- You can check out my other video of my bike's issue. After a lot of searching and watching other peoples videos/talking to other riders, I've replaced my fuel pump, and I think it solved the problem! Hits the Rev limiter no problem now.

After much pain, I discovered this fuel pump kit fit my bike perfectly, despite saying it's for the GSXR bikes.
Model # HFP-384-UR2T4 from Quantum Fuel Supplies

You can't replace that internal filter but you can flush it with STP fuel injection cleaner, fill it up with STP and let it sit for a few hours, the junk will dissolve and then flush it with an air compressor, if you don't your new pump will overheat, pull more amps and break again, these bikes need constant injector additive, if you put a meter on the pump you will see that its drawing too much amperage because of the clogged or partially clogged high pressure fuel filter.😢

I m about too to change my fuel pump on 2004 z1000 cause in the summer it made me the same glitches on the road....
These days i m changing the valve cover gasket and spark plugs....

You got 1 cylinder not firing. Check your plugs and ignition

My bike is having a similar issue and I tried what you did in your others video and the power came back. I removed the air filter and made a video so I could check if my throttle body was opening and it is. I've changed the spark plugs and also the coils. The bike has plenty of power but boggs out after I've been riding for about 30-45 min. I sit for a min or so and it turns back on and runs sometimes it will run for a while and others it will shut off in about a minute or so. Once it cools I can ride it for a while again. Did replacing the fuel pump solve your issue? Thank you again for the great video.
Hello man, perfect video. Did you have in moment when motorcycle starts hopping error with FI (fuel injection) red icon on display ?
And how much is cost new fuel pump in you counry ?

Hey man sorry for my delayed response!! I actually never had any kind of FI light, no engine codes, nothing! which made it slightly harder to pinpoint the problem. After taxes and shipping I payed 157$ CAD.

I have this problem with bike and I think that problem is with ECU or somewhere in the cables - very hard to find where..

your pump was so much easier to get out. I have an 06 and they tweeked the design a bit and at the bottom there is a little plastic piece that was such a bitch to get past the lip inside the tank.
i have a 2006 but no breathers on mine ? can you show me how you took the petrol pipe off been trying for a week
You're talking about the main fuel line going from the tank to the engine? the hose has a connector on the end, that requires you to pinch two little "buttons" on the connector, and then simply pull it off!

Dude i bought a Z1000 2004 yesterday ZRT00a with almost 18000km on the Tachometer and on the german Autbahn(Highway with no speed limit) i pull the throttle like you and there was the same failure pls say it is better now an i only must replace the fuel pump i mean the bike was not active for about 2 years it was ride 200-300 km in this time an the rest it was put away in the garage ... comment please an sry for my Bad english im from Germany i only can speak and write casual English
Hey man!! Still snow on the roads so I'm unable to ride and fully test it. BUT, the fact that my fuel screen was caked would have been part of the problem anyways, so I'd definitely suggest replacing the pump if you're experiencing the symptoms in my other video. I'm pretty certain I fixed the issue. Like I mention in the description, it revs SO fast and strong. Like, in that last rev at 10:05 it hits 12'000 rpm redline in a second, and would have stayed there if I didnt release the throttle. Now with the new fuel pump, it made me realize that after 9000 rpm, the engine was struggling to reach redline, even in neutral. 18'000 kms isn't that high, but sitting is never good for electric motors (ie, the fuel pump). If you take your pump out, be sure to inspect your fuel tank for rust or crap inside!!
