I was trying to find a video of how India as a nation stands for SDGs on global level and I couldn't have found a better coverage on the subject. Some of the facts covered were really surprising and made me proud as a fellow Indian citizen that my country is taking such strong initiatives to tackle and contribute to the global challenges and targets set by SDGs. Kudos to Rajya Sabha tv's indepth coverage on the subject. We need to get aware because sustainability is the future otherwise there is none. I also like how the intergenerational equity, a point also covered in above video, is at the core of these 17 goals. There is no cherry picking out of 17, all goals and targets are interconnected and interwoven in such an intricate manner that you can even take up one subtarget and try to find its major implications on other goals and subtargets. For instance agricuture and gender equality. How are they related? In developing nations more and more women than men are taking up agricultural and hence in order to strengthen gender equality a more equality based agricultural approach and policies empowering women has to be implemented in those countries to achieve agricultural as well as gender equality targets simultaneously under SDGs. Assam has rich ecological resources among many states in India.... I had worked in Guwahati for nearly a year. And I love the people and the place. It goes for the entire north eastern region of India. You people are hardworking and open hearted, something which is not the case for most Indian states. The govt is focussing on NE, indicators are not far behind. Keep hope and a strong heart. Jai Hind!

I don't think there is a competition between the states. Until there is an incentive (a reason to compete) to the states other than just giving the numbers (1st, 2nd n 3rd), they don't take the care about the ranking.
