Thanks for watching everyone. I hope you enjoyed. This was a nice trip. I haven’t used a hammock in awhile. The pasta strainer stove worked excellent. I think I learned about using that from Swedwoods. It’s a great addition. Happy Mother’s Day to all the ladies. Cheers
We have that same mysterious contraption in the kitchen. But I suspect my wife would be frustrated if I used hers as a shovel and stove 😂 p.s I think by now we can make you an honorary Finn
TEAM HATKA!!! Man, I really dig this setup. I get an idea and try to swap out gear to another pack, but go right back to this. The 4L pouches are a good addition. Shock cord is a must. I put on the KEIKKA shoulder harness about a week ago. Really nice upgrade. Cheers Brother 🤝
I saw this guy raise a paster strainer to his mouth, flip it open and back a little... bionic cough! Moccasins are the best. Move through the bush with no sound and like wearing clouds. Easy enough to make too. (Indians definitely aren't dumb.) Ol' MacDonald must be spittin' out his chips! You've beaten him to the 'halfpounder' n' cheese... without the chems! (Gonna have to try that Bannock bread mate. Easier than damper and done in the dixie.) The hammock system rocks. I've been using it for years... I like your system of it, quick, easy and effective... (Hittin' pause and zoomin' in at places.) Awesome! Recently I told some of my Christian friends my church is the ocean and natural surroundings especially where there's water. I love this video man! The sound of the rain, the birds, and that you're wize to interrupt it as little as possible with words. Thank you for the inspiration.💜👍 Universal Sovereign Citizen
Hey Brother! Thanks very much. Really glad you enjoyed it. The strainer and the mocs are both working great. Haven’t had a pair of mocs in 10 years. Used to wear em all the time. Bannock is a great addition to camp. I stay far away from fast food. There are worse things than the chems. Soylent Green. I feel the same way about the woods. Peace in the trees. Thanks for watching Brother. Have a good one 🤝

↟↟Hey Jess🙌🏻 A great overnight out in the wilderness in a thunderstorm⛈️.. It reminds me of my spring wild camping trip through the flooded Forest, when I also had a great time in the hammock)🤔 Thanks for sharing Brother.. Cheers✊🏻🐺🐾
Hey Alex! Thanks Brother. The weather has been quite interesting. Powerful winds. Fast storms. Does your Forest usually flood? I have really been enjoying the hammock again. I haven’t used one in years. I am looking at lightening up the setup and also improving efficiency. Thanks for watching Bro. Cheers 🤝
I love those sweet, simple, over night camps. In the rain, did you have any trouble with rain coming down the ridgeline or hammock straps? Thanks for the great video.
Thanks! It was a good night out. No trouble with water coming in. The lowered tarp pitch helped, plus how close the trees were. I was pretty surprised I didn’t get wet to be honest. It was coming down for awhile.
Enjoyed video very much. Nothing hard to understand. I also have one of the collapsible steamers. Works great for a small campfire and cooking for one.. Keep doing what you do. Thanks Jess!
Thanks Bobby! That steamer is such a great little stove. I am still getting used to it. I have been trying to get it to set half opened to slow the burn for cooking. I can get it sometimes, but it likes to either open up all the way or collapse closed.
Hi Jesse! What a great night out in the woods, thunderstorms during the night are a little more scary in nature than in your secure home. Thank you for taking along and as always all the best from Austria, Bernd 🇦🇹🤠👍🏕🔥

Perfect illustration of why a tarp is better than a tent. Let me see you build a fire inside your tent! 🤣 I like that frying pan, where did you get it?
So true. Even when I bring a tent, I still like to bring a tarp. The pan was a thrift store find for $1! I just took the handle off before I went out for this trip to make it pack easier. I need to drill a hole and add a second ring to make fitting a handle a little easier and more stable.

Thanks very much! No sagging during the night, as I strung it on top of ridgline. During morning I just pushed up and let it run off when I had it flied out. Cheers
Thank you! It is just an old thrift store find that I took the handle off. Think it might have been Faberwear or something. I took the plastic handle off and cut the metal portion down to half length and added the ring. It needs a second ring which help stabilize on a makeshift handle.
Eating it outdoors tends to be the best flavoring one can get! Just salt and maybe some black pepper in the pre-prepared patty ought to rival any high cuisine offerings, especially when you're hungry the way you get after putting in some distance...
Now that was exactly the right thing to cook dinner to. Perfect timing too. Excellent double use for that strainer too, was that for good coals on wet ground or do you have root fire issues out in your area?
Hey! Thanks man. Mostly using it for fire ring for leave no trace. But, yes, root fires are definitely a thing here, especially in the summers. It’s been pouring rain the last few weeks, so not too much of a concern at the moment. Anyways, the strainer worked pretty well. Light, compact, yet opens up to make a nice little fire that’s a bit more “natural” than a box type stove.
Great idea man, I might steal it for some day hiking where the shape won't take too much room or risk coming into contact with my sleeping bag. Looks way easier than my UCO grill which is pretty hefty, even for the smallest mini they offer. My wife walked into the kitchen last night and had to double take on your video, haha immediately said "I'm glad you nerds found each other."
@@Tim_Keys Lol that’s too funny! Awesome. I used some pliers and pulled out the the 3 leg posts and the center ring pole. It makes it more compact, lighter and lets it cool off much faster. The center pole held heat much longer than the rest of the metal.
