    Bravo! Saw them Saturday night in Chattanooga and it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. The musicianship of the entire band is superlative. The vocal harmonies of Alison and Robert are otherworldly.

    It is truly humbling to see the effort and attention that these master musicians put into every aspect of their craft. From their instruments to their effects, amps and even cables they are chasing excellence and inspiration every step of the way. Of course their playing is both impeccable, but at the same time sometimes risky and even experimental. The results speak for themselves.
    The Plant/Krauss collaboration, including the outstanding musicians supporting it, is one of the high points of the modern era.

    They never discussed (maybe they don’t know) the secret of the Galanti Grand Prix guitars.
    They have a pickup signal reducer (when they were made it was marketed as a jazz guitar so the output was too hot on the pickups) that must be bypassed to unlock the True Tone of the guitar. It screams and has a growl like no other guitar. I bypassed on my guitar and have shown everyone else who has one and all swear by the mod.

    Stuart has been my favorite ever since I required him to play Lee Highway blues for me multiple times in a fiddle lesson. Id like to think he put it on his first album because of that 14 yr old panhandle Texas kid. I still have the cassette recording of it. My treasure!

    That squier Tele sounds completely amazing through that amp. Would love to know more about what pickups are in it!

  • @vinivola
    @vinivola ปีที่แล้ว +2

    No Load tone pots on 10(tone knob all the way up) gives you the "pure"tone/sound of the pickups and still have the option to use the tone knob instead of bypassing it.

    • @tonyevans9999
      @tonyevans9999 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, on paper absolutely. I tried this on a esquire partso I built a few years ago just for laughs and could hear the smallest treble smoothing (I use LOTS of treble, all the treble) off the top end with everything on 10 compared to the no tone selected. Definitely less loss than a loaded pot

    Love how the focus is on getting the tones and not branding and gear. Get so sick and tired of seeing the same shyt every week. “Oh here’s my pedalboard of strymon pedals, boutique version of a fender amp and a tele” or “here’s my axe effects with my custom 5150 patch and a random two humbucker guitar”. These guys are great. Especially Stuart, “hey I found a squier with a nice neck pickup and hey who gives a shit it’s a squier so I’ll hack it up so itll do what I want.” He’s playing with Robert Plant and takes out a butchered squier and some garage sale acoustic instruments 😂
