সুন্দর, অসম্ভব সুন্দর । মনে হয় হাজারবার দেখেছি তবুও আবার যখন দেখি সৌন্দরযের গভীরতায় বার বার চোখে পানি আসে । ভাবের অতল গভীরতা, সুরের অনবদ্যতা, হৃদয় ছোঁয়া অপূর্ব নৃত্য আর মন মাতানো অভিব্যাক্তি সত্যি পাগল করে দেয় । শিল্পী আর সকল কুশিলবকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ ।

Predating Ambedkar’s Nava Buddhism... Tagore uses Buddha’s message of anti-casteism... the Dalit girl Prakriti falls in love with the Buddhist monk Ananda...and urges her mother Maya to use her Tantric powers to make him desire her...the play is infinitely nuanced and complex... Tagore is also offering a critique of the Tantric practices that had seeped within Buddhism and eventually led to its disappearance from mainland India... Tagore seems to advocate a “purer” Theravada mode, one that is far closer to Siddhartha Gautama’s original vision... and this predates Ambedkar and the Dalit Buddhist movement... so so powerful!

গান নাচের মাধ্যমে একটা বিষয় এমন সুন্দর করে ফুটিয়ে তোলা কোন কবি সাহিত্যিকে পক্ষে অসম্ভব। কবিগুরু তোমার চরণে কোটি কোটি প্রনাম।
It’s incomparable. The voice of the singers and singing style of course wonderful. Although some of the modern singers are also very nice too. Still I enjoy old ones too.

I am a Buddhist who has been living in the US for long time, away from Bengali culture for many years, came across this dance drama, I can’t stop my tears dripping through my cheeks. I remember my grandma spent all her life in the temple meditation center meditating, and how Rabi Thakur manifested Buddha’s magnanimity in this dance drama, like I said I can’t stop crying and every time I watch this I get goose bump.
