    I get that mentality 100% - They are out having a good time, they don't want to worry about what might get caught on camera.

      Haruki Kodama there’s a mod I can do to eliminate the popping but it love it to much. It feels absolutely thunderous irl.

    I’m late to the party, but I have to say that I enjoy this. New rider in Murica wanting to know more about Japan. Where did you learn Japanese?

    Rather interesting topic to talk about Kansai. We don't get to hear about it too often and it explains the amount of pixelated media coming from this part of the world. Do you plan on releasing some more vlogs with similar topic, that is just not mentioned so often?

      Štefan Ternei I don’t want to only talk about japan but I think this will be an irregular series.

    Quirks and features? Daddy Doug much? Cool video, very nice to hear the bike at more than 3000 revs for once lol

      PJ and the Craxfords this is too true. Miu rarely stretches her legs on camera.

    I really liked the relaxed nature of this video - though I wish you covered more "quirks and features" of Japanese People instead of just privacy.

      Ian James LeFave I figured I’d make a video like this every once in a while. The beginning of a series maybe.

    I could probably write a long blurb about this but I’m not. I apply common sense when filming. If you get on my camera on a public road, tough cookies. I won’t purposely show my face or others if explicitly requested. Fun note.. I remember your really early videos when you were overly cautious about showing your speed. :) Good to see the onroad stuff again, thanks!!

    the speed limit is 50kmh? anyway that drone shoot at the end is cool...

    • @rainbowrambo7093
      @rainbowrambo7093 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is generally expected that most vehicles will break this speed limit, however the limit is set at 50 for accountability. If the limit was set at 70 or 80 and a truck or other heavy vehicle would crash because of the higher limit, this would put the accountability with the local government and not the driver. They set a local limit to make crashes the resonsibility of the driver

    Always thought it was pretty much universally accepted that you have no expectation of privacy in public, although most people don't know this and think they have the right to ask not to be filmed

    Hey , like your videos because i like japan and bikes , keep on riding :) . Hope you dont get in trouble because of filming with police/privacyissues. Here in Germany some bikers do crazy stuff and film it and they are catched by police. Are in japan often speedlimits with 50kmh? Isnt this hard on a cbr 1000? Even on my sv1000 my backpain would kill me because forward lean angle if i have to do 50 all the time and i think its more upright than yours ^^ in germany we have 50 just in town and on roadworks .

    MAAAAAAN! It's been a long time! How's it going everybody?! I finally had some time to do a massive marathon of Kansai Rider videos. Took me a couple of days but I finally caught up!
    So far I haven't encountered anything with that right now when it comes to my Japanese coworkers. However the students at my company, it's a different story. They REALLY want to make sure that you don't have pictures of you and the student. And if there is a photo of the student, it's only on the company website.

    • @KansaiRiderJapan
      @KansaiRiderJapan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      biohaken heard of people getting fired for having student’s pics on their Facebook.

    Here in Germany, it's pretty similar to Japan, at least for middle-aged people and up.
    I too don't like it to be filmed and posted on the internet, because if someone meets me on the street and looks at me it's a mutual thing, furthermore, depending on who uploads the video a whole shitstorm can start. (maybe I'm just too self-conscious (which doesn't help my shyness))
    As for legal reasons, in Germany, you aren't allowed to take pictures/videos of people without their consent, if there are up to seven people visible (i think), or people stand out/are in focus.
    (from now on I'm unsure law-wise)
    Technically it's illegal to film outside of your private property, so even surveillance cameras may not work in court, if they show the road, or even the face of the culprit, if he is off your property.
    Because of that GoPro footage shouldn't hold value in court, but recently a German motovlogger got caught riding without a license and the police confiscated all of his raw footage and I heard they started tracking other riders though license plates.
    Anyway, I just don't like the possibility of someone to do whatever he wants with a picture/video of me, without me having a chance to (properly) do something.
    The internet never forgets,

      Blackglurak I’m not opposite haha I often wonder when I see a family taking picture how many photo albums I’ve ended up in.
      Interesting info about Germany, Thanks.

      I think the surveillance camera thing is an issue when you can see patterns of people's everday life, for example somebody passing by with his car every morning at 8 o'clock or smth like that, if I remember correctly. I also was under the impression it is legal to film anybody as long as it is coincidental and you don't follow them around or smth like that... I think we have some lawyers who are on youtube adressing the motovlogging issue.

    Can you do a video about how impatient Japanese people can be sometimes? There's evidence of it in this video. I can't remember all the frustrating and annoying situations I've been in here or witnessed other people in, that could've been avoided if one person would've just been willing to wait a few seconds.

      @lucywucyyy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i commented too soon, that does seem kinda overcautious to be that worried about things that are public knowledge anyway, i think maybe its related to japan being a bit behind in the internet age so maybe the next generation will be more relaxed about it like westerners

  • @Demodisk

    Dude I've noticed the face thing. I follow a decent amount of folks that live over there, and vice versa, and they take a crap ton of selfies and their faces are always blurred. Like why even take the time to upload it? I didn't used to post my license plate, but I realized that unless there's a warrant out for me, I'm fine. There's no information 99% of the populace can get from my plate number. Just law enforcement, and I don't do stuff THAT stupid to draw their attention...

    • @KansaiRiderJapan

      Demodisk I completely agree. People act like their plate is the same as their social security number or something.

    yeah I also found it odd that very talented music cover Japanese youtubers cover their face and are dead channels, guess it has to do entering the work force, never got a good answer from any university student, or maybe a few drinks had an effect lol

    Just to chime in on filming, your right to film is protected under article 21 of the Constitution as freedom of expression, but at the same time people have the right not to be filmed without good reason and that is based on article 13. But it's the "good reason" that the courts have rules in over the years. You have an established channel and your filming on public roads for the most part so I would think your right to film would fall under your right of expression as an artist.
    But who wants to go to court over something like that? I think your taking the reasonable path on the issue.

    • @KansaiRiderJapan
      @KansaiRiderJapan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will Ruck I didn’t know I was offered any protections legally. Honestly though I’d just delete this channel before I let it take me into a court room, it’s not worth it at all to me.

    That's why I'm not really a fan of Japan anymore. They have such a 2 faced mentality. The face you see and talk to is not the face that walks away. Just remember the quote from "The Last Samurai" from the English translator guy. "I had a rather unfortunate tendency to tell the truth in a country where no one ever says what they mean. So now, I very accurately translate other peoples lies"

    That’s the problem with what’s wrong with America here no respect for anyone’s privacy, if someone Doesn’t want something done then they just don’t want it and we have to respect that. It’s bad enough we r getting watched by the government constantly and to have someone just record u at a whim like hey smile for my camera
