- This was my first time editing a live action music video and I am so pleased with how this edit turned out. I was inspired by last year's AWA PRO live action videos and decided to finally take the plunge and try it out.
Nightcrawler is one of those movies that has continued to stick with me. I love the "protagonist turning into a monster" trope and this movie is definitely a fascinating descent into madness. I really wanted to communicate these aspects in this edit and when I heard the new raw version of "Cutthroat" by Imagine Dragons, I knew I found the right song. I added a bunch of speed ramps and jump cuts to help make this video even more jarring and creepy. I really had fun with the lyric and internal sync too.
Overall, it was a fun challenge to make this and I'm so happy that it won Best Live Action. I'm looking forward to making more videos to live action sources!
