- Salento is a charming little pueblo in the Quindio region of Colombia...and there is SO MUCH to do there! In today's video we are doing the famous Cocora Valley hike! This hike takes us through cloud forests, jungle, valleys, and the tallest palm trees in the world. We did the full loop, which took us around 7 hours with filming, taking photos, and enjoying the views. Normally it should take you around 5 hours, don't miss it in Colombia!

I’ve been married to my Colombiana for 25 years, and it took this video for me to learn that “Listo Calisto” wasn’t just some weird saying that she made up herself.
After watching this and the horse ride video, we’re adding Salento to our next trip there in a few months.

Buen video el eje cafetero es hermoso, el valle del cocora fue declarado patrimonio de la humanidad en el 2011, allí habitan gran cantidad de fauna y flora, en las copas de las palmas de cera habita el loro 🦜 orejiamarillo, aveces aparece el cóndor de los Andes también es una de las entradas al parque nacional de los nevados
I usually take my waterproof hiking boots and walking poles when we go there. Thats something you did that trail in rubber boots! The trails are very slippery and those bridges are scary!
I usually crouch down when walking on them so as not to be top heavy. 🤣 The hummingbird cabin is nice to see.

I loved your video. I am from Armenia. On Sundays I travel on my fatbike to Salento. There is a place 5 hours from Salento along the national road. The wax palm sanctuary. Cocora is more touristy. But the sanctuary has more than one million 690 thousand wax palms, it is at the top of the mountain range. Limits between Quindio and Tolima... Quindio has more beautiful places... I hope you come back again.!

Hi guys, I’m planning a trip to Colombia this December and been watching your vlogs. Just wondering if we should spend more time in Jardin or Salento? Also we’ll be travelling around Xmas time and worried about transport during the holidays.
You're gonna have an awesome time in Colombia. We are excited for you! That's a tough question, we loved both places! Just make sure you have a couple full days in both. Not sure about the transportation during the holiday but I doubt you will have any issues.

They let the palm trees stand because they weren't shading the vegetation below them, which was economically significant for agriculture...most likely for grazing in these uplands.
