Regarding signature scents-Dior Homme 2020 has been my signature this past semester. The way I would define a signature scent is as a fragrance that one never regrets wearing. Sure, there are other options, but you can’t go wrong with your signature scent.

Signature scents when you have multiple bottles of fragrance in my opinion is one to three fragrances that you spray on when you are conflicted on what you want to wear, or just simply enjoy the scent and wear it a lot. Usually they are good for all 4 seasons, but I think it really just comes down to what you as the wearer enjoy best. Thanks again for both the amazing content and giveaway Justin! Hope you have a great holiday season!

I've had signature scents come and go. I find that I get tired of scents a little too quickly, and if I wear any one fragrance too much, I hit a point where I don't want to come back to it later. Previous casualties include Robert Graham Fortitude, City Rhythm Miami, Dylan Blue, and Spicebomb EDT

    • @phantomspaceman

I have gone through so many phases with Dylan Blue. I just save that one for the heat now because of how well the citruses in it pop.

Having a signature scent is like owning a personal story in a bottle. It's an intimate expression that weaves into your identity, evoking memories, emotions, and leaving a lingering imprint on those around you. There's a unique comfort in knowing that a particular fragrance is solely yours, crafting an aura that reflects your essence. It's more than just a smell; it's a part of your narrative, entwined with moments, emotions, and the fabric of who you are.

As for my knowledge signature scent is a perfume you wear every day. It has the potential to become such an integral part of your day to day life that leaving the house without it feels akin to heading out with your wallet & car keys.
This is a article I red recently by Jo Fairley, co-founder of The Perfume Society and Editor of fragrance magazine The Scented Letter.
“The first is a signature scent, which is what people recognise you by - they can walk into a room and know you’ve been there. People remember you by these fragrances, and when they smell them they think of you. It also means people aren’t going to screw up your Christmas present because they’re going to buy you something they know you love.”
An additional benefit of having a signature scent is not having to put too much thought into your daily fragrance, as you’ll always have it to hand.
I don't have any creed fragrances in my collection. Yesterday I checked out and 'Himalaya' is stunning and wish I become the winner so I can use it as my signature scent. I'm available in 'Fragrantica'.

Hey Justin! First of all, thank you for doing a giveaway! I think it’s awesome how giveaways give everyone something to look forward to especially in such strange times we’re living in unfortunately. Now as for me , I’ve never really cared for signature scents. I personally prefer wearing something different on a daily bases. You can easily become burnt out of a scent after wearing it so much. Also, my mood changes throughout the week and I tend to base my fragrance of choice off of how im feeling that day. Thank you again

A signature scent is one that fits you that complements the individual in every way. For someone might smell cologne or fragrance on someone else but it just doesnt hit right on your skin the same. I feel like a signature scent when found can fall into your daily wears and you can have your special occasions as well. Its the smell that goes well with you personally.

I personally don't have a signature scent because fragrance can make me feel and experience in different ways for different occasions and locations. I don't always feel like Dylan Blue, or i might not want to take every person on a date wearing the same thing. I do love the signature scent genre or style of fragrances. Like your Zaharoff Signature pour homme, Kajal Faris, Mancera Aqua Wood, BDC Parfum and so on. But i love smelling something different each time to make a unique experience and i completely understand why someone would stick to one fragrance. This hobbie is expensive, subjective, unique and never ending. I've never tried Creed Himalaya, sounds like a pleasant scent. Thanks for the video and giveaway.

For a long time I liked to switch between my fragrances every day. But one day I decided that it is nice when you can have a certain scent that reminds you of different periods of your life. For me, that's Naxos because it works everywhere depending on the number of sprays you apply. So every time I get a whiff of my bottle, it reminds me of the times, places, and people I would wear it around, and all the memories we made. Cheers Justin!

My signature scents for so long were joop homme or curve lol. Id get them at like cvs or walgreens and wore them for yearss. But last December i got gucci guilty edp and started collecting immediately after that. I haven’t really stuck with one singular scent since them due to the fact my collection keeps growing and growing. But in terms or what i wear the most out of my collection now is either cedrat boise or the og prada lhomme.

I'm very much a guy that wants to have and experience a wide array of fragrance and I like having options. So I doubt I would ever have one or two signature scents. I find with me when I have that moment of "wow I love this scent, I've been smelling it for hours and not only am I not tired of it I'm looking forward to the next waft." Especially for the first time it makes me that much more excited for the next scent that lands the same.

Personality as a major fraghead I find that having a signature can get a bit boring and may not always work in certain settings. I currently do not have a signature but I find that I'm not the one to pick that and would leave it up to the people I meet that remembers me by a sent I use. I also like to use different sents to pull in other Personalitys according to the sent rather then just using a sent that reflects my Personality. Imo just wear what you enjoy and if it's one sent in your possession then so be it.

Years ago, I used to have signature scents. The one I stuck with longest was probably Guerlain's Vetiver. But as my collection grew, I began to like changing up my scent too much to ever really have a signature scent anymore. But I appreciate the point of a signature scent, as it's nice to have people associate a particular, well-chosen scent with you.

I think the idea of a signature scent is something that can be affiliated with you, your style and your personality. When people see you, they affiliate a particular scent to go along with it...
For me, a signature scent is something that would theoretically have to check a few boxes - Is it accessible in both value and availability? Because if it is a rare unicorn, you arent going to want to use it regularly or too expensive for you to regularly replenish.
Is it versatile? Because if you only feel comfortable to wear it during certain times or seasons, then it wont be something that is used regularly enough to get associated with you.
Lastly, do I love it? Because for me, to wear something that regularly, it has to be something I am in love with that wont bore me.
Personally speaking, I dont have a signature scent though. I get bored of the same thing too quickly and want to match my feeling, the time and season, as well as my mood. But more power to those that do!

I believe that signature scents can elevate your personality and make others associate a smell with you. I think they are great expressions of a person. However, I am at the point where I have too many fragrances and cannot pick one single signature. I need to have a fragrance rotation. But I find myself wearing Imagination and Naxos quite a bit in the winter and summer respectively.

I feel as individuals who love fragrances, we gravitate towards signature scent "groups". Ive always loved fresh, citrus, aquatic frags in the warmer months, and warm, vanillic, insense type frags in the colder months. That tends to be my "signature".

When I first started looking for a cologne I wanted a niche but one signature scent because of the cost but when you learn more and your taste and smell advances over time you do want more options. Decanting scents has given a way to try new scents before investing in a full bottle. So a few signatures for different occasions and your mood like you mentioned is the way to go. Awesome video and thanks for the recommendations

I guess for me a signature scent is the smell of your personality personified. How you view yourself and the way you wanna present yourself. It can kinda reflect the masculinity/aggressiveness and/or calmness of your demeanor. I been wearing NR bleu noir edp and cedrat boise. I like going back and forth between those.

I think of a signature scent as something you wear frequently. Maybe more frequently than any else.
Frequently doesnt have to actually be that often. With a large collection, that could mean only a few times a month.
It's mostly about a scent that you feel represents you well and that you'd be happy if you knew others thought about you when they smelled it.

Having a signature scent is very important because it’s your essence and first impression when someone meets you. That memory lingers especially when you’re well tailored and groomed because scent alone is not enough to leave a lasting memory on someone. Being known for being properly groomed and well hygiene is key as well. A few of my signature scent is le labo sandal 33, PDM greenly, zaharoff royal X/xxx .i often wear 2nd soul but like to leave that for special occasions… I appreciate your efforts and continued content, keeping us scentdogs entertained…

My thought on a signature scent is more of a go-to fragrance, needs to be versatile enough to be worn for anything and to be worn often without getting boring. I still like to have other scents for certain scenarios or special occasions, but currently my signature scent is Ombre Leather, fresh enough that if you don't go heavy on the sprays you can wear it in summer, and great for colder weather as well.

I understand your position, always wearing what you are in the mood for. On the other hand, true, tried and tested has allot of advantages too. When i used to wear a signature scent, i used to get comments like "soandso said you always smell great, they were right!". A signature event allows you to project the same feelings and emotions possible have when experiencing something nice. It's like comfort food. Not everyone can afford a large collection, so i think signature scents have a time and place.

These days at least, I would say that my signature scent is the one that makes me go back to it the most, regardless of the weather. Signature scents are cool, imo if you're just starting out. Once I got different scents, I was too excited to try them out to see how they performed. What kind of emotions do they illicit from myself and strangers and also to keep people on their toes. I don't like to be known for smelling a certain way but more known for smelling good and having good taste when it comes to scents.

Thanks. I like choosing one or a few signature scents. But not because the smell defines your personality or enhance your attractiveness. Rather, I like selecting a scent to wear regularly because it creates a memory connecting you with those close to you. Certain fragrances remind me of specific people or places. Even friends' homes have their unique scent. And some places also have their own olfactory branding.

I used to think that I never really had a signature, but I was wrong . In my high school days I would wear the same fragrance daily because it was all I had at that moment. When my collection grew a bit I would just wear whatever I had the most of. The fragrance that brings back the most memories is Lacoste Booster, so I would consider that to be my true signature scent, wore it for 2 school years .

I would say a signature scent is the fragrance that speaks for you without words. It defines you as a person! To others it could be a personal scent memory to remember friends and love ones. Some vetivers like terre de Hermes or vetiver gris in the spring, imperium/Elysium or paco xs on hotter summer days, and my favorite season is fall and winter. That's when the big strong dogs come out. Too many to go around but I love tobacco and Arabian scents. Thanks for all the content Justin, glad you're here for us.

I totally agree with you Justin, Collectors or Fragheads hardly do the Signature scent thing. However, IMHO, Scents that are a little on the polarizing end shouldn't be signature Scents (Yes, I'm looking at you, Cartier Declaration edt!). To me, signature Scents should be mass appealing, easy to wear and perfect for all seasons and all occasions. I wish all the contestants for the giveaway good luck. I have a few bottles with bigger dents in them than others but nothing that I think I could claim as a signature scent for me. To each their own though I don’t have anything against anybody only wanting to own 1-3 fragrances. I just enjoy wearing more throughout the year and different seasons!

I used to buy one bottle at the time and last year I struggled to find something new that I like, because I was tired of 4-5 fragrances that used to buy routinely.
So, I came to TH-cam for help. And now I have 10+ fragrances, they are either Manceras or Middle Eastern clones.
I love the overall idea. Now I can't wear the same cologne more than 1 day. Next day is a new day and new challenge.
    Thanks 🙏

I recently started my fragrance journey, but my favorite one so far has been Terre D'Hermes edt. It makes me so happy every time i wear it, wouldnt mind people remembering me by it either. That's what it comes down to i guess; do we want to keep surprising people (and ourselves) or want to expose people to the same scent which - if it is decent enough - will inevitably grow on them, just like being exposed repeatedly to a work of art will raise its merit for us, if not for the intrinsic artistic value of the work itself, at least for the element of memory.

My dad wore Aramis edt as his Signature scent, which permeated throughout my childhood home. He has passed on, but his scent still permeates through my adult mind( hippocampus ), and brings me back to better times that are long gone.

I started off with just having a signature scent, it was ARMAF Derby Club Gold and wore it every day for just about every occasion. No longer are the days of single cologne, I love Creed and have a few decants of their scents and 3 of my favorite bottles. I would love to add Himalaya to my collection as it is a great scent I have sampled and loved!

Back in the day, I would tell you YSL L'Homme was my signature. Because it was the only bottle I had. Nowadays, I couldn't pick one over the other and in that I am quite blessed. I love variety, and my preferences will change with my mood and the weather. So I like to keep 2-3 in rotation. I think that's as close to a "signature" as I'll get these days, but I'm more than satisfied with that.

Personally, I like the idea of a signature scent. I wore Safari for years back in the 90’s and have since branched out.
I used to wear something different every day but my bride has requested that I wear Layton whenever we go out so that has defaulted to become my signature scent of sorts. I don’t mind that one bit since Layton is a beautiful scent.

I get overwhelmed with picking a signature scent form my collection but I realized that the few everyday easy reaches I tend to go for most of the year are the signature scents ppl remember me by whether I want them to or not. Or whether they’re my favorites or not.

I recently decided that Penhaligon’s Sartorial is my signature. I love it so. That said, I won’t wear it more than three times a week. I don’t want to get tired of it.

For me a signature scent is a scent memory some ties to you or that you tie to an event/person/season. My collection has grown a bit but I always tend to gravitate to what suits me and suits the weather/mood. They’ve varied for awhile but coworkers and friends can always pin point my signature scent.

Starting out I feel like you should have a select few to start to understand what you like & give you options for seasons. I've had a few Signature scents and it's great if you can stick to that but there is so much to try. Even if you can keep your collection to an amount where it's not a daunting task to pick your scent for the day I think you're in good shape. Fragrance can definitely be a rabbit hole.

I’ve had a few Signature scents in the past: Eddie Bauer Adventurer,Navy,Drakkar Noir,Givenchy Play,Cool Water and Versace Blue Jeans. I tried do Signature scents but nowadays there’s just such a large variety of excellent Fragrances to choose from. I just keep wearing different ones almost everyday.

To me signature scents are special, because especially if you spend time with others, they can come to recognize you by that scent if you wear it enough, even after you may have passed. I lost a sister to cancer and her signature scent was Hanae Mori Pink butterfly. I keep a small decent of that in my collection to remind me of her. My personal sig scent is a combination of Jo Malone Grapefruit layered with White Jasmine and Mint.. Thanks for another great vid mate.
    Cheers

I’d say in high school until my mid 30’s I wore JPG, CK Be and V Blue Jeans. Each was worn for a certain time period. In the last 3 years I’ve amassed over 30. Some in from 10ml to 100ml. I can’t see myself wearing a fragrance more than a week. My mood and the weather plays an important part of me picking a fragrance to wear

Hah! What a great question! Yes, I've been thinking more and more about signature scents. As my collection grows way beyond my self-established limit of 30 (now at 65) I want to pare it back down to that number. My plan is to slowly replace the large number of redundant cheapies by meaningful niche representatives of each major category. One category that I gave much thought to is signature scent. My thought process was to pick something that represents me at this moment in life. I ended up picking Amouage Epic Man and every time I wear it I get more convinced it was a great pick. Classic and modern, green and resinous, relatable yet intriguing.

My signature scent at one point was Lacoste White and that lasted forever before I really got into fragrances. I wore it every day and went though like 3 bottles lol. I think for the most part I still have a few signature scents now but I think it's mostly because I wear them so much people are use to smelling them on me. I have been dwindling my collection here lately to try to cater my collection to define me

When i first started my fragrance journey, montblanc explorer was my signature, but then i discovered Nishane Hacivat and made the switch. Since then though, much like yourself, ive obtained many different fragrances and got bored of having a signature, so now its more about what im feeling for the day.

My signature scents bring up scent memories or nostalgia of the time of year. I have a signature scent for each season. My signature scent right now in December is Valentino uomo intense.

Signature scents can be a great thing. I think having a mass appealing, yet slightly unique scent allows for you to have something memorable about yourself. It’s like a signature jacket or accessory, something that others can remember you by while adding a touch of personality to your wardrobe.

Interestingly enough, looking back at my fragrance journey, i found, that my signature scents throughout the years had been fragrances, that are not so special to me, whereas my favorite smelling ones i wear much less often, saving them for the most special occasions to me. The same thing i notice myself doing with my clothes. However I’m changing this habit and now my signature is one of my favorites from my collection - Hermes h24 edp.

I feel like as your collection grows and you have more and more options to choose from, a signature scent or in my experience, a couple signature scents, that you could always run back to and feel confident wearing are something great that just makes life easier.

I think as you build your collection up you kind of start choosing some favorites that you’d want to repurchase because of how much you like it as well as how much you use it. It’s an old reliable in a way. For me I try to balance that with the fragrances I want to use during different times of the year (heavier more ambery or dark in the colder weather and more citrusy forward in the warmer months)

I love the idea of signature scents and being able to tie that scent to a memory. But I also think it gas all personal preference and your interests will change as time goes on
