  • Here is the steepest national road in Japan. Compared to the other reactions I saw on TH-cam I was underwhelmed but at some points I couldn't believe how steep it actually was.

I rode up to Mt Fuji on a rented BMW 800F from my hotel in Shinjuku Tokyo. Absolutely loved it. I rode as a motor officer in Southern California, which is way more dangerous; but Japan was a great challenge not knowing any Japanese written or spoken. The food and people are great too.

That was crazy steep. I was almost expecting one of you to drop a bike. There's one stretch about that steep coming down from Mt. Tsukuba, and it has those tire marks too.

Imagine how fun this road would be on something like a TW200, something ready for steep angles and that cobblestone section.

What are the circles in the concrete for? Are they supposed to aid traction?

Someone may have told you this already but you may be putting too much weight on the handle bar which strains your wrists. They say on sport bike you have to sit further back, squeeze the tank with your knees and lean over, keeping your hands and arms nice & loose.

I have seen that road in Japanese moto-vloggers videos too and I want to ride it so bad! That road and Eshima Oohashi (江島大橋) . The craziest bridge in Japan.

Ha! I would've been the same with that bumpy road. The road didn't seem that much. I guess you have to be there to actually see how steep it is. Speaking of steep, I when I get to Japan and get a motorcycle, I want to try out the Eshima Ohashi bridge.

    • @KansaiRiderJapan
      @KansaiRiderJapan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

biohaken is that the steep bridge? If so it's not that steep it's just an optical illusion.

Malvina Carabas unless I go off-road I don't wear knee pads
I'd like to buy a pair of riding pants but I haven't got around to it yet.

well , when we are riding motorcycle , imho, we are always " off road " so to speak . Actually , i think riding in a busy city or on busy Hwys even more dangerous .you never know when you`ll go down .
in 2007 i walked ,no bike , slipped and fell down on a small patch of black ice. fell down with all my weight on a single point - my right patella/knee cup . Shuttered patella in many pieces . Medical bills came US $ 23.000 . Some $7000 - surgery , the rest - post surgery treatment and the therapy .
Now , i don`t ever ride without knee and elbow guards. i got two riding pants ,rather good ones . From all of them i removed knee pads , i find them next to useless , b/c they are small and moving around . Instead i always wear Leatt dual axes Knee guards underneath the pants .
You may want to check them out .
      www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/leatt-dual-axis-knee-guards
btw, they are on sale now at Revzilla . Work fantastically . They are very light and much more comfortable than one would expect . Sometimes ,when i have to wear regular pants on a bike , i just slap the Leatt guards on the top of the pants or underneath ,very easy and do feel secure enough .
Just the suggestion you may want to consider . Ride safe . Your videos are very nice .
      .
