    I have tried to no avail to get my doctorS to prescribe me HRT. They all avoided the subject like I said Voldemort. I have had to be my own doctor, found micronized USP progesterone and estradiol lotions over the counter. I also found an online virtual company which finally prescribed me the estradiol patch and oral progesterone. I still struggle with dosage but am definitely feeling better.

    I needed this!! Thank you. I’m trying to help women of color with symptoms, side effects, resources and to not be overwhelmed by the “pause” because it is not discussed in our community. It’s like “tough it out”, “your grandma didn’t take any hormones “. It has to stop. I would love to share my experience. Thank you ladies ❤

      Every female community has been treated this way. Just take a look at the trans community now. A man can go for “gender affirming care” and suddenly estrogen is available and plentiful.

    Found a practitioner on the NAMS website and had my appt today. She was great and listened and I left with a prescription. I'm 57 and have the Mirena IUD, so only doing the estradiol patch. I'm lucky I guess, as my symptoms are minor, but they are there. Starting at .025 and we will see how it goes over the next 3 months. I would like to be on min of .050 for the health benefits eventually. Great discussion. Thanks for all you do.

    I had a pulmonary embolism at 42 caused by birth control pills. I was told I could never take hormones due to the risk of clots. Now I am hearing there is not an increased risk of clots with non oral HRT. 20 years later and maybe I can take HRT.😮

    Do I have to stop my HRT? My new "menopause" trained gyno told me, the goal is to take the smallest amount for the least amount of time and i was like WTH....I finally feel great.

    @user-cu3xn4xj3i 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Absolutely Dr. Haver! @around 10:00. I've talked with some women, and one said she didn't go through menopause....I said what???? Yes you did, but maybe your symptoms were mild, but you definitely went through menopause. This same woman has lupus, hip issues, knee problems, so I'm not sure but those might be her menopause symptoms. Other women said "oh it can't be that bad for you" Ha! I have all symptoms, except a few, including a heart attack.

    • @myalloy
      @myalloy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I have always been a thin person. I never was able to have a baby. And I was only on birth control for five years before we decided to try to have kids. I ended up stopping my period around 43. They always would check my hormone levels and they were fine until I turned 50. I could not afford bio identical, so I stopped it. Now that I’m 58, I have osteoporosis, brain fog, a larger belly, sleepless nights, thinning hair. Am I too old to start on HRT? I never had heat flashes. I just don’t want to get worse what do I do

    I have been taking continuous birth control for years to help control migraines. When I had my blood work done last year it showed I no estrogen no progesterone or testosterone. They started me on HRT compounded cream with all 3 hormones. They also had me stay on the continuous birth control to keep my migraines at bay. How long is it safe to do both? I am now 52

    Why do you say women AND people with ovaries.. why the separate distinction between the two?

    • @iss8504
      @iss8504 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Because you can have ovaries and not identify as a woman aka trans man.

    • @user-cu3xn4xj3i
      @user-cu3xn4xj3i 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Still a woman only. God made man first, then woman. No such thing as identifying as a different gender. He's on his way back. Also, Romans 1 and Romans 1:32 especially. @@iss8504

    • @user-cu3xn4xj3i
      @user-cu3xn4xj3i 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They want to separate because they follow the father of lies. Also, it's weird how they demand help for women but want to advocate for sin at the same time. Woman is a woman. No one can have both.

      Hi! Painful joints are tied to menopause and are a very common complaint! We'd recommend letting your prescribing doctor know, you might just need to adjust your dose. That's why we offer free & unlimited doctor follow-up messaging, so it's super easy to make any changes!

    • @lindajones4849
      @lindajones4849 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An acquaintance of mine in her mid fifties was told by her doc that she could just stop her birth control pills. The result was instant pain in multiple joints that took weeks to resolve . Obviously the estrogen in birth control pills was masking menopause symptoms. I'm not a doctor so I don't want to comment specifically about hormones but talking to your doc seems reasonable. Some other possibilities are anti inflammatory diet, Omega 3 fish oil capsules ( or increase eating cold water fish). Life Extension foundation has herbal formulations for joint pain such as Life Extension. Hope that helps, joint pain sucks.

      I am your age too and had to go off of HRT. It made me feel like PMS from when I used to get my periods. I stayed on for 3 months, but could not take the side effects anymore. Boobs hurt super bad also and breakthrough spotting. Good thing is since I have been off my hot flashes never came back so at least being on it that short time did end the hot flashes.
