I love your cookbook so much! I got my brother his own for Christmas so he can include me in the holiday meals. He’s a chef and not vegan. Should be interesting. He seemed excited! 💚
Thanks so much for saying that Lynn. TBH, I'm struggling with the lighting in my new home (well, "new" is a relative term, I guess). California sun is very powerful compared to our mellow Chicago sun and I'm trying to figure out a way to soften the contrast. I'll keep experimenting until I get it just right!
Yay! ❤ I love Ddeokguk. I made some on New Year too! It was vegetarian (I added egg, and used a bit of dashi stock) and i sliced up some soy bulgogi meat to put on top. Yourrs looks so yummy! I want to try it the vegan way too 😮
You can use electrolysed water (HOCl) to clean your veggies if you keep the peel on. It is a natural desinfectant that's perfectly safe to ingest. Scrub your veggies well, and them wash them with HOCl to disinfect them and voilà. Possible infections avoided.
I am highly enjoying your cookbook. I made a Korean feast for Thanksgiving this year. Inspired by you, followed some of your recipes and did some of my improv. It was SO good. I look forward to trying this soup! I had no idea what to do with rice cakes like these! Happy New Year!
Thank you and happy new year to you too!! You can find my cookbook The Korean Vegan at all major book retailers! Not sure what your preference is but Amazon usually has it for the cheapest price!
Hi!!! I just subscribed to your beautiful channel. I recently bought some dried rice cakes out of sheer curiosity. And I love all things Asian. Do I need to soak them? That broth looks glorious. 🤗 I am going to make that soup❤❤❤
Hi! No need to soak. I would just marinate them in the oil as I discuss in the video. You can find this and all my recipes on my blog thekoreanvegan.com. Thanks so much for subscribing!!! Can’t wait for you to try!

@@TheKoreanVegan Perhaps you will find a new lighting design; however if not, that is okay too.
But yes, I enjoyed the Chicago lighting as well.

Happy new Year!!!
Yummy! Could you pour the Just Egg into the broth like you would a raw egg into egg drop soup?
I tried that before and the JE just dissolved into nothingness. :(
@@TheKoreanVegan Oh that's not good. Thank you for sharing your experience 🙏
Привет!
Happy 2025 🥳
Happy New Year Andrea!
