ye its pretty obvious how the booigepop lightnovels inspired monogatari after watching this new version of the show that is an adaptation of the ln, it feels very much like monogatari in its dialogue and how the superpowers are precieved in the show
Boogiepop and others was good but it suffered bad reviews. It was mostly derided by fans that said the animation was slow and simple, and the dialog was stilted, but I feel part of this is because of the paint by numbers approach to the adaptation of the books and the fact that the prior anime, boogiepop phantom, was far grittier and more complex. It also came out during the same season as kaguyasama/promised Neverland/shield hero, meaning non-fans were already watching something else. I loved the series for what it is, though I agree I wish it was darker. I read the books, watched phantom, and the live action all when they came out and others is still a strong entry into the media, and I took still recommend it.
Boogiepop is a great show that didn't need fancy animation for the fights because the main point of the anime and light novel wasn't fighting. It was a pretty straight-forward adaptation of the light novels and while not perfect was still very enjoyable, it's one of my favorite anime along with Boogiepop Phantom.
Boogiepop and others was my introduction to the series as a whole and I absolutely loved it. I don't think anime needs alot of action to be good. I care about the story telling. And this show absolutely killed it in that aspect. It was a bit confusing but it had me hooked. I love the mystery aspect of it and the few sequences of action were just the cherry on top
Great video man, I always wanted to check this series out but never did, you've convinced me to check it out. Bless man.🙌🏿
Boogiepop is underated asf
Both adaptations are pretty good.
The new adaptation had some stellar animation and crazy plots
People should give more attention to the show that inspired Monogatari
