Clip from episode 20 of the Soul Eater anime English dub (mirrored). As a last ditch effort to beat Crona, Maka and Soul surrender themselves to madness! Apparently, insanity makes your clothes all swishy and woosh like. Awesome.

For some reason, I really like that tiny segment at 0:03 where it shows Chrona surprised. I don't know why, but it's neat how they put that in.

Maka’s English voice was played by Laura Bailey, my favorite voice actress of all time. She’s played so many great voice rolls in animes, including Black Butler, Gunslinger Girl, Naruto, Ouran High school Host Club, Vampire Knight, Hellsing Ultimate, Case closed. She was Lust from Full Metal Alchemist, Toru Handa from Fruits Basket. And the list goes on…So, anyone who ever says that Maka’s English voice was bad, bitch, you trippin’.
She's also the grunts and such from the female Courier, in Fallout: New Vegas, the doctor from the surgical building(I don't remember her name), Julie Farkas, and a few other voices in that game. I'm always like "IT'S MAKA!!!".
the psycho smiles are the funniest thing in soul eater.
I think what makes Maka's turn to madness so particularly captivating is the stark contrast with her usual personality. When Stein succumbed it was heartbreaking, of course, but we can't honestly say we were THAT surprised. He was already kinda off-putting and clearly had some personal demons he was hiding. But Maka was always so much more in control. A good student, very orderly, compassionate, practically trying to be the "mom" of her friend group. So to see her completely lose it and turn into this infantile sadistic monster is truly terrifying on its own, aside from how well the show sells it. You even feel bad for Crona, even though they just got done trying to behead her with an equally unhinged smile on their face.

for the record, Crona is androgenous. They simply use the term "he" to make things easier, rather than having to say "Crona was there. Crona did that. And the Crona did this. Did you see Crona?" and so on.
