LOL I was waiting for someone to comment on his timing on the pause just before the, " Boom!" That was awesome for someone who had no idea what was coming next. I however felt a little cheated! LOL
More Korn? Yes please 🙏. Their song "Blind" from their debut album was probably most people's introduction to them and should be checked out. That was basically the birth of Nu Metal. Yes also to The Deftones, and another badass and interesting band to get into is System of a Down.
Thank you for the reaction homie, korn has been my favorite band since 1994, Jonathan Davis is one of the most talented and influential vocalists of all time. More korn would be very much appreciated. 🤘

Oh, I dunno... Korn has some truly great songs for sure, but they've had some stumbles, too. While I applaud them for experimenting and trying something new, their foray into dubstep was a bit of a miss, imo. They had a bit of a dark period in the mid to late 2000s, but came back strong with Serenity of Suffering.
Been listening to Korn since elementary school (they formed when I was 5). This band (and a few others) are my childhood. They formed my love of music, and helped me through some very traumatic times. Korn was my therapist. Knowing I wasn't alone and someone like Jonathan Davis had experienced similar events helped me process my pain, fear, & rage. I will definitely be here for more. Been lurking and watching for a little while. Slipknot & Korn? You have a new subscriber.
Korn has always been my favorite band and they are the godfathers of numetal i would recommend shoots and ladders. Coming undone. Here to stay. Twisted transistor and falling away from me
I'll never forget when this album came out. I was working night shift at the time and had gotten off work at 7am. A buddy of mine showed up at my house, before noon I think, and woke my ass up and made me hang out with him and listen to this for the first time. Lucky for him, it turned out to be good, or else I might have popped him.

I think the appeal of Korn was all about that sound. Like you say, it's not "heavy" but it's hitting the right notes.. and I've always thought of it as having this sort of "dirty" sound to it, thick chunky bass with really low tuned guitars. I grew up on korn, love them to bits.
You have to do somebody someone !! When I was about 15 korn came out and blew everybody's minds! And they were the first to tune their 7 strings down a whole step and then replicas came out of the woodwork. Fun fact the lead singer now has a pet collar and leash company now called Freak On A Leash.

Reactions to this song still take me back to those days. Living on my own for the first time. Found some people to pal around with. Went to some parties. They’d be playing this album, which had just dropped. Then I’d hear it at more parties. Soon, this song came on over the radio in my then-girlfriend’s car. It was some real new stuff. KoRn have always embraced hip-hop leanings with some funk, and they’ve had guest rappers on their albums. I say fuse it all together and make some cool shit.
Recognized, yes, but Korn are who really put nu metal on the map and defined what we consider it be today. Plus, I love me some Anthrax, but they didn't use downtuned guitars, which is one of the hallmarks of the nu metal sound.
