C7 Corvette Gets A Carbon Fiber APR Rear Diffuser!

- The final modification is going on the Corvette & it's one of my favorites! A few months back I bought a carbon fiber type 2 rear diffuser from APR performance. The fitment was pretty good but it is super tight and rigid once bolted down. If you're doing this install, I would recommend installing the undertray before mounting the rear bumper.

I really like this full bumper replacement/diffuser solution over the other C7 diffuser options where you drill/screw in vertical slates or, worse, stick another body panel on top of the original bumper. Nothing says "gaudy Pontiac look" like those. Yuk. The fact that this one is carbon fiber is a bonus.
So true! This is without a doubt the best version of that diffuser.
Just did mine and tried using this video for reference but basically used it for what not to do. Definitely didn’t have to remove my rear camera or exhaust tips. Thanks anyways.
Matt you have one thing I struggle with, I find I can't ask for help until I have tried all ways to do it my self, That is a job well it looks so much better than stock.
Thanks for some OG content during the pandemic! Helps keep some normalcy in life. :)
The M3 looks sooo sweet in the background!
That colour is growing on me carbon goes great with it
Ordered mine, that’s why I’m here. Also cheaped out on the exhaust shield because I thought it would just get too hot for the carbon fiber. I like your videos, I watched you install the mgw shifter and followed that to the T when installing mine. Also learned the do’s and don’ts on this video so that will help.

Thanks.
It’s awesome watching a father & Son work on a project together, especially when it’s a car project.
Needs small splash guards on rear wheel well. So open to fly off from tires.
Really kinda want to put one of these on my ZR1. Just need to see one in person to see if the weave and tint matches the rest of what came stock on the car. I’m sure you can appreciate that if it doesn’t match, that will drive me pretty much out of my mind.
It's really nice.
No instructions or do we wing it????
What’s type of lift is that and where can I get one? I have the same diffuser just haven’t installed it yet. Good job btw. Thanks in advance.
Looks awesome Matt, 👍👌
I swear everyone makes the same concentrating face when building things 😂
What did you do with the camera. Saw you pull it out then it disappeared
Where did you get the white reflector from?
That looks awesome!!
That red arrow though in thumbnail. Hope video does well. In which case good for Matt. Linus (LTT) had a frank admission about this when his thumbnails changed a while back.
Matt...is that the 1/4 Milwaukee impact or 3/8? I can’t tell in the video.
1/4"
This looks sick!!
HEY WHAT WITH THAT SWEET EXHAUST SYSTEM ON THE GROUND :)
Would like to see you get an older car that is not all plastic and make it OG spec.
Just in time for it to move on to it's next home...
New motto for OG - "Next car UP". Matt you're a solid individual, but brother. Buy something and keep it for a bit. Go hog on something man - you have yet to own a car fast enough to scare the shi+ out of you. That starts at about 800rwhp and over
man I love every thing about your vette it is my dream car. I just wish chevy offered blue calipers as an option
jpbc4 corvette is your dream car?
yes it is
Do days like today make you miss the market!?
No
Ha, ha... I literally don't look at any of it and pay zero attention. It's sublime. I can't believe I used to sit there and watch a bunch of goofs making proclamations all day.
@@ObsessedGarage amazing!
Post notification squuuuad
Sparkle plastic? Did you mean CARBON FLASH! ha
Corvettes just remind me of Streetspeed 717, can't believe I used to watch that click bait bs
Mike is actually a really good dude.
nice job gays
I kinda miss the sound of everyone working in the background.
Instructions definitely not read beforehand lol
I can’t believe I just heard Matt say nylock. That is so hillbilly. Thought he turned a new leaf and was going to start calling it a vette too.
Luke Lambert that’s literally what they are called.
Garrett Koonsman you are literally wrong. It is a nylon nut, hex nut with nylon insert, or a nylon locking nut. Nylock is a slang term that is globally recognized but I hate. It was meant to be a joke because Matt is the polar opposite of a hillbilly but that is when I think of when I hear it due to working in a shop full of hillbillies.
Luke Lambert nylock
Garrett Koonsman 😂😂😂. You’re killing me smalls lol! I take it in stride now. No veins bulging anymore haha.
Your garage gives me wet dreams.
I am sure they are comfortable but those shoes are hideous.
I know you like to mod cars but you should've just bought the C8, seems the C7's are dropping in value.
Zr1 will drop less aggressively just because of their low production numbers. But you right, its still a c7... But we wont see a c8 zr1 for another 2 or 3 years
The C8 is super ugly. I have no interest in that car. I like the idea of the C7 and how many options there are for improving it. It will be years before aftermarket support catches up. I've never once bought a car based on it's future value. I just buy what I like and figure it out later.
@@ObsessedGarage this answer is so perfect. I agree, the base c8 is ugly IMO. But to me the base c7 is also hideous. Something about wide fenders on corvettes get me right. Heres hoping the c8 gs/z06/zr1 has the same effect on me. Wish more people held your opinion
lol this comment didn’t age well. Seeing as how C8s are depreciating faster than C7s especially manual C7s! Plus the C7 is so much sexier than the C8!
Was this supposed to be a how to video? I'll look for someone that actually knows what they're doing
Does it say that anywhere?
@@ObsessedGarage So what was the purpose of this video?
Metric bolts on an American car..
now sell this fucking car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did you get the jacks from?
