    Great video as always Shawn, I never understand why they don't make these traps twice as long as they are, and that RAT.. then a Squirrel?! they need to make then Rat Sized :) Side note, are you keeping deer mice as pet mice? How did you select those as keepers? Interesting as always, thanks.

      Yes, we definitely need more rat traps! I did, anyway. Supersizing the mice traps seems to work fairly well in general. I made a variant of the "walk the plank" with an empty coke bottle instead of a plank and a 55 gallon drum instead of a bucket... seems to work... i'd like to try some more.

      David Farmer he said it was his pet mouse. But we’ve had mice chew through car wires several times. So we view them as pests that you must kill if they’re on your property trashing stuff. I’m not a evil person that loves to kill things. I just don’t want them to cause me extra work, time, frustration, and money.

    This is what we have used for years. It’s highly effective and easy to use. Just place a saltine cracker lightly coated with peanut butter in the back of the trap and you will attract any mouse in the area. They LOVE peanut butter. When we release the little one into a nearby wooded area, we throw out the cracker for them so they have something to eat as they become accustomed to their new environment.

    @jayc3110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    That was an excellent explaination and real life "test" ... Thank you for this video. - Did you notice another mouse came along and hovered around the trapped mouse... The other little mouse seemed to try and find a way to help! Now i must say this to all who read this:
    i'm trying hard not to sound like a sanctimonious, preacher and pontificator, but i know that every single, sentient creature on our planet has the same will to surrvive and live on to another day... Have you noticed how even a lowly (as most humans classify them) insect, has the same desire as humans to live on?... They scurry away frantically when disturbed, knowing they may be destroyed... All sentient living creatures have the same 'life force' in them as the Ancient Vedic scriptures tell us...
    We Americans seem oblivious to phenomena... It sickens me that all "Home improvement" and other stores have an entire section dedicated to destroying ants, wasps and other small creatures which are deemed a 'nuicance' ... How difficult is it, to trap an ant or a flying insect which enters our home and free it? - It's not difficult at all! - Just put a plastic glass over it, slip a card paper under the glass, take it outdoors and free it! - It is a very minor interruption in our life. The simpler option (because we are 'so special and important and must not be inconvenienced in the least'!) is to kill it!
    There is a reason for everything... EVERYTHING... Even the existence of every single little creature (which may annoy or disturb us) has some meaning and reason for it's existence...
    This may be difficult to understand for many, but if one believes there is an immense force and intelligence beyond or comprehension, which is responsible for this immense creation, it is not..

    Thanks for this video, was having trouble with fitting Door A back properly and it helped. This is a great little trap, very reasonable price and easy to use! Love that it's a humane alternative, I can't stomach knowing I am slowly poisoning an animal or squashing it in a traditional trap. I set it out in our garage and it has already caught a couple of cute little mice in less than a week, which I free. It feels good to do good. My 11 year old daughter loves the fact that we are not killing them too. Recommend!

    Walmart has a live catch trap that works pretty dam well. It even has a viewing window and is even more gentle than this. It uses a door on a platform to open and close the trap. No spring door to catch/damage limbs or tails. It's meant to be a combo trap, with the option to use a glue pad, but you don't have to use it. It's also MUCH easier to clean the droppings/urine out of afterwards.

I think what you meant to say is Animal Rights advocates, humanitarians are the ones who advocate for things like disaster relief or aid to foreign countries in the developing world. Educate yourself fast because people will manipulate you if you don't actually understand what these terms and ideas mean and represent.

    I am partial to killing those destructive creatures. I have been terrorized by those heethans. Rats and mice. For such small creatures they exponentially destroy thousand upon thousand of dollars worth of damage not to mention the countless hours of lost sleep due to chewing and scratching noises through the night. I can appreciate your kind hearted live traps. I am generally a very compassionate man. They have driven me to the mentality I have having been smak dab in the middle of the battlefield between rats and mice in territorial pissings for more in my life than not.
    Some years the mice win
    Some years the mice win
    Every year I loose due to how fast they reproduce.
    I'll like your videos and compassion.
    You'll have to excuse my tenacity to eliminate the beasts as they are.
    In my most humane way possible.

    • @Armegeothm
      @Armegeothm 6 ปีที่แล้ว +60

      The way I see it, these things are meant for 'problem mice' rather than 'mouse problems'.
      These are best suited for (sub)urban environments were the mouse count can be summed up on a hand or two, and relocation results in virtually as effective of a removal as killing it.
      Mouse traps like this are woefully inadequate when dealing with an actual infestation. Most traps are, lest they be in bulk and are managed constantly.
      The marketing on the box is terrible though. What kind of jackass puts morality lessons on a rodent trap?

    I've got 1 of the big cheese humane traps and it's been in the loft 6 days now and with my night vision camera recording everything all the mouse does is sniff the outside. The closest it has been to entering the trap was walking half way up the ramp then reversing back out. Its getting very frustrating waiting for it to get in the trap. Is there any suggestions you can give me that may help me catch this mouse faster. Anything would be appreciated.
