While there’s no truth to the rumor that “CBS” ever stood for The Carol Burnett Show, for eleven seasons and 278 episodes, this star-studded extravaganza of sketch comedy, song and dance became entertainment central for the network and TV viewers. Burnett operated in a relaxed theater setting that allowed her to take questions, cut loose with her famous Tarzan yell and join fellow performers Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner to have a laugh or sing a song. The show received 25 Emmy Awards and eight Golden Globes, making it one of the most honored shows in television history.

We need to laugh these days to stay sane. There are way too many pressures . I guess there are those who know how to stay calm and not get so worried but I am not one of them. Watching a show like Carol's really helps. And music....like from the 60s and 70s. Yep I am old....😜

This was my all time favorite skit. I used to watch it with my late grandma and laughed so hard.
My father watched this show every Saturday night when I was younger

Comics today think they have to use fowl language to be funny. The sketches from The Carol Burnett Show are examples of comedy at its best. Hilarious, clean humor. I wish they would re-telecast these episodes. I am thankful for TH-cam.

I remember watching these back in the 70's when I was a kid. Tim Conway was hilarious as this character! The Carol Burnett Show was easily the funniest show to EVER GRACE THE 📺📺TELEVISION📺📺SET. 🤣😂😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😆🤣😂
Carol Burnett was not only hilarious but she aligned herself with some absolutely incredibly talented people. Comics, singers, dancers, men, women, of all ages, races, and talents. They could all improvise any scene, any situation, or any take. They were ALL extremely brilliant and unbelievably talented as I said above. This show was beyond comedy, or sitcoms, or any entertainment for that matter. It was performed 🎭 perfectly! Everything was always chaotic but always funny and hilarious stories and skits. PERFECTION! That's the name for this show, Perfection!
In a time when things didn't offend us as much as they seem to do today.
It offended the same type of people then, they just didn't have the internet to make them think the majority of people agreed with them. Political correctness is ruining almost every form of media.
Things offended people then and now. It's just that now, thankfully, a greater collection of voices can be heard.

Not much to laugh about these days. This is great!!!! I really believe this show should be a prescription for depression . Sounds silly to some but it beats the heck out of alcohol or pills....or over charging on a credit card......
