I worked in a hotel and you DO get to keep the lost and found items after one month no matter how awesome the stuff is
Yep. Ex hotel security here. I can't speak for all states, but in mine, we were required to keep lost items for 30 days and then toss them or return them to the person who turned it in if they want them. We would keep them for 3 months and weren't allowed to call the owner to pick them up because of the number of times in the past we called someone's wife who didn't know her husband was staying in a hotel......SO they do have plenty of time to get their items back, but we can't keep everything forever so we get rid of it/give it away. Not stealing.
That doesn’t mean Kendrick isn’t a friend with a security guard or literally anyone else with knowledge of where he was.
Who gets it though, out of all the staff members?
@@frarfarf Usually whoever turned it in, and if they don't want it, security takes it or tosses it. We weren't allowed to donate anything in the event something goes awry and someone tried to sue the hotel. This goes for leftover food as well. I watched that place throw out rolling trash cans full of food at the end of large events. It was such a bummer.

My grandpa worked at a hotel as the janitor for YEARS and he deffo took stuff home from lost and found all the time after it had been there for like 6+ months lmao

Lost and found definitely IS a perk of working at a hotel. You can't hold peoples' abandoned belongings forever, so after at least a month without someone picking it up, the item is either tossed or given to the staff member that turned it in (I can only speak for the hotel I worked at). We'd keep them for 90 days and then toss/distribute them. That job paid $10.50 at the time, so you take the perks where you can get them.
What you guys are missing is the riddler isn’t talking to us. He’s apparently trying to extort Drake. It isn’t meant for us to understand. It’s meant for to jog Drakes memory.

Housekeeper here, and I've definitely got some good stuff from lost and found. Our motel wasnt allowed to keep anything because we didn't have space. So after a few days, I got to take things home that I claimed, even if someone couldn't pick up their stuff because they were in jail.

By law, depending where you are, you have only so much time to get your stuff back, and if you don’t get it back in the aloud time (probably couple months to a year) then yes you can take it. They threw it out at that point. So it is legal. Not stealing at all.
