- For this reaction, we listen to Animals by Pink Floyd and we're convinced this band can't drop a bad album. An amazing album with sounds we've never heard before that are so ambitious and spectacular. A really great album and.... yeah I don't even know what to say..

This album ain’t crazy it’s an all time classic. What you need to do for the rest of your life is every couple of years listen to it. Over the years you will realise how different it sounds to you.

The album is loosely based on Animal Farm but twequed slightly to represent 3 levels of society in 70s/80s Britain.
This album was part of an incredible run of 5 or 6 elite level , time capsule albums that Pink Floyd produced back to back.

I remember when I first listened to dogs, I was gonna listen to it in the background while I studied. 5 minutes in I just laid down and listened to it 6 straight times. Lol

I had the privilege of seeing "The Animals Tour" live in 1977 at Milwaukee County Stadium when I was 17 years old. We were around 3rd base and there was a giant pig balloon floating above the stage and it exploded with such force that we could feel the concussion and heat way back on 3rd base! Has to have several sticks of TNT in it!

I've been a Floydian for 50+ yrs and they were life changing for me in the best of ways. When I saw your reaction pop up in my recommended I was skeptical to say the least, but it's Pink Floyd so I had to give you a shot. Gotta say you actually left me smiling 😊 Thanks guys

Echoes live Pompeii, 1971 and anything from the greatest live concert ever, Pulse.
The album concept is inspired by the novel “animal farm” that talks about animals rebel against the farm owner, kicked him out of the farm and took over the farm, and it’s a symbol of how revolutions happen in societies. In the context of the album, pigs represent the politicians, dogs represent the army, the police or anyone who represents the authority and learned to only obey the law, and sheep represent average people. Once you read the lyrics with that in mind it will all make sense
Animal Farm is commentary on how power corrupts. I've always seen Dogs as being about the rat race. Capitalism run amok as the video guys picked up on. And yup, I've always seen Sheep as being about all the sheeple.

they dont make mere records,,,they make concept albums, up until dark side in 73 the record label was constantly on their asses to make singles,,,"you gotta have a hit single" after dark side went huge, the could do whatever they wanted

You would of had to go to a Pink Floyd concert. I went to animals concert in the 70s in Chicago and it was the best concert I've ever seen.
That's so cool. If I was able to go back in time, I would most definitely go to one of their shows.
@@TheIngobernable Yes! They had speakers everywhere and sounded like Dogs were barking everywhere. There were giant Pigs flying around all lasers and the encore song was Money and it looked like there was money and coins falling all over us. It was all laser, but it was so wild. I've never seen anything like it in my life. It looks like real pigs and real money.
People still discovering Floyd. Very cool. Nobody does it like Floyd. You need to give Echoes off the Meddle album a listen. Trust me. Just make sure you're head is in a good place when you do. And by good I mean a high place. :) Even better, drop a Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds first. The first time I listend to Echoes that's where I was and holy crap man. Just f'ing wow.
