to the movies with! They are very excited and punctual! BUT after watching this I'll definitely go to a theatre alone to watch a movie
I had gone to watch movies at the theatres a countless times all alone particularly for watching other language south Indian films. It really helps to taste the essence of the movie.
The best movies I have watched in my life have been movies that I watched alone at the theatre or at my home...they completely changed my movie watching experience all together...and it's a different feel.
I have watched many films alone... But I remember watching super deluxe the second time, a night show..on a weekday because my evening was very bad at the office. I remember why I wanted to watch the whole film and it was for Vijay sethupathi's performance in the subway. I awkwardly created a eerie kind of a bond with that scene which still creates that kind of a disturbance in me till date. I'm just glad to know I'm not alone and there are many weirdos like me out there!!! ❤️
My friend ....you have got toxic friends......there nothing like you mention when we go to theatre...i enjoy it with my friend....but definitely watchin movie alone .... I'll try that
The one and only movie I watched alone in the Theatre is ANJAAM PATHIRA. It was the first day of release and my friends were all busy and I was eagerly waiting for this movie. So I went to Kairali Theatre and bought a solo ticket for myself. And no big crowd was there. I got the seat at the last row , where I and most of people believe the best place to watch a film, (But practically the seats at the middle are the best.) So On that day, I was able to enjoy the movie in a very very different way and the beautiful thing I experienced was the reactions from the crowd and me going in sync. And I was a totally new experience. Waiting for more Solo Theatre trips.
I love seeing movie alone and i started it after asking all my friends i was like i wanna watch it so badly so i am gonna do it no matter what ,and i did it and now i am doing it most of the times
Thalaiwaaaaa, a relatable topic for me, as the theatres opened in my country today and you uploaded this video, vera level uh ya nee. Anyways thank you so much for this.

Quite relatable
Feels very alone having the same condition right now.
I also had gone through the same, initially I felt a bit awkward TBH, but soon I started enjoying the experience!!!
Same scenario
I even don't watch movies in home with anyone else. I love how uninterrupted and awesome it feels to watch a movie alone.
Agreed 100%, No Interruptions is the best part of watching it alone. I toh still put my phone on silent during home watching also. Infact, used to ignore calls of my friends in 2015-16 sitting at home and watching movies.
@@foolnakul 🤛 Exactly bro.
you know you've become mature, when you watch movies alone.
Yes perfect
Watching from 16 yrs old
Now I'm 26
Just came back watching Dune alone
I'm about to do this with Dune 2 tomorrow... so far, I'm the only seat that's been bought 😮
@@aaOutset This is my situation exactly for tmrw lol. The only seat booked, i hope they dont cancel it cause of that. How was your experience?
Movies are last place where company is needed
*to conclude:* you're a introvert, you love being yourself.
*Got it!*
Going for a movie alone have been a therapeutic experience for me. I could able completely immerse myself inside that film's world and when the film ends, I could able to peacefully recollect every single good thing about the film without getting clouded by anyone's opinion.
Yes, Therapeutic is the word I was looking for in the video.!
So true!
I watch almost every movie in my theatre
Under the blanket, all lights closed, no one around me, at a silent nyt, with a giant screen called mobile
I went to the theater by myself n without knowing anything about the movie I brought a ticket for " no country for old men" n loved it.
I am a 63 year old Film Fanatic. I see 200 films a year IN THEATERS. I go alone most of the time and like to sit super close with no distractions. I do not need a person next to me. I always say " Do you need someone with you when you read a book???"
Whenever there is Anime movie coming into PVR, I just go alone to watch movies. Best feeling ever.
I watched oppenheimer alone . What a nice experience . ☺️

Mostly I watch Movies alone in theaters.. Because I don't like to have any kind of distractions while watching it. And I can able to understand and think peacefully about the impact which every single film gave me.
I always love to watching movies alone in theatre, cuz my circle is small only few people they are not always free and they're not always connected to my taste,
This is connectable to my life ❤️and when am going alone in theatre itz gives me some confidence,
I have watched Silence, Once Upon a time in Hollywood, Ford V Ferrari, Parasite, Birdman,The Revenant, The Batman, Dune, War for the planet of the apes, It chapter 1,2 and my favourite Blade Runner 2049 alone.
Hopefully will continue so on like this.
first solo movie you watched alone.
and recently i watched doctor alone and felt in love with the music
Some of my friends laugh at me when I say I went to the movie alone. I'm like why not 😀. For a while they made me to feel bad on watching a movie alone. What can you do when you have no friends around you to hangout. You should be alone and I understand it's not a sin ☺️
Finally I found my group filled with crazy people in my friend circle they always told me why the hell are you went theatre alone . It's just so damn comfortable to focus your every sense to feel analyse and experience that picture from every direction and to put yourself in that movie as a character to experience.
AND - not to forget: you can sit through the whole score and listen to every single last note without being rushed out...^^ F*ck that's just great!
Night show + Good flim +Alone 🖤
Its painful to ask people..just get up n go by yourself yay
I have been watching movies alone since my college days. Like you said, I engross myself in the movie with full focus. However, like you said in Mass commercial movies, I feel bad coming alone as everyone enjoys with their friends.
But to be frank, I once went with my friends for Imitation Game movie without subtitles because of which I hardly understood the movie.
When I shared this, I get judged for not understanding English without subtitles. 😑
Above all, I could relate this very much when any much awaited movie is open for booking, I should ask people whether they are coming or not. By then tickets will be sold out. But when going alone, we are one second away from booking it. Pure bliss. 😁😉
Raunaq, you always connect with the audience by just being you.
In the middle of strangers, I enjoyed my own company & got comfortable with it :)
I absolutely agree with you 👍 ❤ watching movie alone is so much satisfying without any interpretations😊❤
For me watching alone in theatre is delight
So i started watching movies alone and it was really awesome ,i felt so free while watching because I dont need to constantly translate him what's happening
I was completely invested in the movie.
just wacthed venom by myself and i got this notification. relatable af.
Yes, I do it always. I don't mind if someone accompanies me, but I dont want to stop when nobody accompanies me.
YES....!!!!!
& the worst is.....when you are
LITERALLY the ONLY 1 sitting in the theater watching movie😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
it happened to me 4x..
NO BODY in the theater, but only me😢sitting alone in the
theater😢😮
watched nope in 4dx. there was no one else in the theatre .. the best movie experience ever
1:53 people watching the video with earphones .. 🥺😤 Have fun....
yes since last three years. i lost everything and i don’t have anything to call mine
So true...! I did that with concerts and boy I never ever missed out again on anything I wanted to watch
Today itself I've watched Dunes all alone.... This not only give me the raw prospective but also connect me with the actual story line at another level.... Actually I used to watch movie alone for most of the tym.... And to be honest I thoroughly enjoy the movie watching with myself....
Me and theatre.... I need nothing more. Highly relatable video ❤
No Way Home Got Released.. my friends watched the movie.. and they uploaded story in Instagram .and all. But,
At Monday I'm gonna watch this movie for the first time in my lyf..all by myself and all alone🤩.. very very.. excited to go and.. experience..♥️.
You can buy the best ticket
Of course! ❤️☺️From the time I was in college to now when my son is gonna go to college..watching movies alone has been always great!😄
Brilliant narration.....
You are lucky to have friends like that 🥺
Biggest problem of watching movie with my friends for me is that I don't have any friends
Completely relatable💯
I had gone to watch movies at the theatres a countless times all alone particularly for watching other language south Indian films. It really helps to taste the essence of the movie.
Going alone is divine feel ❤️
The only movie I've watched alone in the theatre was Pettai and it was an awesome experience for me to see vintage Rajini Swag all again !!!!
I live alone, cook alone, go cinema hall alone, go restaurant alone everything I do alone.
The best movies I have watched in my life have been movies that I watched alone at the theatre or at my home...they completely changed my movie watching experience all together...and it's a different feel.
totally!
Life changing Video! ❤️ As always Loved it!!
You can't always rely on someone else's schedule. It is perfectly normal to watch a movie by yourself.
Atomic habits is missing.😂
😂🤣😂

I'll try that
The way you putting things was really awesome..
The one and only movie I watched alone in the Theatre is ANJAAM PATHIRA.
It was the first day of release and my friends were all busy and I was eagerly waiting for this movie. So I went to Kairali Theatre and bought a solo ticket for myself. And no big crowd was there.
I got the seat at the last row , where I and most of people believe the best place to watch a film, (But practically the seats at the middle are the best.)
So On that day, I was able to enjoy the movie in a very very different way and the beautiful thing I experienced was the reactions from the crowd and me going in sync. And I was a totally new experience. Waiting for more Solo Theatre trips.
I do it all the time...
I love going to movies alone..😌.. that's super comfortable
I always watch movies in cinema hall all alone
I love seeing movie alone and i started it after asking all my friends i was like i wanna watch it so badly so i am gonna do it no matter what ,and i did it and now i am doing it most of the times
Watched atleast 20 movies alone,I love my own company
Completely Agree to this!!
Thalaiwaaaaa, a relatable topic for me, as the theatres opened in my country today and you uploaded this video, vera level uh ya nee. Anyways thank you so much for this.
