    Thanks for this review. You of the few that has tested this ammo in a short barrel revolver. After seeing this I choose to carry this ammo for EDC in my snub nose.

    You should see how these perform through a Ruger GP100 6" barrel.

    That’s really moving from a 2” barrel! I’m impressed.

    Don’t know about 6 yrs ago. Currently the 125 gr 357 magnum from underwood is pushing the Hornady XTP bullet. Just bought a couple of boxes and can’t wait to see how they do outta my sp101 2.25”. High velocity hopes.

    These were the first .357 rounds I ever shot. SP101 4 in. Good stuff. Thanks for the vid.

    Thanks for this video. I've used the Underwood .40 135gr. in my carry gun. But I also have a Ruger GP100 I sometimes open carry on the job and your vid has me wanting to put this load in it! Keep up the good work.

    Imagine a underwood loading with the Remington scalloped semi jacketed hollow point would look like in the gel.

    Watching through all your videos and I find them really interesting ... I like seeing the 125 38 p Underwood bonded and 124 p++ 9mm underwood bonded and 357 mag underwood bonded ...
    Its cool because its really right in line with expectation 38 being good .. 9 being great and 357 being wow ...
    I really think any of the three would do the job with a well placed round or two .. Thanks for this comparison

      Aubrey Mccullough thanks! I am hoping to do a side by side comparison of the major rounds in a back up role.

    I got 4 boxes of this ammo yesterday, and fired it from my S&W 686+. The flash was really impressive, but the recoil wasn’t bad. 👍👍👍👍

    I was using the Underwood 125gr .38 +Ps in my Ruger .357mag LCR and just switched to the 158gr +Ps in part because of the recoil of the former. I would NOT want to shoot the magnum rounds out of my LCR.

      I fired a few of these (full house loads) from my LCR, and it wasn't pleasant to shoot. But definitely less pleasant for the bad guy on the receiving end. It's like a concussion grenade going off with all the flash. They would certainly run away no doubt (if capable). lol!

    Is your EAA still functioning fine after these hot loads? I read online that the metal of the EAA's aren't up to par as say a Ruger or Smith.

    • @learndefenseindustriesllc7878
      @learndefenseindustriesllc7878  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not had any problems with the metal other then finishing work. They do not spend the time or money to polish out all of the issues so you end up with a.gun that only cost $200 compared to the S&W k frame which is the exact same gun but much more refined. I had to do some gun smithing to it when I bought it but she has been fine since. I don't carry my EAA Windicator any more as I bought a M&P 340

      @@learndefenseindustriesllc7878 would you trust your windicator with a steady diet of hot 357 Magnum loads?

    • @learndefenseindustriesllc7878
      @learndefenseindustriesllc7878  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrN1251 yes for plinking until you can see its true reliability. I personally haven't put enough rounds through it to say otherwise. I think of all the budget .357 mag revolves it's the best. But if you can afford the S&W go that route. If not it's a decent gun especially for the price.

    Is the 1419avg velocity from the snubbie?

      Yes that's from my EAA Windicator with a 2 in barrel

      @@learndefenseindustriesllc7878 wow those number are beautiful 500+ ft lbs of energy. How was the felt recoil?

    • @learndefenseindustriesllc7878
      @learndefenseindustriesllc7878  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The EAA Windicator is a rather heavy snubby. The recoil is noticeable heavier then when shooting 38 special. In the video I comment on that. If your shooting say a 340 PD this will be very uncomfortable.

    Will the Taurus Tracker .357 handle this alright?

  • @shikat2371

    Out of a 3" barrel S&W .357 Model 60 that I own, I'm sure the avg. velocity would be somewhere around 1500 fps. It is really impressive that any 2" or even a 1.87" barrel .357 magnum revolver can be significantly more powerful than ANY 9mm semi-auto when using those Underwood .357 rounds.

    • @chapllc722
      @chapllc722 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still prefer my 18+1 underwood 9mm +p's most of the time, but for especially low threat environments like working around the yard, carrying 6 of these in a compact 3" revolver is plenty for me.
